I do not think that cmc is worth 400 million, i mean it is a simple website that fetches data across exchanges using APIs so there is not much technical maintenance or requirement on part of continuous work with regards to the cmc other than adding new coins and listing but maybe binance is impressed by massive userbase and traffic on cmc on daily basis but still i think it should not be purchased for more than 10 to 20 million buying it for more will sound like wasting money.

I wish CMC is another form of Bitcoin itself where no one can buy or manipulates, now if binance acquired CMC what do you think will happen? The CEO will feel like a king and only do as her see fit, I don't like this idea at all

Coinmarketcap is not honest enough, mate, but yet it is the greatest coin tracking tool ever made! I don't know why CZ wants to buy it, as they already have Binance info which tracks coin's price and markets! If he wants to be king then that will be a wrong idea. There is no king in crypto, and no one can take the great Satoshi Nakamoto's place!

One thing confused me, that Cz is a great guy, he helped lots of poor people, founded a charity program, donated millions of dollar to various fund! I hope he will keep his image clean, dominating the crypto market would be the worst idea for him!

It's too much for a crap exchange site like coinmarketcap which always helping scammer. I personally will prefer to see binance will try to acquire crypto rank rather than MCAP. it looks like that binance is looking for the traffic that has already acquired by MCAP site.

Not for advertising, now most of the people are searching coins through CMC, which many people are losing their money through fake pumps which are listed in the CMC. Once if Binance acquires CMC there is a huge change in terms of listing because the will be in a selective manner in order to eliminate fraudulent.

People will still says it is centralized that not all coin is getting listed on the CMC. Gone are the days that CMC too have strict rules regarding listing. In fact getting listed on CMC before is a positive signal that can influence the trading volume of such coin on any exchange it is listed. The fact still remain that many people want a platform that offer strict rules regarding fake and shitcoin but a lot of people will still complain of centralization

That would be massive for binance as well as for the crypto community as binance will become a stand out platform and as a largest crypto data and statistics provider as well and along with that its ecosystem, features, services and revenue sources will increase as well that will be massive for it and result in bnb price to boom as well.

Once binance takeover CMC we will expect that there's a good movements for the project itself since investors interest will see it as positive move
from the exchange itself, additional business serves as an additional collateral for their company.
We don't know yet how big this will impact the project and the exchange as there are many influenced that still needs to look upon though potentials

I value Binance exchange as one of the best exchanges at the same time I respect the team for always trying to ensure they offer the best, but I think going for this is bad for the entire space. Binance is an exchange and should remain as such, acquiring coinmarketcap will only but give rise to more manipulation from them because all their doings will be for the benefit of their platforms and those who aren't in accordance with what they want might face backlashes. I think this is time for coingecko to step up as people and platforms will try to seek a coinmarket which is somewhat independent.

Its a big amount for a single website that is just pulling data from exchanges but it drives traffic because most of the crypto users are just using the website for reference. Binance is often doing their best ideas to conquer it all. That big amount may not matter anymore to them for they all getting the money easy from the market they also manipulate.

Bad reputation? I do not think that this is a fact. The site was working on listing all currencies that have a project and have a working paper and a team, and we see that there are a lot of fraudulent currencies that were not recognized

When it comes to creating and developing stuffs, there's no point of reinventing the wheels. I'm thinking the team behind binance thought it through before deciding that spending as much as $400M – (Creating a web platform like Coinmarketcap should cost 4 times less). Moreover, most times, they more better options  in crushing competitors is to acquire startups/firm rather than creating new range of products.  Remember how Google and Microsoft acquired so many projects already? That's it.

This was quite surprising to me; never did I even have the thought that Binance would go after something like CoinMarketCap. Even though CoinMarketCap's a relatively simplistic site at the end of the day, it's still a great deal for Binance as I'm sure they'll find a way to attach the Binance name to the site after acquisition one way or another. The name of the site alone is massively popular as stated in the OP, and the site's operations may even change for the better if Binance does acquire CMC.

Losing value is always a rampant situation and not just CMC encountered that thing nowadays. Many coins went so disappointing to see, that's why we need to look close on each possible coins to recover so fast regardless on how it's marketcap will tend to behave randomly.
