Based on the address I think came from Bitmex based on its format. This is worth $5million and could somehow drag the price if dump, but probably this is just whale account who wanted to play drag and drop trading. Also, the value cannot totally pulled it out as some exchange reach this kind of figures in terms of volume.

Whether it came from them or not, doesn't matter.

People always panic when they see some huge transfers like this. It happened in the past for so many times and whether it's a whales movement, bitcoin always comes back despite of these possible dumps.

Oh the horror...
Run for the hills, 900 BTC are on the move!!!
And furthermore, to an unknown wallet, and he didn't tweet before making the transfers, nor did the owner tell everybody on telegram Facebook and youtube why is he doing this, from where he has the coins, and what he plans to do with it.
Everybody panic!!!!!

Second:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/07d1e93758ea6622259ba3f1afe6c5fca0d4712bb125a3c34f0f44bc32c71ee6

Where did you get the transferred 991.3062 BTC ?

Based on the address I think came from Bitmex based on its format.

Yeah, it's bitmex and it's not the first time somebody watching whale alert starts a topic about that address over nothing.

What's funny is that it wasn't even the largest tx in that block alone:

This is insane! Yes, all input adresses and output change address belong to Bitmex. Recently, they shut down the trading of all pairs and many of its users lost their balances. Now, they want to sell this huge amount in binance!!
I can't tell about how shameful is this, or if binance can be considered as involved in what bitmex is trying to do. This is most important than btc price which already dropping.

Although, that might be true. If this is a transaction of this volume separate to the normal exchanges volume, and thus being added on top it could effect the price. Although, it definitely isn't guaranteed its a good observation, and should be taking into consideration if you're looking to trade Bitcoin in the next coming days.

Does this mean that the price will soon fall? What changes should we expect?
Its rumoured to be Bitmex which I haven't confirmed for myself as of yet. However, the general consensus is large amounts of Bitcoin will effect the market. Although, its difficult to predict what trend it might cause. It could equally cause a rise in price, or even a fall in price. There's several others factors that traders have to take into consideration. Just know that this has the potential to cause a little instability in the next few days.

this is exactly why i advise newbies to stay away from scam websites such as those who "alert" you about coin movements! they only "alert" you when it pleases their purposes otherwise all the other hundreds of transactions that are just as big if not bigger are going to be ignored by them!

besides how do you know that some whale didn't just buy 991.3062 BTC because it is currently a huge discount on bitcoin sales?

Although, the OP may be a little biased with their wording. Its a legitimate thing to raise to the community. There's been a rather large movement of coins, which could influence the market. Although, I agree with your suggestion that users should be wary of the motives behind news articles, and other users of the forum when it comes to predictions, and news. Its definitely something that could influence the current price. I also think its a good idea to have discussions on these sort of events for users in the future to look back at, and compare it to their situation. It might help users determine the best approach when large amounts of Bitcoin has been moved.

Why do you guys need to worry about it? It's not that big at all when pulled out from the market capitalization of the bitcoin. That only worth a $5 million and could just impact the price a little. Huge transfers like this does not bother me anymore, It's pretty normal, just think that someone or maybe a group wants to taste a bit of their money but in times like this they might have pull it out for something necessary. If this move was made on exchange then that's not a business for us to know. As for the next days, months of this crisis expect more of a hell roller coaster ride.

then why isn't this so called "legitimate thing" isn't raised every couple of days to the community? it is not like large coins moving is rare thing! but we only hear about it whenever there is a drop or any kind of downtime in the market.

here is a list of a bunch of them in the past 20 days ranging from $300 million to $700 million

thanks to blockchain.com i can post these all day long for each month and as you can see it is NOT AT ALL uncommon to see large coins move like this.

so let me ask you this, why people like OP never "warn" others of these transactions every couple of days specially in Feb. that price was rising?
you can't just choose to consider one transaction to be "dumpy" and scary and the ignore the others.

Follow this account ---> https://twitter.com/whale_alert, It gives you a lot of information about the BTC movements and in view of the data that is presented through this site, the transfer of this amount is normal and therefore it will not constitute a major change in the scale of supply/demand a change that makes the price change in a significant way.

Also, I think we've reached enough market cap to make the  1,000 BTC move ineffective. It is difficult for one person to make a real change in the price.

It can be a transaction to Binance's cold wallet; in fact it can be any transaction of their internal. I really don't see any such reason here to be careful. 991 BTC all alone can't bring BTC to trash or significant change in BTC. Be cool, man.

It is difficult for one person to make a real change in the price.

one stupid thing about whale alert is that they link anything to "whales" and then make people think they are moving coins to sell on exchanges. they ignore the fact that you can't even sell that much on an exchange! have you ever tried withdrawing large amounts of money from a bitcoin exchange? with $6 million you could probably be raided by swat teams Wink

Well, perhaps the assumption of most comments above that came from Binance cold wallet and that was right. Because on the Bitcoin wallet you can see where the Bitcoin landed and you can also determine on previous transactions on Bitcoin wallet addresses. But I don't know what we must be careful about this transaction. Just only transferring into another wallet and nothing else on that. Indeed, let see if this will have an effect on the market I will back on this and comment again if there is a Bitcoin price crash.

According to what I know this walled is binance wallet. so, maybe a sharp movement is incoming

Almost all Binance's wallet has already identified by whale-alert.
I don't think it is belong to Binance. Are you sure about this?

This not not new scenario in crypto industry. Also it doesn't matter if this huge amount of bitcoin is owned by a single unknown personality, bitcoin will always stay even there is a dump. No need to panic about this.

I don't care and don't trust about these whale alerts, because they can so easily be used to manipulate the market. A whale can just move their coins to cause panic and buy a dip and sell a few hours later when the price recovers, then repeat ad nauseam. And this sort of information is only interesting to daytraders anyway, and majority of people shouldn't be daytraders, it's a good way to lose your money fast.

We should not have to be a daytrade, maybe the right words to make us like a merchant who is mentally strong and tough and not easily influenced by whale problems or warnings like that. But what must be done, the panic will not be stopped if the whales throw some of their assets on the market. If we dont cut losses and start buying them again when prices hit rock bottom, then we have to wait a little longer until the market recovers.

I just noticed that, every time a whale play is drama, there will be people who suffer losses if they dont cut losses when prices start to dump.

$5-6M bitcoin dumping on the market will have no effect not at all, we are talking of about over $35B 24hrs traded volume, $6M will gladly be swallowed up and this will not be notice.
