Will only the best survive?

Hi folks!

I'm not a heavy forum user, but I made some money on crypto during this 2017 run, of course this forum helped me a lot in this. Since then I stepped out from BTC/ALT markets and I sat mainly on money, now things are going to change. As you can see, world is in panic right now. It is not only about COVID-19 disease, but financial system is unstable. Almost all countries are giving "helicopter money" which is printed in huge amounts by governments and banks. Of course in short period of time - it will help, but as I can see in long-term it will cause the inflation, and it is going to "kill" middle class people. Why? 1st, inflation will decrease their saving, 2nd - interesting rates must go up to save the economy. It will make credits much more expensive than they are right now. 3rd - a lots of people will lose their job.

It was a quick recap, I don't want to write a science article about crisis, but that is very likely to happen.

What happens right now in safe assets?

Silver is "unglued" from paper value. Physical metal is much more expensive than paper equalities. Moreover, it is really hard to buy. Just check this out. Here in Middle-Europe where I am living, time for delivery is about 60 days. Prices with 24H avaliabilty are about 1.5x more expensive.


Gold, almost the same situation as with silver.



On the other hand we have cryptos. Cryptos with huge, but limited amount (I guess they are the most safe crypto's at all). Cryptos which can provide us a new payment methods. Cryptos which are available 24/7. Not like silver or gold. I think the world has changed dramatically since the latest crisises, so this one will be totally different than the others. People won't start paying in silver, and gold. I think that Satoshi was right. He created something genius.



I think that the only the best are able to survive. Now we're stepping into crypto decade. What are your thoughts about current situation and role which cryptos will play in this "New World"?



For now I picked two cryptos (XEL and ADA), because they have real value, and they are able to change the financial aspect of this world.

As you have said about the helicopter money or known as the stimulus. This will make people wonder that the government can print money as much as they want but it will badly affect their economy. The inflation rate will increase and their savings value will become lower.
Before they don't care what bitcoin is but this is the time for them to see how powerful bitcoin is in times like this.

You are absolutely correct. We are sitting on another financial crisis. Last time the banks got bailed out, and bitcoin was created in response. This time the bailout extends further. The deficiences of fiat are revealed yet again. The time for bitcoin is coming... will it be now? Hard to say. Maybe this time it is too early, but yes, soon bitcoin will become the ultimate value store and supplant gold and silver.

The only thing is I would recommend you buy some bitcoin as well as alts. As soon as money starts coming back to crypto, it's likely that bitcoin will lead any price surge. Not definite, of course, just this is usually how it works, and alts follow afterwards.

Nothing is assured no matter how we do hate the current fiat system.Yeah, it might have those lots of flaws but people or the entire world would still consider on using up this system in spite to that matter.
Im not saying that Bitcoin doesnt have a chance but its just really hard to believe on that i will replace fiat anytime soon and also we know the differences in between crypto and natural resources/mineral
when it comes to price movement and actual value.In spite on thinking up or minding too much it would be better to accumulate both if you'd like to.

Im feeling curious about what has already offered by XEL? Crypto has various advantages that can be used for various things. This is the advantage of crypto rather than holding gold or other real commodities.
Im also still holding all of my assets and i have been getting a very good return ( even on this pandemic)

Of course, you are right. People still belive in FIAT currencies, but the value of FIAT currency is mainly based on trust for the government. I think, that world is going to stop for another 3-4 months before everything goes back to "normal". This will cause things, that even not-educated people will see (inflation, more expensive credits, less things in shops, etc). People will try to find new asset which will help them to "safe" their money. There is not enough gold and silver on this planet for everyone... But there is different situation with crypto.

I think that Bitcoin is like Ford "T" for automotive. It showed us the way, but we are not able to use it in everyday life. ETH is like 2000s" Cars. It is more stable, faster, cheaper and scalable, but after the 2017 hype it is starting to become more useless. And now we need to look for cars like Tesla...

