So I had Bitme and VirWox accounts back in 2012 when I had to make some purchases using Bitcoins.

I believe I used Bitme for depositing funds from my bank account and buying bitcoins. And used VirWox for doing transactions online. Or at least this is what I think how it went. It's been such a long time and things were way more confusing back then.

Now, I see that those two don't operate anymore.
Any clues or recommendations as to how I can access my funds I had in these accounts?

Thank you all in advance.

What happen to you for the past 8-9 years that you have to come out now to ask for a clue on how to retrieve your coins, that's a long time ago and you can see those platform don't operate anymore, even if you have their mail and write to them I doubt you will get a response, I don't think you will get your coin back,
since you already forgotten them for such a long time, you should just forget the idea of getting them back.
Sorry to say but that thread above wont do much either, last post was in 2013.

I'm afraid I don't. I see transition IDs that's about it...

It seems that VirWox is closed and there's no plan to open again in the future(Or it might be temporary due to COVID).

Why not try to contact them if you still know your account credentials try to ask them if you can still able to access your account.

Use this email to contact them support@virwox.com

About BitMe I can't access their site it seems they stop operating last 2016 according to archive.org so I think there's no way to contact them and ask about your account.

How much money did you have in Virwox and Bitme? How come you didn't move your funds out of those accounts earlier?Did you forget about your funds or something?
The only way is contact the customer support of those services, but they are down,so the customer support won't be active.Try to find some information about the owners of Virwox and Bitme.Do some domain lookup and google search and find their social media accounts.I think that they have at least Linkedin accounts.

I doubt that you will be able to return your funds, I'm sorry
On the website of Virwox it says that they're still open in receiving inquiries so they're still active on the backend. I'm sure that this is one of their concerns whenever an old user just forgot to open his account for years. Just hope that they don't have a dormancy rule for accounts or else, that's no hope.
As tipped, contacting them is the first move.
