Hey guys, I am paying $20 for someone to find me a safe wallet to store some ETH / BTC for my company to do payments whith. The main problem we have right now is that we found no wallet that actually keeps track of $ it used to be when a transaction is received or sent. As the BTC and ETH prices fluctuate a lot it doesn't help for later accounting having to go back and see what the price was then to determine how much we sent and received then.
We are not looking to use Coinbase as they would KYC us the minute we use them just something like blockchain.com where you can freely receive and send coins from.
Thanks already in advance, first to reply with a good one gets $20

If you want to have both Bitcoin and Ethereum in one wallet, you can use Exodus. If you click on each of transactions, two prices are displayed. One of them is the current price and another one is the price on the date of transaction. Note that Exodus is not open-source. Although, I haven't heard any complaint about its security, I don't recommend it for storing large amounts. (Exodus give you the private key. But we don't know if they have access to our private keys.) Some other users of the forum may come with better suggestions. Thanks already in advance, first to reply with a good one gets $20
No need.

Let us clear a thing, the value in USD when received/send or the current USD price for the value you send or receive.
You can see the USD or many fiat values even in electrum desktop or mobile apps as well, all you need to do is to go to Tools => Preference => fiat => (select the source)Coinbase or similar sites

Electrum does the job perfectly for bitcoin. You will be able to see all the historical BTC payments in USD too at the time of the transaction. To set this up click on the preference tab at the bottom right of the wallet window, click on the fiat tab and the check the "Show history Rates" box You will be able to see something like this All the Multicurrency wallets i know of don't do that

Not only useful for OP but also useful for me, this is great I never knew about this feature before, you gave me a new knowledge. I believe there are many people like me But more importantly, is there a way to set a price source? There are only 4 sources seen here and no Coinbase as described by Findingnemo

I guess you are using an older version of the electrum?!

To @OP: You must differentiate between the fact that the portfolio is safe and economic analysis of currencies. The most secure wallets are wallets whose private key is generated out of the internet connection (Air-Gapped Computer,) and therefore Hardware wallets are the most secure (Ledger & Trezor.) You can import the public key or (xpub) of the wallet and then track these currencies safely through any application. Generally, if the company wants to pay directly, try https://btcpayserver.org/ or https://coingate.com/. If you want to have both Bitcoin and Ethereum in one wallet, you can use Exodus.
With all the risks you mentioned below, it is bad for Exodus to be considered as a safe wallet.

No, I always update the latest version to my wallet It is strange, there is no way this feature can be restricted to anyone, but I don't have a lot of pricing options there I really really dont understand

I would also like to add that you can use any wallet you want, and then simply check your transactions using Etherscan and Blockchain.com. Both of these explorers allow you to check values at the time of the transaction. It is strange, there is no way this feature can be restricted to anyone, but I don't have a lot of pricing options there I really really dont understand I also have the same thing as Findingnemo, 11 price source.

If you are looking for the accounting only, I guess there are explorer through which you can get the total sent/received value at the time of transacted, I can't remember any of the explorer which have the option to check value at the time of transacted (Will add one if I get). But if you have different invoices, in that case, I recommend Electrum as the best option for BTC. I have no idea on ETH though since I wouldn't recommend Exodus at all because of its close source code.

Blockchain.info/com used to have that feature, I haven't used it in a while so I don't really know if it's still active. Hardware wallets let you have both BTC and ETH stored in the same device; and from what I've used on my Trezor it's the option I'd suggest to OP. What I can't recall is whether the fiat values showed on the Trezor.io web app were the ones at the moment of receiving/sending or the current ones. I'd check it, but since the lockdown has left me in another city to the one my HW is stored, I really can't try it.

I spend a lot of time finding this by myself but I realized simple google search might give me a reason in less than a sec. the same question has been asked and answered in reddit a year ago.

LoL Hahaaaaa, what a surprise! I marked the Show history rate after reading this topic. Accidentally, this made me fall into an error without my knowledge Thanks for your great effort to help me find it, it would be nice if I could send you some merit, but unfortunately, I am out of smerit now But I also find it difficult to understand if I cannot have multiple price source when selecting Show history rate, so what are the effects of price sources when they cannot be displayed

logfiles got there first, but yeah, that's just one of the many reasons I love Electrum. Yeah, I know, it's not the best, but for a lightweight client, it's chockful of control and useful features other seemingly more sophisticated clients just don't.
P.S. I was going to suggest looking up your transaction at blockchain.info as this would give you the historical value of ANY transaction on blockchain, as Electrum would only show the value of your wallet txs, but I see now they no longer have that information. It used to be, you hover your mouse over the current value and it would show the historical dollar value at the time of transaction. Anyone know of any explorer that does this now? Blockchair doesn't seem to.

Look at my post above. BC still offers that feature: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/65139b691c6eeca314596bc41ff895b0668038d1e5ba9264c58b7f278e90a441Scroll down to the last field in "details".

all wallets that i use have always have that feature . you can see eth/btc or any supported crypto on your wallet and then you below or beside them you can see a value based on your local currency or based on the currency that you have set on the setting .
if not then we can always look the value of our coins on google . wallets should also show the current value of the cryptos so we should have an edge with that before we send something

You are welcome OP, thanks too for the appreciation but no need to send me the money I was just trying to help out... That's what this community is all about.

He was looking for a wallet that can show the value of BTC in fiat currency at the time the BTC or ETH was received or sent out probably for records purposes since the crypto price is very volatile and keeps changing each day.
