Am I totally miscalculating or will these ASICs never break even? I just used whattomine for the 30S++ at 10 cents and the breakeven is at about 21 years.

10 cent mining is not viable at this time due to price of Bitcoin and recent halving.

used to be 10 cent mining ⛏ was okay.

as you see it is not.

this gear takes longer  then a year with 5 cent power.

Bitcoin mining is no longer profitable on 'normal' / typical home electric rates. Unless you have free power or extremely cheap power, you would never break even. If Bitcoin sees a huge bull-run (significant increase in price) this could change of course but it seems the days of profitable mining at home are over.

A 10 cent a kwatt home miner is doing so for reasons other than profit.

Yea, but it's also odd to be concerned on ROI with gear with a kwh rate that high.

Could be he just was fixing on an older time.

It is pretty much a 1-5 cent a kwatt game now.

Considering the current price and availability of Bitmain's S19's...... this has popped up on my radar https://whatsminer.net/product/m31splus-80t-presale-april2021/

M31s+

and it available a whole lot sooner.

But I've only run Bitmain gear and have no experience with MicroBT gear.  Just looking at one unit, so I can run a circuit just for that with the higher watts/amps.

Edit: but now I'm seeing different websites. Whatsminer.net vs .com.    Oh, the fun of navigating scam sites

We are very satisfied with these units.  We have the mid tier M31s.

If anyone knows where to find any of  these units in stock, please share.
