Introducing The Halving Game, a fun platform about anticipating the Bitcoin price.

Can you predict the BTC/USDT price on Binance at the time of halving on May 12?
Then make your bet and win your share of the pot! It’s 100% anonymous, no email address required.

How does it work?

Everyone makes one or more bets with their own price prediction. At the time of halving (when block 630,000 hits), those bets within a +/- 2.5% range (target zone) around the Binance price will be paid out their share of the pot. For example, if the price at the time of the halving is 10,000 USDT, you would have your bet(s) placed between 9,750 USDT and 10,250 USDT (-2.5% to +2.5%). The minimum bet size is 1 bit, or 100 satoshi.

Weight factor

The weight factor spices things up even more and rewards older bets over younger ones, i.e the earlier you bet the greater your weight factor will be. For example, if you bet 14 days before the halving, the weight factor of your bet is 14.0. If you’re in the target zone, your share of the pot will be your bet multiplied by 14, so be quick because a bet only 7 days before the halving will have a weight factor of just 7.0. On the last day of the game, each bet only counts 1x.

TL;DR: Bet as early as possible to get the maximum output.

Payout calculation

After the halving, the pot is distributed to those players whose bets are within the price range. The formula for the payout is:
sum of my weighted bets in target zone / sum of all weighted bets in target zone

Service fee

We’re charging a modest fee of 2% to operate the service and provide support. The service fee is deducted at the time of payout.

Personally, I am interested in this game, but your site contained no proper explanation as to how the game works making it really confusing for newbie gamblers. A FAQ section should be added.

I didn't think about the smart contract aspect. It would have been better that way indeed, but I wouldn't dismiss the site so early. Op seems to be responding to queries in this thread responsibly and the site itself looks decent.

Signed message with a decent amount of btc in it would possibly help the OP or escrow a decent amount of btc.

Very well said. As of the moment, the total amount (of prizes to be shared with by the winner/s?) stated in the website is 0.0232263 BTC. We wouldn't want to add anymore satoshis there (any amount, not even 100 sats) as it would promote more for other players to join. What we need right now is some assurance that they'll pay up to the winners once it's all over.

I'd recommend to stay away from them until they provide verifiable proofs for this contest.

If you have just read up yahoo's view or sentiment above then we do have the same insight towards those newbie accounts commenting above

Yes, this reminds me exactly of all those games that were so popular. I even almost played some of the games and thank god I did not, especially the ones that tell you about dividends. I actually thought I could earn from dividends I knew the whales would win the jackpot but those who played it turns out did not earn anything at all. Interesting, I visited the website to check it and I notice that there is no maximum limit for your bet meaning you are free to bet even if you will be putting only a minimum bet. And for the Weight factor, will the amount of bet will be considered also aside from what you have mentioned to it.

Because I notice in the betting list that there are different amounts that were being wagered and maybe if I can get a clarification to it, I will be glad to participate to it. I am a little bit puzzled with the FAQ's, I am hope you can answer my little clarification here.

Happy to answer your questions. There is no maximum bet limit, but I would suggest to make many tiny bets instead of one big bet. You never know where the bitcoin price will be at halving.

The weight factor is pretty difficult to grasp at first. For example, the weight factor is 11.84409747 right now. That means if I bet 1 bit (=100 satoshi) my weighted bet is 1184 satoshi. After the round completes (halving) the payout formula is:

profit = (sum of my weighted bets in target zone/ sum of all weighted bets in target zone)

Basically that means you're getting an edge to all players that place a bet later than you. This doesn't mean that more money is added to the pot from us, it's just a calculation factor to favor older bets over newer bets.

A player that bets on the last day will only have a weight of 1, meaning he gets no additional advantage.

Since the website is new and you don't have any reputation on this forum yet, I am sure you understand it raises trust issues. Why should people trust the website and deposit their money if there's no guarantee it won't just be stolen? Betting on the price at the time of halving is a potentially interesting event, but it should be organized properly to attract attention. People have been mentioning Ethereum games, but the thing with Ethereum is that it allows a smart contract to perform the payouts which means there's no need to trust it. In your case, it's probably a good thing to come up with a way of proving you're not going to scam people.
