So boxing promoters from Nicaragua still proceed with their boxing match despite the pandemic, they have taken all the precautions
Fighters are sprayed with disinfectant, ring girls don face masks and socially-distanced fans.

The promoters dismissed the coronavirus  and insist that boxers need to eat and feed his family

They have held this event because the number of infected is not very high in their country.

What do you think about this, do you think that some sporting events have a good chance of resuming?

How can they exactly prevent fans to follow social distancing when they will surely get contact with each others as finding their seats and going to comfort room at a time.

they are not really concern about the Boxers not to eat but they are concern about their profits ,and also those gamblers that need to sustain their lust in gambling.

i will be more comfortable if they will not allow live fans instead just in online and only the fighters, round girls, referee and the judges and staffs will only appear on each fight to really prevent the spread of virus.

I wish they just haven't allowed the fans to be at the venue of the game was broadcast locally. Few or many the risks is till there since some carriers can't be detected that easily; asymptomatic. Sports has high chance of resuming but it will be stricter as never before remember they are mostly being flocked by fans but hoping it wouldn't happen this event organizers shouldn't just be on profit they can make instead for the health of their athletes and fans.

Will they be able to feed them if there life will be at risks because of the ongoing crisis? I think not.

This will be a problem if the audience will not observe social distancing. Even though the number of coronavirus victim in their country they should not be too complacent. If they will proceed with the event they could just broadcast it live on tv. Take note that coronavirus is also air bourne and this could put thier boxers or staff at risk.

Should have postponed it in my opinion, it doesn't matter even their country has little amount of infected because if one carrier manage to get in and join the crowd in the fight they will all get the virus that could possibly mean death and could take thousands of lives, if the fight is taking place in a big venue.

Although there's a social distancing, there is still a risk of transmission because the number of cases will not define how safe a country is from the virus. Always remember that according to the professionals, the rate of transmission is 1:16 people, that's how fast the virus can spread from one person to another.

It can be passed by touching a certain surface by the infected person and infect that object and the other person also touches it. We don't really need to have a gathering right now, people should stay inside their home no matter what and just go outside if they need something to buy for their own survival.

This is really not the right time for making an event even if it is a source of money, the government should be responsible in supporting it citizen and giving them what they need to survive the quarantine. The health of the people is always important and should be prioritized before this boxing thing.

This will just give you the risk of getting the virus, although you don't have a huge amount of cases but the reality that there is someone infected in your country, it is still the same.

i just check the cases of covid on  that said country and find out that there were only    13 confirmed ,  7 recovered and  3 deaths  . this is not alarming at all so yes its not a big deal if they still continue thier boxing match and other gambling activies   . they can just safely quarantine those who are infected and people can still wear protective gears though for extra safety   . better safe than sorry thats what the saying said   . i forgot that governments here also allow some places to continue living normally as long as the cases are small  .

If they happen to have no contagion in the next few days, they may happen to do get on with more matches, which is very risky for their people. are the fights in the sportsbetting platform?

That's an impressive rate but that doesn't mean its safe. Until there will be zero and the vaccine is created for this virus, there will be no back to normal again for this situation.

Not every country have a severe cases on corona virus, some countries they were able to control the virus, so I guess if the government is not against the promotion, then they can proceed with proper caution, it's just rare at this time that this happens, but it happened so it's a good thing for the boxing fans.

When you say that they have a very low case of covid-19, I did a quick search and this is the information about their country.

Quote
Confirmed - 13
Deaths - 3
Recovered - 7
Source: google.com's covid-19 alert

They truly have a low case for the virus.

And look at what their leader did.

Well everything will always depend to their government or to the government where the boxing will take place because if the government is not against it then there is no problem with it as long as they can provide some precautions. But with regards to the situation, this virus is very dangerous so it will be best if they will just postpone this event and resume it once the vaccine will be develop in the future.

Though I cannot blame them if they are worried about the family of the boxers but they should think wider as they can compromise all if the event will cause the spread of the virus.

very low cases for corona virus in such country.

https://www.aa.com.tr/en/americas/nicaragua-has-unusually-low-number-of-covid-19-cases/1813537

What they are doing is good, they are promoting the business to be back as usual, the government supports it, so there's nothing to fear after all.
For poor countries, people can't afford to undergo a lock down for a very long period of time, business has to be lively again so money will be generated.

I wish they just haven't allowed the fans to be at the venue of the game was broadcast locally.

This is quite boring for both fighters to fight without any viewers, or even knowing that they have viewers but there's no cheers and shoutings to boost them up to fight. In addition, even if you add an awesome commentator to give excitement to the match, both players will not appreciate it. It might be better for them not to fight at all with this condition.

I see that the boxing match is taking place in a country with poor COVID cases or maybe they aren't implementing a quarantine. But if so, I totally hope they cancel the fight as it risks the lives of many people just by watching the match live.

Boxers are not the only one who are suffering from this pandemic but they never insist of going back to their designated work because they tend to understand the high risk of this coronavirus outbreak. It's not bad to follow government's advice, we are protecting ourselves from acquiring the virus. If their country does not have yet huge number of affected people, will they wait for it to increase?

I do hope, they reconsider the boxing acitivity to be postponed until this pandemic ends. Our purpose is to fight this corona to end and not to be the reason for the increase case of it.

P.S.
I remembered our country has that lowered case too, before the lockdown was announced. And now, it increased to more than 7k positive as of today.

There is still a chance of infection/contamination but as far as health protocols are concerned (from looking at the images in the article), I think they did well. As mentioned by others, there are only 13 cases so far. There is also no quarantine imposed by their national government and that safety measures were done like disinfectants, social distancing, and wearing of masks (including the audience) during the event.

Kids are there too. They really made this very pleasant for the public like its a tourism project.

Social distancing made them look more civilized than the crowd without covid. We could get used to this kind of picture and that no stampeded in a mass gathering.

13 cases so far it's very impressive, it could be the climate in the area that strand of covid is less damaging.  It's hot in there.

In Nicaragua, this event was held with maximum security measures. Because it is a country that does not have many confirmed cases of Covid19 because they were allowed to carry out the event.
Boxers allege that they cannot stay locked up at home because they need money to feed their families.
Hopefully, there will be no consequences in the coming days.

If you look on the pictures the audience do a social distancing and the staff do a precautionary measures to assure the audience safety but I think this is not enough since we cannot see the virus and those disinfecting on areas and on the fighters cannot assure if those really can kill the virus, they are risking their lives their maybe they should think about safety since if there's one infected break out for sure its a big disaster for people who watch the fight and contract tracing is a big work for government.

The promoter is selfish they are want to earn and doesn't think about the consequences of the action they do, they didn't think about health since  it's more important than money.

I think the only reason they allowed such event is because of the really low amount of infected people and amid them very few deaths and good recovery number. They also took the quite some strict measures from what I am seeing from the photos so why not held a sporting event in which everyone will be happy and the risk will be almost 0 to generate newer infections.

I guess Nicaragua is one crazy boxing nation, Lol. I do hope that they make the right decision as the world is really suffering from the covid-19 pandemic. But still, there are risk involved here, they may have the lowest cases, but it doesn't mean that they are going to be immune with the virus. Personally, I love the sports, but let's not wait till the virus gets into their country, they should take care and health comes first.
