Author Topic: Bither for iOS(1.9.1): unable switch to cold wallet  (Read 152 times)

Hi all,

I recently installed Bither from iOS App Store. And then switch-off WiFi/BT/cellular network(aka offline), and opened Bither.

But Bither didn't prompt for "Switching to cold wallet".

I've tried some combinations, e.g.
1. Offline: create HD account
2. Offline: create HD account and add a private key.
3. Online: create HD account, and restart the App offline
4. Online: create HD account and add a private key, and restart the App offline

-- neither of them works.

Any idea?

Did you check the settings and see if there's an option there?

Check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5149848.0, looks like it might be similar to your issue. But there might be differences in version though.

But Bither didn't prompt for "Switching to cold wallet".
check your wallet seed for your old wallet "hot wallet," make sure that you have saved it correctly (Keep it in pieces of paper or anywhere safe,) delete the wallet data (Settings -->  General ---> iPhone or iPad Storage ----> Delete App) switch-off (offline,) open Bither.
In short, the wallet needs to be empty or an address has not been created.

AFAIK, you can’t back to hot wallet mode.

Hi, thanks for the reply~

I tried
1. removed the Bither  (Settings -->  General ---> iPhone Storage ----> Delete App)
2. reinstall Bither
3. Switch off BT/WIFI/cellular, switch on "flying mode"
4. open Bither without creating HD account

NO COLD WALLET PROMPT
NO "SWITCH TO COLD WALLET MODE" in SETTINGS

It is strange, AFAIK, it should appear to you? What happens when clicking on Advanced options?

Please contact Bitpie Wallet.
They will be able to help you and this may be a wallet bug.
If they ask you for a private key or wallet seed, do not provide it to them. Do not trust, verify.
