The trickery has been facing around the world especially on what we are facing right now, well that is how the mind of scammers and hackers works, they will take advantage on what we are facing now because they know that there would be so many people who will be tricked because they have thoughts that people would take this one because they are now suffering.

"The good thing is that the FBI or the (Federal Bureau of Investigation) warns everyone that fraudsters and scammers are about to unleash a surge of coronavirus cryptocurrency scams."

“Fraudsters are leveraging increased fear and uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic to steal your money and launder it through the complex cryptocurrency ecosystem,” the FBI said, and they’re targeting victims regardless of their age.

Scammers are so great on fooling so many people they don't care even you are under age or anything, money are the only thing they want so they would not think if they would steal money from unfortunate people. So always be careful and be wise on visiting some restricted websites, clicking some advertisement because based on my experience those are the things where you can get the malware and some of the malware are made by hackers and scammers.

I just wanna list down the things you may do to avoid being scammed that I have read on the article.
1. Spot imposters - Always be careful on trusting anyone on your surroundings because most of the time the one who is closed to you are the one that will fool you. It happens most of the time, money is so powerful, they will do things just to steal it on you.
2. Do Online searches - This is what I always do when visiting some websites, especially when it is about investing or trading websites because some of the websites are scam and in order to avoid it, you should search some reviews or information about it.
3. Don’t believe your caller ID - Scammers are so great, they can create a credible account, so always be careful on talking to someone especially when it talks about money.
4. Don’t pay upfront for a promise - This are the common things that may happen when you win on some websites and they are sending message that before you claim the prize, you have to input first money. Do not believe on that, that can be scammed.
5. Talk to someone - Always do double checking, you may ask on your friends or to someone that you can talk to, ask if you are doing the right thing. Some of their advise are really good.

Community members have already been able to discern which is which weeks ago, and have already posted guidelines to know whether a 'donation fund' is a scam or not. As always, just stay vigilant and do searches, cross-references and just donate to official sources which can easily be found in the interwebs and such.

It's just appalling that even in times like these, nefarious beings still roam and try to deceive people out of their own hard-earned money by masking it using donations to the needy.

@jseverson I’ll second that considering FBI choose to gave a warning for crypto says it all that crypto is gaining lots of recognition these days, and maybe it even believes that people are using more crypto’s than fiat.

Well said mate, both cryptoworld and real life world experienced being scammed by many people, well that is life, there are always negative and positive that we may experience, but you are the one who will decide which one you will get. Be knowledgeable enough so no one will fool you, everything happens for a reason.
To prevent negative things in your life, you should do some positive things,  it is not the thing "opposite attracts", in our life if we do positive things we will receive positive things as a result.
Always be careful on who are you talking to. Be wise enough to identify who is the devil and the angel one.

Countries like USA, China, Germany and UK are very important to the space especially with the value of currency and the size of economy. Any comment from America security agents on cryptocurrency is a type of advert for the space and could increase adoption with newer investors. With the period so far, cryptocurrency and gold are still the only asset to withstand the pressure of price dump from the crisis. The covid-19 situation has given the scammers a good opportunity to scam the people.
But I think it's not new for the crypto users since scammers are finding new ways to scam people every year.

I was already expecting things like this to start happening , because I know for sure that there are people who will decide to use this opportunity as a means to start reaping others off their hard earned money. These thieves do not have a single human empathy in them, so they are always ready to do whatever they want just to make that money.

It is up to us to be very careful. If you're the type of person that has enough money and you're looking for ways to support others by making donations and whatsoever, it shouldn't be a difficult thing to do. There are already lots of organizations that are well known, you can make donations through them. We have the World Health Organization, Red Cross, Save a Child and UNICEF. This is a careful time indeed. Even with projects that are going to run under the name of corona either as a token or what, is just a time to be vigilant. Many people are likely going to solicit for fund and sending their wallet address as a survival of covid-19 or their family. I think we need to watch out for all those kind of scam.

I won't be donating from my cryptos from now on, and if I would do donations, I would consider using my paper money instead and let it fly to the authorities instead.

I think an important thing they're not telling people but should is about fake official emails. The article mentions asking for donations via email but doesn't warn that even if the email seems to be sent from an official legit domain of a famous institution (like the WHO), it can still be a scam. It's something which isn't obvious to everyone, and that's why informing people about it is so important. There have been news around the globe about a certain group of individuals that scammed over 1.5million € in the name of coronavirus kits. They also should go after with the creator of fake donation email named after COVID saying it is for the people who are struck by the virus. I don't know why these people are happily scamming others in light  with hopelessness due to the pandemic, they are so cruel. But I know that everyone has had enough with this kind of environment So I assume that there is just only a few that will fall to those scams right?

2.Do online research.-I always do that.You have to be a complete retard in order to avoid doing this nowadays.

3.Caller ID-Usually,I don't talk with strangers about money.Even if I do,I don't give them any money.

It is really hard to trust people nowadays, there are some scammers who uses good image just to fool people and persuade them to send money or crypto to them. During this pandemic, fundraising is very common most especially when we know people are suffering and some poor people needs help and support to survive this pandemic. There are some fundraising camp who seek for donation just to help other people but there are fundraisers who are legit and scammers. We need to be careful in sending money and giving help to support poor people, we should check the legitimacy of the said fundraising organization so that we will not be fooled by them. We should check their license or if they are connected to the authority or the government.
