I was trying out a new KangaGSDPQuadro...Kangaroo that mimics baby steps, then running giant steps through those while setting a DP...but I do not think it works as designed. Long discussion, especially concerning BSGS.

Jean Luc's version, if this program counts like the other BSGS program did, would be considered to get 14.6 PKey/s...that is 14,600 TKey/s. People get caught up with dazzling numbers without running the same exact tests to compare such claims, or speeds of programs. I don't know about this program as I have not used it but again, a similiar discussion already exists and at the end of the day, JLPs version was faster and when comparing times and speeds of what was going on under the hood, if JLP wanted to, he could have changed the speed read out to 14.6 Petakeys/s.

As I wrote earlier, that method is useless, because it increases the range of the generated keys.

It only searches x bits per round. I mean it's python code with some back .dll code. Do a search in the 52 bit range, middle of the range, say pub key 02B2FE98A1DCF9906C103ADEABB4EFEE7DBD7B74BA985838B0F34041EF225C5C58

Now run the same test using Jean Luc's Kangaroo or BSGS with 4 CPU threads only; I guarantee you, JLPs Kangaroo version will be thousands of times faster even though the speed on the screen says it's slower. Again, it's all in what the coder deems as a hash, or checked key. But side by side comparison tests shows the true speed. People may feel that a program is faster because of what the program shows the speed is but facts do not care about feelings...

I agree completely. I have tested different versions as well. The kangaroo is much faster, no matter what the numbers show.
