This is the first time I had my comments merged and have a moderator's note

Is this something new or mods do this for merged posts only?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.

I get this deleted message as well just earlier today from my post on Report plagiarism (copy/paste), reporting copy-paster users.

I guess this is new in regards of the request of some users here (like this one) when mods deleting a post to identify on what forum rule(s) has been violated, thanks to theymos  Cool.

I find your lack of faith in Bitcoin disturbing.

It's not new, it depends on the mod. I know that mprep adds a note to explain the merge of posts (we can't properly merge 2 posts/topics, that's why some mods edit the first post and delete the second one), I do that kind of thing too.
The best thing to do is to avoid double posts.

I see. Thanks for the clarifying and Yes, it was mprep.
IIRC, we were testing the telegram bot if he'll get two separate notifications for a post quote and a "@" mention that time.

So it's not just on merged posts. It was probably the same mod who checked our post  Grin
