Decentralised is a scam and I will explain why.

So I got into bitcoin a couple years ago and I thought decentralised is the future, and I will embrace this with my mind and also my body.
I thought everything bitcoin is good and I decided to go all-in. Decentralise my whole life. Yeah! Because then I can STICK IT TO THE MAN. Skillz.

I got a copy made of my front door key and I hung it on the noticeboard in the corner shop. This is my public key. And I put my public address up with it because that is public too. But I am not stupid I have my private key in my house but I will not tell you where in my house. Maybe it is under my sofa. Maybe the secret floorboard. Maybe it is in that cupboard I got from Uncle Peter. I will not tell you. But it is not in the kitchen. And that floorboard is not in the kitchen it is somewhere else. Anyway the kitchen smells because of the cat food so maybe try the bathroom or something or the living room.

Public Key

Uncle Peter

Huh Private Key Huh I will not tell you

Anyway when I got back from work yesterday someone had got into my house and STOLEN ALL MY STUFF. I mean there was literally several DOLLARS worth of stuff. And now Uncle Peter is angry because I done lost that cupboard and it is a famerlee hair loom and he is doing that eyebrow thing he does so I know it is bad.

Uncle Peter now

So the lesson to everyone else is don't trust decentralised it is a scam. My private key recovery phrase is F**K YOU DECENTRALISED YOU STOLE MY STUFF. You can tell me I shouldn't share my phrase, but I got robbed just from public key so I learned that private key doesn't matter the whole thing is all a scam. Goodnight bitcointalk mic drop.

Let's look at the below steps:
1. I have one million dollar at my house
2. I post an ad to my local newspaper about it
3. Thief came to my house and stole that money
4. Now I blame FED as FED is a scam!

Good Night, Sleep tight and don't let bedbugs bite!

Uhhhh, how exactly? I see now. Robbers knew you own some BTC and knows your address too.

If this story is real, sorry for your loss but telling people to that decentralization is a scam because of carelessness is BS. Being aware of the risks and being 100% responsible of your funds are part of it so don't blame decentralization. Blame the people who robbed your house and even yourself for keeping only one back up when you could have chosen to have two or more then store it somewhere else.

I'm confused with your parable. Someone got into your house because your house key is the public key? Why do you equate your house key with a public key?

I think the correct parable is that the items in your house are like your bitcoin in your wallet and the key to open your door should be the private key. CMIIW

Why do you equate your house key with a public key?
Because when I put it on the public noticeboard it was public. I did that because I decentralised my whole life. This is why I leave my clothes all over the house instead of in the cupboard. But now I don't have the cupboard because the thieves took it and Uncle Peter's eyebrows are getting even worse. You should see them they are truly a sight to behold. Also his nostrils keep flaring a lot I think he needs to calm down it is only a cupboard.

P.S. today is April 01, 2020
I know what day it is. That is about the only thing I know for sure right now. I am so confused about decentralised.

It's your own fault. Your actions have attracted thieves to your home. So don't do it again next time! Hello to uncle Peter Wink

Before you check the outlaws you should check your inlaws first.  - That's what I learned from watching movies. Your Uncle Peter could be just one of those inlaws that act like outlaw. You may really have to investigate your Uncle Peter. Don't worry about his eye brows, I can pull them out for you. I live near a saloon where brazilian wax is almost free.

A very good joke on April 1st Smiley
Cool april fools story bruh,  Grin
It is not a joke and it is rude to call me the fool. But yes I am the fool, I will accept that name because I was a fool to trust decentralised. Blockchain is supposed to be trustless and I was the fool for putting trust in it.

You may really have to investigate your Uncle Peter. Don't worry about his eye brows, I can pull them out for you. I live near a saloon where brazilian wax is almost free.
Thank you for the kind offer but I really need him to keep those eyebrows. They are the best warning signal for when he is about to lose his shit.

And thank you for the tip-off. I did investigate and I found this photo in his wallet. I think he is mugging people. You may be right that he is a criminal and maybe the burglar??? Also why does he wear Aunt Mary's cooking uniform? She doesn't like him doing that because of his left leg is too big and it stretches the fabric.

Hey you can't have your private key phrase as that because you don't choose your phrase by yourself, you have no control over it. If you want your phrase to unlock your keys, then your save the appropriate phrase.  Shocked

Sorry for your loss.
I guess you should have decentralize or properly decentralize your private keys instead of centralizing it(storing on one location). You stored the keys on only one location which is your home, right?  Centralization failed you not Decentralization.
"Decentralize my whole life" should include decentralizing money, private keys etc

Have read several ways to stay safe with ones portfolio and I consider all to be vulnerable to loss. Dont use a single way and wallet to protect you portfolio, engage the portability of this coin. Take different risk that is consider not safe but keep this information only to the trusted fellow. Divide the portfolio into at least 2 (offline and online included). Sadly a lot of bitcoin are without reach in this space because of misplaced keys.

It's funny how you create a story for yourself and call it decentralization SCAM over it. That way I could have created something for dozens of different things.
I can only accept what you say on one condition. We all know that many projects that say they have a decentralized network act on the contrary. But you must be crazy to say SCAM for Bitcoin's blockchain.

This is like posting a map of some hidden treasure in a public place and then being surprised that someone stole your treasure. Pretty nonsense, don't you think? Cheesy

Decentralization means you're on yourself. If you cannot take care of your own stuff, that means you will have to pay one day for your irresponsibility. I'd rather lose my money through some stupid mistake than let it sit inside a banker's pockets.

Man,you have a pretty weird sense of humor. This isn't funny to me.
A "scam" is a the process of lying a victim and manipulating that victim to give the scammer something valuable(money, gold, assets, real estate) in exchange of some false promise that eventually isn't kept(huge profits,etc...).
Learn the difference between scam and robbery. Grin
Keeping all your bitcoins in one wallet(with one private key) seems pretty centralized to me... Grin
Real decentralization means keeping your bitcoins in 128 different wallets with different private keys, hidden in different places around the world. Grin
By the way,do you live with your Uncle Peter in one house?

The replies are getting a bit weird now. I'm going to lock the topic as it's no longer April 01. We don't want this to turn into another Flat Earth thread, do we? Goodnight from me and Mr Serafinowicz.
