The last halving took place in 2016 and price start surging in 2017 not in 2016, it's same thing with past years, I don't see how this year will be different here, don't expect price to start surging, I dont, not until 2021

I don't expect a big increase soon but it will happen couple of months after the halving. Just my 2 cents.

Everyone has different expectations in terms of price increases after halving this bitcoin, because for those who have a lot of assets both in altcoin and bitcoin, will definitely expect an increase as soon as possible.

Yes, if we look at the history of halving, it is true that a year after halving there was a surge in prices in the market, but different things could have happened for this year, although it is likely to happen the same as in previous years.

I don't see bitcoin over $12000 ever again honestly.
For me it looks like btc is getting into slow pace stage when its fluctuations won't be as big as they were.
Now when pandemic situation is going on - I believe it will slow down btc even more, so halving won't change much

Halving might affect the price of bitcoin like before but I think we should not expect too much for the price to surge this year due to the virus that happened. Instead of looking forward on the coming halving some of us are focus on the current situation on when will the virus going to vanish so we can return back to our normal lives.

I dont have any expectation on halving but it would be good to see if the the market turns bullish.

I feel that crypto market is in comfort zone right now if we have a look on the past week there is a descent pump in BTC, also the past halvings didn't disappointed us similarly the result would be a positive one this time too.

I understand that COVID-19 is a serious threat to everyone but I believe this will not affect the crypto market and we are experiencing this as well, still guys don't expect too much pump and dump your coins because everything is unpredictable in crypto be cautious.

To be honest, at first I do not have high hopes in halving and this situation made my expectations smaller. I do not expect that much because I am morr anticipating the inconsistencies regarding events in this market. Not because the market value before of cryptos increased, referring to the previous halving, same thing would automatically happen for the upcoming one. Every year, different factors could affect the market behavior and that is enough in my opinion to not hope that much. I do think that a single event won't lift the market prices alone. I am expecting for an uprise someday but i am more expecting that it won't happen soon, making me hold-still to my investments.

I do still see bitcoin breaking that barrier someday but that would only be possible if there will be mass adaptation of bitcoin which I think is hard to visualize at this point wherein countries are minding  'more' important aspects of the economy which is valid. Patience is the thing that we should have right now and avoid fantasizing. Expectations could hurt anyone.

There have been many witnesses about this in the past, and if you like halving this year, then you will be the next witness after halving in 2016, this is obviously very interesting to wait, especially if someone has a bitcoin and altcoin asset very nice.

Expectation of getting a good price yes but I am not thinking about it anymore considering that the whole world are under a strict locked down. Maybe there is a chance that the expected bull run or any huge increase in price of market wouldnt happen. Economy has in the verge of going down, and some already down a lot. This is no different on cryptocurrency market. Investors on stock and cryptocurrecy will experience a slow and volatile feeling here.

If your long enough on cryptomarket you can say that everything can flip from up to down and vice versa. Well suprise is not a new thing here but be ready when it comes and accept it whether its green or red color.

I do agree, many people were expecting too much on the upcoming halving before everything that's happening right now happened. Many many investors came to the market before because they expect good ROI during the halving season, but with everything that's happening caused by this pandemic, I can say that it won't be the same like the past years of halving season. Many people are on the brink of deaths, many are starving, many lost their jobs and some are already using up their savings just to buy foods and necessities for everyday use. Investing in the market will be a lot harder than the normal days back then. But still, there's so many things that may happen before the halving happens. Let's just pray and hope that everything will fall back to place the way it is before. Hope this pandemic stops so we can all enjoy the halving season.

well based on my experience last halving, it made btc price skyrocket and after that is a massive dump coming but i think the tide is reversed this time because of the current pandemic happening. though i am looking btc longterm i think that is better

Nope, covid-19 pandemic force me to realize that bitcoin bull maybe cannot arrive at this halving, and bitcoin boom like 2017 maybe not coming too, i just hope bitcoin will sideway because in this situation, bear will coming easily

Since the cryptocurrency market is so unpredictable, I can't really count on the halving period. I know that some of us are excited about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to pump.

My expectation of the Bitcoin halving would be none to very low. In my own opinion, I would say that it might dump a bit for few to several days or weeks before we can see it pumping a bit.

Despite that the risk of cryptocurrency investments are high, I am still bullish in Bitcoin and a few cryptocurrencies like ETH, XLM, TRX, STEEM, etc., on a long-term basis. But for day traders, their emotions are seem to be ready in case they "expect the unexpected".

It is weird to celebrate it with all that is going on in the world.

I don't say it is a celebration like a party but you could see a lot of hype when the halving is near but now it is different.
We don't see much speculations or prediction about it much in social media unlike before.
Health is more important and I guess people are focused on that which is good.

To be honest, I don't have any expectation and not have excitement! I am more worry about the pandemic and when this will end! Almost 160k people died and no vaccine yet! Therefore halving doesn't impact immediately, you need to wait for months to see the impact. Now the situation is changed, I think Bitcoin price will have bull run, but may not like before! People will sell more, the longest bear market was the first reason and now the COVID-19 pandemic will be the main reason for sell bitcoin more than buying!

I am not having high expectations as regards the halving, and to be honest my minds and emotions are tied to the events that will happen before the halving.
I am optimistic and very much ready to take advantage of the lower spike coming soon.

As for me, I am just watching from behind to see what will become of the market in few months time because the present state of the market is not encouraging at all despite getting closer to the halving.