The global economic conditions affect the price of crypto markets and expecting the independent crypto market will be naive. The HODL-ers should continue doing what they have been doing before the crisis and this will decrease the selling pressure which leads to panic selling.

ADA is promising altcoin and the current market price doesn't show its real value. As you mentioned, the world are busy with printing money which causes hyperinflation  and there is another solution except printing more USD for FED. In 2-3 years, everyone will see the results of the today's economic decisions, maybe that days will shine towards the crypto ecosystem.

This is true. Eventually only the coins with a genuine use-case will survive. Those that don't will slowly fade to nothing, but we are a long way from that point. I would imagine we have years of volatility and speculation-driven prices ahead of us. The bad coins will disappear, yes, but for now and the medium-term future they will remain.

As for the coins you mentioned, I like ADA. This coin does have a real use case and a great development record. It is perhaps too early to judge them, but the potential is certainly there.

After the last crisis planty of startups were made. They changed our world (Airbnb, Uber, Visa/Mastercard explosion, etc.). Now I guess it's time for something new. It is unlikely that we will see huge gains in this year, but in '21 or '22 we can be eye-witnesses of revolution.

Now I'm starting to buy and HODL everything. I will try to find the best "unicorns" and for now I'm trying with 1st ADA investment.

You are correct! The world will realize how crypto is great and different from other money! It's 24/7 available, no off time, no extra fee, no government controls, it's safe and handy to anyone! World crisis can affect the crypto market's value, but it can be used as a payment method even in this COVID-19 pandemic when the social distance is must need! Mate your content was good enough, maybe you need to change the title! Because most of the people will agree with your contents! However, I have no idea about XEL coin, and it does not look that better, I would choose XRP instead of XEL!

You said very important thing. Social distance! I like to think about lots of solution from every situation, but going back to Gold or Silver as a payment method is unlikely to me. The world has changed for the last 30, 50 and even 100 years. Even the Pandemic will go away in happy scenario, people will want have safe and very comfy payment methods. Gold and Silver aren't best solution for our times.

I also really like ADA, which is one of the top 10 altcoins in this market. But I'm quite worried about the current status of this project, they don't have too many big updates. And they don't do any promotion to help the price of the token go up, if in the future they don't have a clear strategy then I think other altcoins will surpass ADA.

I agree that only the best coin that will survive during this moment, and of course, bitcoin will still survive with the other strong altcoin. We might see a change in the crypto market position, and there will be some coins which can replace the old coin positions. But it might happen if that coin has strong support.

I somehow support OP in the part of crypto to save people from the inflation which is about to happen through the current pandemic but gold is also a good choice and is not a most you ask for it to be deliver now due to the high cost involve in it these days.
Nevertheless, the OP mentioned XEL and ADA as one of the crypto that will survive but the last time i checked XEL is not even a crypto. About ADA, I want the OP to understand crypto level of surviving in the market cannot be measure through real value and features but through community support and utility level.

Seem like cryptocurrency has been considered by many people now as a legit place beside traditional investment. Now many people there are going to spend their money to invest in crypto, that what I'm thinking. I see my money fiat is continue to decline against dollar US, and that is worst. I will be a fool if I keep my money fiat because as you thinking the inflanation will come as soon as possible. And talking about genuine use case, we will have very, very few of those at the end of the day. Bitcoin? Ethereum for smart contracts? Monero for anonymous and private payments?

Everything else is only proposals and ideas, no real people using them.

With the current global economic downturn caused by the expanding corona pandemic that is currently happening, I think it is natural that cryptocurrency is experiencing a crisis at the moment, but it does not rule out the possibility that later on ahead of halving day, maybe the condition of cryptocurrency will also improve even more, but in this will indeed be intense competition in the cryptocurrency and the impact will be that many crypto assets will experience price declines due to interest, liquidity, and volume factors.
So that which can survive will show significant growth because the altcoin really offers a solution to the real problems of investors or consumers.
