Imagine we could have some kind of gaming platform that mirrors the entire crypto space where all manner of gamers can visit to look for vulnerabilities, "exploit" them and get rewarded. The gamers are more like bug bounty hunters.

The platform could have a whole copy of an entire cryptocurrency ecosystem/network, like Bitcoin or ethereum, but in fancy form to make the game fun. Gamers will search for vulnerabilities in the whole simulated cryptocurrency space and exploit them to show how vulnerable, decentralized, safe or antifragile the space or a cryptocurrency is.

I think this will help developers in the real cryptocurrency space to see and understand how vulnerable or strong their cryptocurrency projects are. And hopefully, they act accordingly by fixing the identitied problems.

Gaming platform? How is it possible for a gamer to exploit the bugs of a crypto currency?

If someone wants to exploit the bugs then they can do it on their own by from their home and only who have enough technical knowledge can do it.

Not just the bug aspect... Things like these will be taken into account: exploiting a cryptocurrency PoW/PoS system, tracing developers homes, shutting down the internet, wealthy investors threatening to defund a project, severe censorship, pressure from the authorities (and how to respond to such pressures), tracing all cryptocurrency users to harm them,  attacking via centralized exchanges, exploiting the consensus mechanisms, etc

It should be possible to build successful defenses against such attacks(and to counter attack) with proper decentralization and solid security in the stimulated game and get rewarded

Good Idea, but gamers can only find bugs through playing the game,
Exploiters are done by cheaters to gain profit only - Hungry/Greedy bad guys
If they reported it their profit is cut and gain a little - The mind of a greedy criminal
Pure gamers just want fun and away from boredom - Neutral
Yes, I think it is applicable for technical gamers who is a coder too - Technical good guy
