Did you an increase in hashrate and/or decrease in power consumption? Any chance you'd post screen shots of the interface/your results?
Ok, I took the plunge... here is the skinny:
1.) There are still 3 modes. Low, normal and turbo.
2.) Low mode starts out at "low" and only allows you to UNDERCLOCK frequency in 1 TH steps down to -20TH from where the machine normally hashes at this setting
3.) Turbo mode starts out at "turbo" and only allows you yo OVERCLOCK frequency in 1TH steps up to +20TH from where the machine normally hashes at this setting
4.) Normal remains unchanged.
5.) The machine still auto-tunes voltage, not entirely sure how yet, I'll need to reboot a bunch more times and look at kernel log
So real life example:
I have an S17 50T and here are the pre-firmware stats:
Low = 40.5 TH/s and 1750w at the wall (43w/TH)
Normal = 51 TH/s and 2300w at the wall (45w/TH)
Turbo = 57 TH/s and 2650w at the wall (46w/TH)
Post firmware:
I dropped 10TH for low power, it autotuned very quickly, less than 5 minutes and came up with this
Low = 30.5 TH/s and 1150w at the wall (38w/TH) pretty good under-clock I thought, so I tried -20TH just to see and it wouldn't hash. put it back to -10 and viola 30.5 TH/s and 1150w at the wall. Not bad.
So let's see what overclocking did...
I tried +10TH and it autotuned for 20 minutes or so only to return normal turbo speed (57TH/s) and voltages, so I tried again at +5TH, same result. I tried at +2TH and...
Turbo = 59TH/s and STILL 2650w at the wall (45w/TH) well that's an interesting result!
Encouraged, I pushed it to +4TH and it reverted back to normal turbo speed (57TH/s) again.
I tried +3TH and normal turbo again. Giving up, I went back to +2TH and, WHAT?!?! normal turbo. I can't seem to get it to OVERCLOCK AGAIN!!!! I'll keep working on this and pouring through the kernel to see what's up.
So to sum up, this firmware seems to be good for under-clocking, but is very limited for overclocking, at least on my machine.
And any pool you try that isn't the specified antpool, returns "dead."
Waiting for my sd card to arrive in the mail so i can re flash firmware and try something else.
