Accounting. Isn't that quite simple? Well, that is if prior to gambling you actually do list all of your expenses and the like. I like to keep everything organized and everything planned, down to the last detail so I always take not of every expense that I made during the entire day as well as profits made. I have a little notebook where almost one page is for one whole day only (depends on the number of changes that happened), and I basically list everything there. Payments made, expenses made ( and for what purpose ) profits made and where they actually came from. I tried using spreadsheets but it didn't' really stick to me so I went back to writing it in my little notebook.

do you registerhow much you separate for gambling?
do you see it as an investment?

if yes, how do you track it?
simples spreadsheets, physical notebooks or maybe some different way?
Tracking your loses will only give you a headache but if you are going to use it as your basis to quit your gambling addiction someday then it is good to create a spreadsheet or any form that you are comfortable with. In my situation, one of the game that I play have the statistics that will give you the details on how much you have win/loss within a day,week,bi-monthly,monthly and yearly so I can say that I also saw how much money that I already loss to that game.

I didn't consider it as my investment so I don't mind whether how much I loss in every time I gamble as I always put a limit when I gamble and when I hit my limit then I stop immediately.

Keeping a track of your expenses is always a good idea but you cannot call it as an investment. It is an expense wherein you lose more and gain less.

It is always a good idea to keep a track of the amount you have spent in gambling. I do not do it as I am not into gambling full time. I gamble once or twice in a month and now days I do not feel  like doing it because of the present situation.

do you see it as an investment?
How can someone think gambling is a kind of investment? Does it guarantee you profits or the amount of money?
I never see it as an investment, gambling is a game and the prize is just a bonus. I suggest everybody to not rely on gambling for the future dream. You are better to put your money on Bitcoin or other potential coins.
Talk about differences, this guy was totally different among the other gamblers out there. I see him as an exceptional one, betting his whole life in it. Here's his thread: [AMA] The Life of a Professional Gambler. Try to look on his point of view about gambling, I bet you'll see him as an exceptional one either. I never thought that there were such thing as professional gambler till I see his thread. Don't get me wrong, I don't suggest to rely on gambling, either. It is just that there were amazing people like him who see gambling in different way, I never thought someone would.

Whenever I have spare from my salary I set them as for my miscellaneous activities for partying, going out on weekends, drinking, or even gambling. So, I don't have any amount specifically set aside for gambling. I don't keep track of how much I have spent on gambling because my aim is to enjoy and relieve stress if I would list down all off the amount I have lost I might feel disappointed.

Can anyone recommend any good gambling tracking app (paid or free) for Android or PC? I used one about 3 years ago, but I forget what it's called, and is it even active anymore...

I do keep funds separate for gambling, but i do not keep track of everything. It's just a waste of time to track how much you win and how much you lose ( Also i know very well that i lose more than i win  Tongue ).
I play gambling for fun with less funds so i don't care to keep track for it.

I often use spreadsheets as well as it can easily visualize the current holdings I have in gambloing platforms I use and prefer. Tracking it wasn't difficult if you would log each and every bets and transactions you made so in the mean time or in your spare time you can analyze where did you lose and how did you won. Gambling doesn't require tracks ifyou are just focused on a single platform or a single gambling medium.

I understand that you are questioning about how much money people here are allocating for gambling purposes and spending money for gambling is an investment for a fee for entertainment? I never have a budget for gambling anymore as I have already lost big money in gambling. From my own experience, gambling should not be considered as an investment opportunity hence expecting a return for the money you gamble with, will definitely lead further big losses as you may start chasing your losses if you consider entire gambling as an income stream.

if yes, how do you track it?
simples spreadsheets, physical notebooks or maybe some different way?
When I was an intensive gambler I do track my all gambling activities with a spreadsheet. Because, I gambled at least 5 different gambling houses at a time with different strategies; to keep track of my bankroll and strategies, I needed some references and from that I developed the habit of tracking them with a sheet.

But, I suggest everyone NOT to go in gambling into a level where you need a spreadsheet to keep your records. Just gamble with your least affordable money and then forget it regardless of you make profits or not. Again start as a new gambler with fresh mindset yet with least money and enjoy your gambling and leave it for some time and then repeat!

I am doing it in the past and I think it is not working for me but hear me out first.

