Suggestions for online gamblers

After reading replies from some threads on this gambling discussion board, I see that many people have already delivered suggestions related to various problems of gamblers. Now, it depends on us to follow or ignore the suggestions. Or we can take a look at the suggestions that are suitable for our problems. Here are below:

1. You shouldn't spend much money because it will harm the family. (Limit your funds)
2. You must have good self-control, it is one of the keys to be successful in gambling.
3. You mustn't get loans, you will be trapped in debt at the end.
4. After you can win in a gambling game, you are better to stop (break for a while). Don't be greedy to push your luck!
5. Don't expect much to win in gambling, most of them are luck-based. Think rationally!
6. Don't spend all your time gambling, have enough time for family, friends, and society.
7. Etc

Let me add something that based on my opinion.

• Don't gamble if you are depressed, stress or something has negative emotion in your self.
• Always think gambling is a form of entertainment, not a way of making money
• Always set a time limit of how long your session in gambling
• Decide to stop when you are in a win-win situation, the more time you gamble, a big chance to lose.

A lot of this advice applies to normal gamblers that play on land based casinos too. But the main thing I see is that with quarantines in place, people will throw money away through online gambling if because they're bored, lose, then continually redepositing because there isn't anything else to do. Have fun with gambling but don't depend on it to occupy all of you're time because it can become an expensive hobby.

These suggestions are good and this is how gamblers should be, however, these are easier said than done. Most gamblers are aware of the effect gambling addiction and they also know the do's and dont's to avoid getting addicted. However, greed always comes first. For example, if I win, I want to push my luck further to maximize the money I can take home. If I lose, I will try to win back my money so I can stop gambling with no losses. Each scenario has the same result, which is younlosing your money and wasting your time.

It's good to see this words of advice here but actually that's not happening in reality since still many gamblers do what you are saying since they want to have a money for capital in gambling  because there are still people denying to accept the fact that they are got affected to much by their vices.  But if this suggestions will be followed we can't see our neighbors selling their stuff and other things around  .

All advices you gave are good practices for a disciplined gamblers however people forget that once they are already in that situation. If we'll summarize it, I think it'll be compress into one advice which is not to be greedy and discpline yourself. At the end of the day, what really matters in gambling is how you enjoy the game and how profitable you are regardless if you're greedy gambler or not.

Right, this suggestions also applies if you are a traditional gamblers as well. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic, many of us is affected and very well be prioritising things in life now. And the lock down could lead us to contemplate what is going on with our life specially our gambling activity in the past.

So it is very important that we should limit our spending right now specially in gambling as the future is bleak and there could be recession. Maybe some of us have lost their job because of the pandemic, so for gamblers out there, I will just advise to just take it easy and watch out the money that you are going to spend with your gambling.

I think there's no need for further discussion. As you said you already see what other people suggested and advice to those who have various problems in doing gambling on other threads.

Those listed suggestions are basic things to follow and actually, should be an automatic approach by each of a gambler. It's just that there are people who still fall on the trap even they already know those basic things since gambling effects are hard to resist. More of taking risks compare to being on a safe spot as it's really tempting to engage in high risks, high rewards scheme. Suggestions are not enough, these gamblers must experience the bad sides of doing gambling for them to learn.

I think not all of the gamblers right now are actually gambling. Think of it as a food, not all of us eat burgers. What I mean is that people don't eat what they like, they might be forced to do things they are not used to but I think most of the gamblers right now are not finding n alternative and so bored right now in their houses. I guess we can also suggest that, don't find an alternative it increses the risk of you losing especially if you don't know the game.

Aside from those points above you had mentioned then i would suggest not to forget the golden rule when we do gamble which is "Dont gamble on the amount that you cant afford to lose"
this had always been said and reminded for those who do gamble because if you cant easily accept that you do lose money then it would end up for you to chase losses

Recheck above! I said "some threads", not all threads as it is a bit impossible. That's why I still need any feedback to complete or add another one (if any).
Also, I think to discuss the suggestion to gamblers is a good thing, why stop it? At least, remind all gamblers about it.

