most prizes and ICOs are just scams, so how do you choose the prizes you will participate in?
Did you join the gift because it was handled by a famous gift manager,
Or just because it has a high level in several ICO rankings,
Or do you really read their white paper and spend time looking for a good project.
Hopefully you can help other hunters by sharing how to choose a good project not only for prizes but also for investment.

This has been discussed several times in the forum and as a newbie don't you think you were supposed to take a stroll around the forum.

The basic principles to choose a good project and avoid fraud projects is just one; which is do your own research.

Before you do your own research, there are questions that you need to answer which will guide your knowledge about crypto currency.

1. What is your example of a good project?
2. What do you expect from a project before you term it as a good project ?
3. What features do you search in a project when doing your research?
4. Do you need the team details before project validation ?
5. Why are you investing ?
6. What is a fraud project?
7. What features do you expect in a fraudulent project?

Answer the above questions honestly, do your own research and you will get it right.

1. Check their partners and investors. If they have big investors it means project is liable.
2. Check little about project through website and whitepaper. If you don't have technical knowledge then check reviews on Icobench or Icodrops.
3. Check their team members
4. Check if they already have MVP ready. Good projects usually have MVP ready before ICO.
5. Make sure, before you invest, you can manage your financial management correctly and lastly, I hope you don't go crazy just because of crypto.

I know it is very difficult to know when an ICO is a scam or not, but I tell you that there is always a way to find out. First of all,  if the team behind the project don't have anything to hide, then they should do weekly Webinar with their investors telling them about how the project works and also answering questions that would be passed on to them, but many ICO in existence this days don't do this because they don't have good intentions in mind and will never want to release their identity for everyone to see.

for the most important ico is a team, do not ever trust the ranks because all of that can be manipulated and for scam projects usually they always fake some of their teams with fictitious people who get from identity thieves on the internet at low prices / they look for their own data on some social media like facebook / twitter / vk / instagram and make fake resumes using their data, and the rest are whitepapers because here also plays the most role because scam projects always plagiarize other whitepaper projects.

Hello first of all what you mean by prizes? Im assuming what you really meant is bounty campaign right?

The question and context of your post bit odd. But Im gonna tell you some guide.

First of all, I like to not recommend you participating on some ICOs, why? The era of good fund raising through ICOs are long gone. Even the IEO projects are not that good if your after the tech or platform itself. Investment on such projects would be more risky, why you keep looking for new projects if the old ones are better?

I assume that what you are really after are the campaigns that give reward right? Dont focus your attention on campaign. With your current rank you can only do nothing goos but become a hunter and worse a spammer. Focus on learning first, before joining any campaign. They are just there waiting when you are knowledgable enough.

BIG WINNER!

Similar topic and discussion might help: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5244550.0

We currently don't have a generally accepted good standards for ranking cryptocurrency projects. So, the different ranking will hardly agree...Every ranking site ranks as it wishes. You could be lucky though with some of the rankings. We just need consistency with the different rankings.

i believe we can never stop sharing our ideas on how to invest in new projects here because there are people yet to understand how the cryptocurrency platform works and may fail prey for scammers whenever they want to invest. it is highly recommended before investing here to make a research about projects. you need to ask questions in the social group accounts of these projects. make sure that the community is active with activites and updates been carried out by the developers. \

least of all, we are short of long term projects in cryptocurrency these days. most projects are short term. Finally, invest what you can afford to loose because it is not guaranteed.

What do you mean by prize? That's bad english mate, I bet you are talking about bounties, bounties aren't for free, they require your effort and time, to choose the good projects you need to do research on the projects first because many scam projects are available today, just make sure the projects are real and the use case are good enough

Those are called the bounties and airdrops. They are not actually gift that they're giving for free, there's a certain task that you must fulfill to become eligible with their tokens.

