In UK the government approved "Investigatory Powers Act" which gives them
power of mass surveillance of citizens. Since 2016 ISPs must now hold your data for a long
time and GDPR rules ("pls delete my data", "can I see what data you hold about me?") do not apply  Grin

In case you use a VPN and the ISP doesn't know what you searched on the internet,
they will ask you to decrypt your data. If you can't, you face up to few years in jail
or a heavy fine (unlimited fine so it can go in millions if you're a suspect drug dealer, etc).

THE BEST PART? Politicians exempt themselves from this law (Is this country really a democracy? This was not voted by the people lol)

Nor was a 10 year salary increase from £66k to £82k while nurses face moving from £21k to £21k Grin (or something like that). Oh and politicians can claim expenses on top of that for travelling and such...

I doubt their history isn't being tracked anyway with everyone else's and I'm not sure why that ammendment was even passed (I think the lords actually suggested it).

Democracy was always and is always shit, no one has any good system...

Think about the average person, half of everyone will be less intelligent than them... And they're all the ones deciding who runs the system.

I mean we've had a governemnt that have literally done nothing for the pass 10 years but convince people they're a good option, postpone debates, leaving the EU and clapping at workers rahter than giving them a salary they actually need...

I can bet that this thing is happening in other countries but people don't know about because it's not as public information.

What you said about salaries however I don't agree. Nurses are paid better in UK (about £30k depending on the location they live in, etc)
Remember there are 30,000 politicians in UK and 300,000 nurses so there is obviously less budget for that. If you take all politicians'
salaries you won't be able to add even £10-£15k to each nurse's salary.

That's because politicians and government agencies don't work for you. They work for the people your country owes money to.It's in the interest of your owners to have a profitable economy that functions in line only with their combined interests and not yours   Smiley

Isn't the politicians a citizen of that country too, also what is the meaning of no one is above the law, these surveillance is just a subtle way of controlling the masses, in the case of this one though, it is not entirely subtle, remember the time when politician throw mud at each other exposing their not so good dealings. You also said that they are working for the people then the people have a right to see what these politicians are doing.

Yeah I thought the debt western countries owe is normally due to private investors (potentially in the same country).

Nope...I said politicians work for the people your country owes money to.The role of the politican who is allowed to last long in charge is to saddle your citizens with debt so the people your country owes money to takes ownership of key resources which ensures perpetual commercial consumption and return on investment supported by subsidies if profits fall while debts underwritten by taxpayers at all times. The key resources which were provided at zero to low cost as utilities are then removed from state ownership and sold privately to companies owned or directed by these same people heavily discounted in most cases.

I never said that they were not spied upon. When useful idiots are no longer useful the dossier created is used against them.Depends on how juicy the dossier is.Very little to use these days as whips and and high heels are no longer any use now that deviant behavior is the new normal. Grin

Not all politician all over the world are exempted from being spied on. In some countries most especially African counties, politician are being spied on there and not exemption in any way.

THE BEST PART? Politicians exempt themselves from this law (Is this country really a democracy? This was not voted by the people lol)

Don't worry, no matter how many exemptions these politicians are voting for themselves for, they will be spied on anyway, or who do they think they are kidding.

Yeah I was just thinking this. They spotted Dominic Cummings' 240 mile round trip, I imagine the press already have an involvement in telecommunications logging - like the phone hacking that takes place also.

This is only to say, human right can be violated if the course seems right to the government. How can some one live without their privacy! I hope the enacted investigatory act which gives investigators all these rights to access these private data also have a way of punishing officers when these data is been misused or sold out to bandits.
It's really a tight spot. A while ago, I just read an article on this board on what if it were possible for you to live without Google due to the loopholes accessed and used in spying on individuals but then, here is one spy activity backed by law. I believe as much as politicians have this privilege to be above this law, it's just another way, some other important personalities are also going to be left out off the records which shows to what extent the law has been oppressed and the injustice done against the common man. So unfair.
