I'm afraid it's quite the opposite: we shouldn't underestimate the power of a government. They let us be for the moment but I'm really wondering if they will do the same in the following years. If India was able to ban Bitcoin along with other countries and there was no civil unrest, I am honestly afraid a Bitcoin ban would only be followed by very small and non-significant protests that would result in.. nothing!

The only thing we can do is try to keep following the path we've started (mine is to keep believing in and supporting BTC) and hope a ban or harsher regulations aren't coming.

Although their authorities to get on their seats came from our votes (if democracy is being exercise) once they established a law, it will be absolute, and defying would mean into punishment that is how it will work. Government is the most powerful authority a country has, you must remember that. Beside, they won't hold back to ban it as if the whole country totally depends in it. In addition

Time could really tell everything, we need time and space because everything in crypto is really unpredictable. If we are going to take a look back on year 2009 there is no way to say that bitcoin could reaches its price today. From what we've seen so far there's almost no question about the future of cryptocurrency in general. This is much too of an innovative concept which solves the cause issue of the financial system like corruption and so on. Yes you are right i think. You will see, government could not prevent cryptocurrency transaction where strictly prohibited to use by central bank. But people using it silently. As a result government losing their revenue. But must think that, if there a guideline, people would follow that and revenue also would come. I think gradually all government will realize it and cryptocurrency acceptance will spread.

The people are the government, remember. The officials of government are collectively chosen from the people to represent the larger population. So, until those who love Bitcoin at heart are chosen into government the situation isn't going to change tremendously. Now imagine getting top members of BTT in the majority into government of their respective countries. Your guess is as good as mine of the direction Bitcoin legislation will go.

I think the whales are not the real enemies here. Being a whale is not a mistake nor a curse for the others, actually they are helping the market to rise. Well, we can say that what benefits their actions the most are themselves of course but at the end of the day they are all called adopters like us (small investors). Yes, time will tell. The government cannot deny the cryptocurrency although they don't accept it right now. There will be more adoption in all countries, and the government will see that bitcoin will be used as the payment method. Perhaps, they cannot see it happens in reality but they can see it happens on the internet as we will see that the merchant trying to add cryptocurrency as an alternative payment. I prefer to see cryptocurrency can work together with fiat money, and people have a right to choose what payment system they want to use to pay the products.

I think that due to the current situation, Bitcoin will have more recognition and uses worldwide. But we have good news. Well, tbh, I'm more opt right now to a mix of both as useful for my everyday life. I mean, yea, I was at first hoping for full integration of a system run by a community, but erm, this might ruin the entire concept of development which is done by the government. Yes there are tons of friggin corruption done here and there, much so that accounts of usages of tax and the like aren't most likely equal to the ones they are showing. The idea of crypto is innovative, as you can see with how many companies and countries are thinking of the idea itself and how they could put it to their advantage, but as a country itself, without the support of a governing body (even if it wasn't the government, some other form or something idk), improvement of facilities and faculties of different parts might be difficult. I'd be more favored to the idea of BTC erm, changing the position of USD as the top? maybe? but still, countries have their own currency to be used for daily transactions.

The governments will soon realize that since Bitcoin is the money chosen by the people themselves with absolute freedom and without the slightest amount of coercion, they will recognize it. Bitcoin is not something imposed on us by some kind of government or ruling power and authority. It is there not even calling us. It is just right there sitting passively as an alternative to what is globally accepted. And yet people freely choose it. We are the ones who will show and demonstrate to the governments that we are choosing Bitcoin.

As long as the people who are in their respective governments can also make money off it, we won't see any strong regulations trying to kill or stop crypto. The honest truth is there is too much tax money, jobs and industry around crypto now to kill it without damaging yourself more.

Financial freedom is important most especially if your intention is to help other people in times of need. The government should really know the true value of bitcoin in the economy because it will really increase or improve their economic state once implemented in their market. Unfortunately, the reason why some of the countries are still not legalizing the cryptocurrency in their economy is because of the mindset that they have in crypto and fiat. Maybe they think that cryptocurrency is just a scam that's why they never try to explore, and study it. We are the one who can change that mindset by promoting and advertising the true advantage and effect of crypto to the community and economy of a country. Here's one thing. We need to make the government understand the advandltage of bitcoin over fiat (I know you'll say that they are aware already, and that why they are playing deaf ears) but then, that's almost the only way. No matter what we do, if all government says that they do not want bitcoin to he used by their citizens, bitcoin would fall and break to pieces because it'll have a lower demand. In summary, I believe the government have more power than we do. I don't even think we can win this in a protest. We need the government to cooperate too for bitcoin to bloom better. Amen

you are right.. bitcoin& some other cryptocurency  will be made future payments used in many country,i think... its can be good choise beside save a golds... but they have a high fluctuation price.. so beware used your money fwhen playying crypto

The people's power will strengthen Bitcoin?Really? 98% of all Bitcoin users are using BTC only for the perspective of making more money.If that perspective is gone,they will dump Bitcoin pretty fast.
I guess you are overestimating the "power of the people".
Anyway,regulations should be followed,only if they are good for the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
If they are bad,all the hardcore BTC supporters(probably 2% of all BTC users) will move into the darkweb and continue using BTC.

I guess the government will consider looking to this one since the outbreak was clearly a sign of declining economy, not only because fiat requires a physical contact but bitcoin helps through times like this, a lot. Massive adoption is what I'm talking about, even with or without this pandemic the government should offer their people the best possible ways of living, and it is easy with cryptocurrencies. Being optimistic isnt bad but we know that government doesnt really like Bitcoins existence thats why we have seen that each country does have its own view towards bitcoin- Some do recognize it but
most of them totally ban it or getting rid of.

Bitcoin is a thing that opposes centralization on where government is doing.So its just normal for them to have such measure since they do know the threat that can impose against them.
Adoption is on the move though but we cant totally see its total potential as long there would be blockage from the government..

They won't do that if many people use bitcoin, and I think the government will know about that. They will consider lifting the ban if people like to use bitcoin because they will think about the people's power that can push them to accept bitcoin. The government are not appreciating of bitcoin because they don't learn bitcoin yet or they do not yet found the advantages of bitcoin to their country. The government will support bitcoin one day, and we don't have to worry. Meanwhile, we need to focus on making more and more bitcoin from now on, so when the time comes, we will be ready, and we can sell our bitcoin.
