Virtual Sports are getting more and more popular among sports bettors these days - for obvious reasons. In this thread I would like to provide some (hopefully useful) information for anyone interested in Virtual Sports and your thoughts will be appreciated. Have you risked money on Virtual Sports? What are your experiences? Anything you would like to share? There is no thread yet related to this topic afaik, which is why I thought lets do one.

With COVID-19 all over the world and almost all championships having been interrupted, people are looking for alternative betting options - besides casino gambling and e-sports.

Disclaimer: The below information is no rocket science - just a basic roundup and personal opinion. Also, this thread is work in progress and will be extended whenever I get to it. Last but not least, self-moderated because it´s not supposed to become a spam party.

How to bet on Virtual Sports

First things first - you will of course need an account on a betting platform that is offering Virtual Sports betting markets. Then you just need to navigate to the specific "Virtual Sports" section, select the sport you are interested in (eg football, basketball, whatever) and pick matches you want to bet on. It´s really as simple as that - still, some attention is needed, which is why I want to try to give some "tips" for Virtual Sports Betting.

Crypto Bookies with Virtual Sports on offer (not affiliated with any of the following gambling sites):

- sportsbet.io
- playbetr.com

Pros and cons of Virtual Sports Betting

Let´s have a quick look at the advantages and disadvantages that come with Virtual Sports, focusing primarily on Virtual Football since that´s definitely the most popular option people are betting on.

Advantages

- Games only last between 2-3 minutes usually
- Little waiting time between games, 2 minutes or so
- Literally available 24/7
- Many sports to choose from, such as Football, Basketball, Tennis, Horse Racing, Cycling etc.
- Lots of betting markets, eg 1x2, Under/Over, Exact Score, Halftime/Fulltime, Handicap etc.
- Some bookies even let you "study" team statistics, virtual sports results since they run league championships, including current standings, team form, previous results etc. As if it was a regular game in a regular league
- Live Streaming available for all Virtual Sports Games

Disadvantages

- Due to the fact that the games have a very short duration, live betting is not available
- You can get carried away pretty easily. The games are consecutive and you need to be careful when choosing your bets
- The "human factor" is non-existent in the results. Basically like playing in a casino, since the results are also coming from a a random number generator (RNG)
- There is more than 6% "Rake" to be paid and in some cases that number goes up to 7%. Rake represents the sure profit of the book, regardless of game result

Tips on "how to win" at Virtual Sports

Before talking about "tips", I really want and need to make that clear that (as in casino games) there is no real strategy on how to win in Virtual Sports. This is gambling as it´s defined by algorithm and RNG. Still, there are some things worth keeping in mind:

- Again, the results are completely based on RNG, which means that they can mean a lot or they can mean nothing, as stupid as this may sound. Statistics in Virtual Sports don´t play as big a role as in real life. The way you look at real match statistics has nothing to do with Virtual Sports and can´t be compared.

- Because we are talking about RNG, your bets must be selected very carefully. Since the games are carried out one after the other, there is a risk that you will be tempted and lose your money faster than you would expect.

- Everyone has their own strategy. Many virtual sports players choose favorites because the odds are usually quite high - most favorites pay over 2.00. If you come across favorites at under 2.00, it's not worth picking them. Please remember, a favorite in real life can´t be compared with Virtual RNG stuff. I also know people who like to put their money on draws because of higher returns. Other prefer to pick the outsiders.

- Truth is that going for outsiders probably makes the most sense (odds of +3.00) or even double chance - again, results are completely based on RNG. Same goes for Under/Over. It may be wise to go for the outsiders when odds are above 2.00.
