I accidentally sent BCH from Uphold wallet to BTC address of my Ledger wallet !! my BCHs are stuck in the blockchain and are "unspent". Uphold told me he has no responsibility. Ledger's support is not responding, how can I recover them? Thanks

What kind of address did you send to? A legacy (1..), nested SegWit (3...) or native SegWit (bc1...) address? You will be able to recover your coins easily if you sent them to a legacy or a multi-sig address (which isn't available in Ledger Live).

Unfortunately, since Bitcoin Cash is not compatible with SegWit, it will be quite to difficult to recover your funds. You won't be able to do it without help of a miner. Try contacting BTC.com. They might be able to help you with that.

you should be warned that that if you reveal your redeem script or public key then anybody can claim your bcash coins for themselves because the "nested SegWit" or the P2SH-P2WPKH scripts are simply the hash of the following redeem script: OP_0 <20 bytes>. since bcash doesn't have SegWit it evaluates this redeem script as a simple push of data which always evaluates to true and doesn't need any signature.
so all they have to know is the 20 byte hash or the public key to hash and then claim the coins as their own.

There're some bch miners on reddit, you could make a post on there and they should be able to help you out.

Try contacting BTC.com. They might be able to help you with that.
That service is no longer available, however he can still contact btc.com by sending them an email on admin@btc.com (according to the site).

Or they could take everything for themselves. OP needs to be careful who he trusts at this time, especially over social media.

@Everyone
Has BTC.com been willing to do this successfully in the past? I am not really following the sent BTC to wrong address industry.

AFAIK, they seem to be doing this service for 10% fee of what has been struck in the BTC wallet. But as pooya87 pointed out, providing the public key will give the miners control over the OP's coins. But there isn't any way for OP other than providing them the public key of the Bitcoin Address generated by Ledger Wallet. Prior in 2018 when the btc.com were recovering funds, they were in need of 3 data to be submitted by the person who has lost the bch.

Quote
  • BCH tx hash on Segwit address
  • Public key of the Ledger Bitcoin Address
  • Address to receive recovered BCH

They still do follow the same procedure I guess. Hence, OP should drop a mail to admin@btc.com with the following info.

P.S If anyone in need to older webpage, here is a cached version of it from archive.org

That is good to know in case anyone needs such services. In that case I think OP can feel relatively safe sending them the data they are looking for. If it's the same team that has provided those services in the past, he is good to go.
