hey everyone I hope you doing well,
I have an issue about my old wallet, it's been a while since the last time I used bitcoin. and I reset my pc and I remember my wallet was in electrum.
in the meanwhile the bitcoin address is also related to my bitcointalk account.
all I remember is that I attached an address to my blockchain wallet that I still have access to it. so is there a way to find out if it's the same bitcoin address related to my blockchain wallet. and if not how can change my bitcointalk address as I remember it's not allowed to change it.
and thank you

... Check your blockchain.com wallet against your account?

There's no restriction on what address you display on Bitcointalk. In fact, I doubt many people actually use the address on their profile as their main address. If you're talking about whether you can change your staking address, just stake a new address and I don't think anyone would really care about it.

so is there a way to find out if it's the same bitcoin address related to my blockchain wallet.
Log in to your blockchain.com wallet, click on "Settings" at the upper right, then "Wallets & Addresses", and it will show you a list of all the addresses you have imported. As far as I am aware, blockchain.com wallets don't support SegWit address though, so if the address your are looking for is the "bc1..." one from your profile, then it won't be in your blockchain.com wallet.

and if not how can change my bitcointalk address as I remember it's not allowed to change it.
If you are staking a new address, then it is good practice to sign a message from your previously staked address to remove some of the doubt regarding the account being sold or otherwise changing hands (although staked addresses can obviously also be sold along with accounts).

If you still have the old Electrum seed, you should be able to you should be able to simply recover it using Electrum. This is however not reccomended (unless you're going to recover funds) because you'll have exposed that seed. If you imported the addresses into blockchain.info/com, you should be able to get their private keys on the Wallet--Addresses tab; you can't export the private keys of blockchain addresses, but you can export the ones you've imported.

I'm not really sure about your objective here tough

I found the address attached to my blockchain wallet so I can receive to it as well.
Be careful about this. Blockchain.com lets you import both addresses and private keys. If you have imported the address only then it will be marked in your blockchain.com wallet as "Non-Spendable". You won't be able to spend any coins received to that address through your blockchain.com wallet, and will need to have that address and its associated private key in another wallet (or have the associated seed phrase). If you don't have the private key in another wallet, then any coins you receive on that address will be stuck there forever.

If you have imported a private key, then the "Non-Spendable" label will be missing, and when you click on "More Options" in your blockchain.com wallet, you should be shown an option to view the private key.

Reading previous posts in this thread, I feel that you worry about being accused of not being the real owner of your account if you change that address.
The address shown in your profile is 1H2MwhKRRgg8SAqQ4rvFnwr9s3MBRsAqqc.

Even if you are accused of not being the real owner of your account, you cannot prove your ownership using this address. Because you have never used it before.  I checked your post history and couldn't find that address. The balance of that address is also zero. So, I don't think there is any benefit in having control of that address.

You have signed message from a different address.

Perhaps you have changed your profile address recently and you are trying to gain access to that segwit address, so you can prove your ownership in future in case of being accused.
If this is the case, I am sure that address doesn't belong to blockchain wallet. Because blockchain wallet doesn't support segwit.

If it's windows 10 OS after reset you can still access the old file from AppData.
You can find it under Windows.old folder.

This is what I'm talking about

There you can find the old AppData where your old Electrum folder saves. Just get the wallet file as your backup if you don't have the backup seed and install a new Electrum and then import the wallet file.
Now, you can export the seed phrase from Electrum after you import the wallet file.

It would be easier if you know if you still have access to that wallet address in your Electrum account not in your Blockchain.com account. Knowing the address is not enough to know if you still have the ability to send that Bitcoin you have received from that address. Before you do anything with that address in terms of receiving BTC to it, I would recommend you to try first accessing your Electrum wallet via your seed phrases if you still have it. If you failed to recover your Electrum wallet or you are still unsure if you have full access in it would be better if you just create a new Electrum wallet just to be safe.

If you want to be able to "prove" that you are still the same owner of this BitcoinTalk account... you should restore your Electrum wallet (either by using your 12 word backup seed mnemonic or by finding the old wallet file if it is still available) and then sign a message from that same bc1qc3h9w6qa3q4pru7umv0m4kz4297ecuakfrlzvq address to be able to prove that you still control it.

Just changing the address in your BitcoinTalk profile means absolutely nothing.

In fact, now it does look like the account has been sold/traded, as the address has changed and you can't sign from the bc1qc3h9w6qa3q4pru7umv0m4kz4297ecuakfrlzvq address to prove otherwise!! Shocked Shocked
