I have started http://www.halobc.com in hopes of bringing some joy to the Bitcoin community.

Summary : In short you play against others in either Slayer or Team Slayer matches on Halo Custom Edition. I figured instead of gambling I can put my money to better use by hosting/funding a dedicated Halo CE server, Ventrilo server, and a server bank roll for the matches.

Because the server bankroll is funded out of pocket you don't need to spend any Bitcoin in order to compete.

Game Play : The Slayer match provides the opportunity for players to win 0.035 ฿ (Only one person can win the bankroll for this match).

The Team Slayer match allows the winning team to win 0.025 ฿ divided amongst themselves equally.

Hours of Operation : The server runs 24/7 however Bitcoin matches only take place currently on Saturdays.

The Saturday matches begin at 7pm eastern daylight time and ends around 8:45 - 9:00pm.

Payouts : After the match has ended payouts are sent.

Fairness : In order to prevent aim bots I have installed server addons to detect aim bots. I will also compete in every game to make sure no one is cheating. When I compete in Team Slayer and my team wins I will ask the losing teammates to choose a number from 1 - 10 and whoever answers correctly gets my cut that way I do not profit per game. If I happen to win a Slayer match then the winnings will be sent to everyone in the game (except for me).

Sever Specifications : All servers are ran on PCI express SSDs along with Intel quad core processors for an optimal gaming experience (hence the low ping values). The servers are also DDoS protected to provide 24/7 up time.

If you're paying out of pocket for the rewards, how do you make any money?  Paying out the rewards and the server costs without a fee is crazy!  unless you're a generous benefactor.  =D

This is an awesome idea! I don't understand how you can fund it though. You aren't giving away that much money, but it will add up over time. I came to this thread expecting it to work something like everyone buys into the game and winner takes all.

Would be nice if Blood Gulch and/or Snipers were added into the rotation in the future, and maybe a pistol start on Battle Creek instead of plasma pistols. Still, ran excellently for this being the first day of this being up.

Yes you need Halo CE. Any version of Halo CE should work on the server since I configured it to work with all clients (except the Demo trial).

If your username states "[Unconfirmed]" please reply to confirm that you will be attending tonight if your spot is unconfirmed 10 mins before 7:00 PM US Eastern Standard Time I will open the spot to allow other players a chance to play on a "First come first served basis".

If a match states "Open spot" in the list you can reply to this thread see "Open Spot Clause" for more information [Please reply with "Slayer" or "Team Slayer" that way I know which one to add you too].

Please use your same username in Bitcointalk for Halo CE and Ventrilo.

Open Spot Clause : If you're listed in Slayer you cannot secure a spot in Team Slayer and vice-versa. However If you're able to join due to a open spot (assuming no one confirms the spot 10 mins before game start) you're allowed entry.
