I would like to know if the project still active and secure today in April 2020 because I don't see a lot of activity on the forum and I read that the project didn't have so much contributors and was inactive now

You can visit their github page https://github.com/theQRL, the last commit was 1 hour ago upon visiting and posting here. So that means they have at least development and they have some updates on their twitter handle https://twitter.com/QRLedger