Did you join the gift because it was handled by a famous gift manager,
They are called bounty managers and that's one factor that many bounty hunters are taking into account.

most prizes and ICOs are just scams, so how do you choose the prizes you will participate in?
Or just because it has a high level in several ICO rankings,
Rankings these days can be paid and many are aware of it and don't take it anymore as a good factor to be concerned of.

There are so many scam projects are caught using fake whitepaper, or copy-paste whitepaper, the whitepaper is very important it has all details about the platform and the team composition sometimes included, but there are many factors like the team experience, and how they promote the project to investors is also important.

I know some well known scam project that the team was very active during ICO and even after they become successful. Bitconnect is a very good example for this one. If you follow that lending scam project. The CEO is very active on promotion and it seems legit at first since he do it personally without anything to hide except his intention to run away investors money.

The very cool way to determine the legitimacy of the project is to do background check on the team or if you don't have that skills then make a thread here and drop the project that you want to legit check. There are a lot of clever people here that has a lot of time to deal with that job.

Whether you’re an investor or a bounty hunter it will be difficult to know if the project is real or not. But the most basic thing to do before you invest time or money in certain project is to do a research first. Some instances even if the project is legit you can’t assure that they will succeed, so there’s really no assurance here were all gamblers in the space.

It's really hard to find a good project at the moment and not every good project are necessarily profitable while some lightly executed project are able to bring profit to it's investors. Good whitepaper means a good idea but immediate success depends largely on execution. Going after hype projects generally won't disappoint you as many people would be following it closely.

To choose good bounty projects

1. Check if the project is listed and trading with good volume on exchanges

2. Make sure the bounty manager is a good one with good reputation so that you will get paid

3. If the bounty project is not listed on exchange you will need to do more research, make sure the team are real and the project has a very good use case because too many scam projects are showing up in crypto world today

With regards to item 1, do your investigation if the listed partners or investors are legit. If there are linkedin profiles attached to it, try contacting at least one of them, and ask about the true connection to the project. Sometimes they will just post those logos or names without the knowledge of that company or person. Because very few will verify their partnerships, the project usually do such publishing their names or logos just to entire potential investors.

There are 1000s of aspects you must need to consider if you escape from fraudulent projects by keep investing into ICOs and new coins/tokens. The better option I do follow is simply avoiding them. Yes, I do not have time to go for my own due diligence and also I am not ready to believe in others recommendations. At the same time, I am a continuous crypto investor.

No wonders, I just invest only with bitcoins and few other highly established altcoins. This way I am eliminating all the risks of crypto investments. Even if you take all your time to find a good project, there will be no guarantee that good project will keep their promises always. Please remember the well-planned scams are around in more numbers nowadays. So, it would be much better just sticking with bitcoin investments.

Please consider the reputation of the project as your first guidance to determine how good the project is. The manager doesn't matter a lot because there was a lot of trusted managers were also being scammed by the scam project that didn't pay them all. Just put the reputation of project above of everything.

The first dont forget to check their team legitimately, they should not hiding with someone else because once they use fake team it means they are untrustworthy at all. Second is, check all documents they had, the roadmap and the whitepaper should have clarification of their motive and then the partnership they had. Much better also if you are participating in their community group so that you will know every update or how active they are.

most prizes and ICOs are just scams, so how do you choose the prizes you will participate in?
Did you join the gift because it was handled by a famous gift manager,
Or just because it has a high level in several ICO rankings,
Or do you really read their white paper and spend time looking for a good project.
Hopefully you can help other hunters by sharing how to choose a good project not only for prizes but also for investment.

None of the listed above is my preference when it comes to selecting the project to participate in. Although they might serve as points of attraction, they are not enough to make a conclusion
Reading whitepapers is very good. In fact, it gives you insight into the project and makes you be aware of some things that might need more clarity.

Yes, I mentioned the word clarity.
After reading all that is needed to be read, the next thing to do is to go to the project owners and ask them questions. If they are able to provide answers to my questions and the questions asked by others satisfactorily, even though they call their project scam, then I might be satisfied.

A lot of project owners sometimes try to dodge some technical questions, which in my opinion is very important.