I just gamble online for fun and I don't really need to keep tracks on a spreadsheet, all I do is to look in the histories of bets I did on that day. As I said, I am gambling for fun, I don't usually use fiat to gamble unless I am gambling in casinos. I am not addicted so I don't really need it. If you want to check yourself every time that you are gambling, better do a spreadsheet of it or keep track of the histories of your bets.

The main site I gamble on, which is Yolodice, already has a detailed stats page and let's you download your roll history. I look at my stats each day to see how well I am doing and download my history every few weeks for my personal reference.

do you registerhow much you separate for gambling?
Nope. Even when the time I was gambling, I don't register it. I just get a portion of my BTC and deposit it on the gambling site.

do you see it as an investment?
Base on Google, the definition of an investment is "the action or process of investing money for profit or material result."

Base on the definition itself, you can determine if gambling is an investment already or not. We invest money in gambling so that we can get a profit right? So gambling = investment.

if yes, how do you track it?
simples spreadsheets, physical notebooks or maybe some different way?
No tracking, no spreadsheets, no notebooks, no nothing Cheesy.

In fact I don't but that is because I don't gamble for large sums. I use extra money from my income that I will not miss, these arw not the sane sums all the time but I don't need some records.
Otherwise I think that it's good for large players to have evidence how much they put in game, win and loose. Sometimes when you see the sum of money that went into gambling you'll know if you spend too much and if that is leading you to the wrong way.

I guess keeping track of ones bettings could actually help people avoid the addictions, betting without being profitable and betting with amount they can't afford to lose.
By the way, I thought online casinos keep these records for bettors? They could be useful for addicts and those without profitability in mind.

Yes. I use google spreadsheet to track my gambling. There are a couple of strategy that I have placed into set which goes as a rule. And there are few more things I'm experimenting with. I think I have no difference between investment and gambling as almost all of my crypto coins has gone into one sort of gambling or other and I dream of generating a steady profit from gambling in future.

I have started with just a note in order to find where I am going with this gambling and to see if I am gaining. But I'd find out that it seems not a useful thing do in my part because I am just a casual gambler and I only have to gamble when I feel stress or when I have free time. I don't know if the majority of the gamblers will do like this, having a list of their losses could something to tell you that gambling isn't an investment nor you can make money from it.

I used to do it back then when I would gamble as a source of income. It was so nerve wrecking seeing the losses I would sometimes make but right now I do gamble majorly for the purposes of fun or entertainment with my spare money so there is no need of me creating records anymore.

how did it work out on having gambling as a source of income?
could you have a stable payment every week/month or it varied a lot?

and what were the games you played?

I keep track ang make a spreadsheet for my investment and I don't consider gambling as an investment. I only keep track on how much money I have started to gamble with in the beginning of the game just to see how much I lost or win after playing.

Whenever I have spare from my salary I set them as for my miscellaneous activities for partying, going out on weekends, drinking, or even gambling. So, I don't have any amount specifically set aside for gambling. I don't keep track of how much I have spent on gambling because my aim is to enjoy and relieve stress if I would list down all off the amount I have lost I might feel disappointed.
thats why i see no good reason why we need to keep track of our Gambling expenses when we already know that more on losing than the wins.

i remember for a week back then i tried to track my losses and what gives me?frustration and regrets when the truth is i just wanna gamble for fun and not for the profit.

but of course i i win?i will be happy and may enjoy more things in weekends.

I do track my losses and winnings in order to make adjustments. If I would observe that I am being too far from my 'limits' every week, I will assure changes that would benefit me on not having bigger losses. I do want to track in which games I do lose more and to where I am earning but there are only few games in which I will engage myself with so I just focus the tracking with the profit or losses in accordance with the limits that I mentioned. The limits I am referring to are the amount of money I am using in gambling both in daily and weekly basis. This enhance my self-control and also, helps me to avoid gambling addiction in such way.

Maybe he earned huge money from gambling for him to say that gambling is his source of income which is not applicable to all gambler. Not all gamblers are lucky enough to win continuously or more often to most of the gamblers. It is only determined by one's fate and this thing is not advisable. Gambling should just be a source of enjoyment or leisure and not a source of income.

do you registerhow much you separate for gambling?
do you see it as an investment?

if yes, how do you track it?
simples spreadsheets, physical notebooks or maybe some different way?
Yes, I always try to record how much money I used for gamblimg.

I don't see it as an investment since there is no guarantee that I will win every time I play. The way how I track the money I used for gambling is simply I record it on an excel file including the date, its value and whether if I win or not.