That's a basic thing but not easy to do, right? As it is a basic thing, it means an important thing. Some people may forget or others may don't know as they are newbies. So, in my opinion, we need to remind all gamblers about it. But if you think some people have already mastered it and have no single problem, just skip reading.

I think what the OP is trying to point out is that with current pandemics, gambler should rethink their options right now.

Yes, it's basic even casino themselves have this sort of advise.  But guess what, many are still falling for it, why? because it is very hard to follow specially if you got hooked on gambling. But with this whole Covid-19 scare, gamblers should be mindful of their money, we are in a difficult times and we really don't know how long this lock-down will last because it is really affecting most of us and this is perhaps what's the reason why the OP started this thread.

Always follow the golden rule because you will become part of the people who have huge debt or people who mostly lose their minds because they cannot control their own emotions. People are allocating too much and they are just expecting profit and not losses, gambling is game of luck and chances and there is no sure win here so all of the people who want to gamble their money should expect losses here.

You really hit all the do's in gambling especially if you are only playing for fun. In my case this is what I am doing in order to avoid being addicted and losing too much but with regards to your number 4 suggestions, I always forget it as I always continue the game even if I win a good amount of money already especially if I still have time as I usually gamble for fun and as a past time.

If we will just follow these, we will be a good gambler and we can avoid being addicted to it and what I really hate are those people who ask for loans just to gamble and those people who have no self control especially in limiting the money for gambling.

 This is the one that is most significant. We shouldn't forget to spend quality time with our loved ones either family or friends. I honestly forget sometimes to have a bond with my family because I am overwhelm sometimes with the fun cause by this gambling sites.
 This to remind us that we should always put our family in our prirority list first. As we aren't aware that the bond and the rapport are slowly fading because of gambling.
 
 Those tips you have mentioned were all useful for a typical gambler who are forgetting the right track as a good gambler. If those mentioned aboved were forgotten, addiction comes in remember that.

yes all of those suggestion are worth it and enough i guess  . i know there are still many to add in but most of those will still fall on those 6 category that you already listed on the op  . spending too much is okay as long as you can afford to loose it all and as long as you dont have a family to feed on   . this tip  is think the hardest one to folllow for me because i have already a family which means i cant  play the way that i want to because of limited budget but in the end i realized that i could feel uncomfortable if i loose and cant provide money for my famiily  . the rest are easily doable for me

IMO point #2 covers all the other points already and probably cover all the other suggestions which is not yet mentioned. Once you have good self-control then everything will be good as you can control your money, time, feeling, greed, etc.
Frankly speaking, I do not really like your words "keys to be successful in gambling" as it can be something subjective. The word success may mean difference from one to another especially it is related to gambling. I still believe that most people thinks that success in gambling is when they win big.

This is the main problem of most gamblers nowadays,

They always spend too much time in gambling without realizing that they have forgot to have enough time with their family. Even I have experienced this before, where I don't give any of my time with my family since I am more focus on playing.

These 2 is relatively the same because if you have no Self control then you cannot Limit your Money to be spent in gambling.

again this is connected in Self Control because you will not stand in table specially when you are winning because greed will take over your mind.

I think the list says it all. It all depends on gamblers how will they handle their time and money when gambling because no matter what advice or principles they set when gambling, in the end, they will break it. Self-control, discipline, and your will not be driven by greed will save you from being addicted to gambling.

Dont trust the strategy 100%. Yes, strategy is the gamblers attempt to win every bet and game they play. I just think that everyone has their own way of gambling and if a gambler fully believes in strategy and risks everything on one occasion, then I am very sure they will get more harm than they might win. Although the strategy is not a prohibited effort, but if you entrust it 100% to get the victory I think you are wrong because there is no strategy that can guarantee the gambler to win at every opportunity.
