I've been lurking for a while, but finally felt compelled to make a post for something that really impressed me; and that's the Pheeva hotwallet I first heard about it on Let's Talk Bitcoin! But it finally clicked with me on how it works when I listened to the latest Sovryntech podcast (Texas bitcoin conference wrap up). Simply put, the devs of the Pheeva wallet have figured out a way to 'hack' the iOS ecosystem. They created a co-op in order to push enterprise apps through web browsers (vs. downloading through the app store). Here's a link for their trial membership: http://pheeva.com/comm/IF YOU HAVE AN IPHONE:1. Sign up for their co-op here: http://cogcoop.com/2. Verify your email / password 3. Open the link in your e-mail from your phone 4. Download the app (just click on the link and it will start downloading on your phone) 5. Set up your Coin!D & create a password 6. Set a PIN to initiate a session and voil?, you're up and running. Super simple interface. I don't have anything to do with the company, again - I was super impressed of the out-of-the-box thinking of these guys to make this wallet work so smoothly on an iPhone; it truly is easier than using blockchain.info in a browser. If this works well for you, feel free to buy me a drink - my Coin!D is: Brian Falther (& I'll be sure to pay it forward.)

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Very phishy. Perhaps "register" or "sign up" would be a better way to describe it..? In any case, I'm still super impressed how clever their approach is to getting around Apple's bitcoin restrictions. Hats off to the developers.

Enterprise apps are nothing special, anyone can get a certificate to make those. The downsides are the binaries you can sign with them are only valid for a year (after a year it'll stop working and you'll need to download one they've rebuilt more recently) and if they were doing it by the book, they're only supposed to distribute apps within their own organisation with it. Maybe that's what all the co-op nonsense is about. At the end of the day you're still running an untrusted closed source binary which could be doing anything with any coins you trust to it. The only way I'd trust anything like this is if I could build it myself.

Trust no one.
Agreed, however this was covered as a legitimate project on the Let's Talk Bitcoin podcast - http://letstalkbitcoin.com/tag/pheeva-hot-wallet/The LTB crowd normally do their homework on anything they cover so in my view this does warrant a closer look.

newbie "G1ng3rBr34dM4n" says download this and enter all your passwords - OKAY! Alright, alright - I understand where you're coming from :-P I get the "newbie" status - if its any consolation for credibility, I spend most of my time over at the BitShares forums, same username. I also wouldn't have posted my real name if I didn't believe in the product, you can find me on twitter too - I've been tweeting about Pheeva for a few days. Trust no one.

This. It's better to wait some time to see some feedback from more trustfully people than risk. Reg.

Put the App on the store, see if it even gets approved.
But, why would someone use that app though? Since most use blockchain, and its not hard to just make a open tab on the phone, then login to the online wallet website.
I rather be safe then sorry and something thats already proven.

newbie "G1ng3rBr34dM4n" says download this and enter all your passwords - OKAY! Alright, alright - I understand where you're coming from :-P Part of the problem for me is that it was not clear what usernames/passwords you are supposed to "verify". If I call my bank, they ask me to "verify" personal, non-secret information. However, they don't actually read it out to me. They expect me to know it for some reason. Not sure what happens if that information changes and I say something they don't expect

These guys are indeed legit and as mentioned presented at the Texas Bitcoin conference, see here: http://www.coindesk.com/coc-ios-bitcoin-wallet-apple/In addition to making an IOS wallet they also have a free Chrome wallet (available in the Chrome app store IIRC). They two cannot sync (as of yet) but I believe that is something they may consider. I met these guys at TBC and talked to them quite a bit-- they are sincere guys who outside of this do a lot of good in their community as well (educating local KY government, schools, etc).
