So between Covid and just general shipping times from the other side of the world my BITHD Watch 2 finally came in.

Lets take a look:

Box top:

Box Bottom:

Yes, it's a generic white box in shrink wrap with  BDHD Watch series 2 printed on front and a sticker on back and 2 tamper seals.

Peeling open the stickers reveals the standard VOID marks:

Looking inside:

2 bands and the watch.

Going deeper into the box:

The induction charger and some paperwork.

And a nice holder for your seed words:

Looking at the watch:

Front:

(yeah the buttons should be on the right but that picture was blurry)

Back:
The circle is where the watch sits on the wireless induction charger.

Charge it for a while and....it's alive:

I'll have the setup and use post done later.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Stay safe.

-Dave

Some thoughts:

Starting with, I paid for this out of my own pocket so I have *no* reason to pull any punches. Ask and I will answer.

1) The watch came to me stone cold dead. Don't know if they all ship with dead batteries, it sat on a shelf for a while and they died, or the 6+ weeks it took to get here drained a full battery.

2) The only charger that seems to work is the one it came with. The induction charger in my car did not work and the one I use for my Nexus did not work either. So that might be me or it might be the watch. Giving it a full charge now.

3) No other smartwatch features. Time / date, have a nice day that's all you get.

4) The "watch" part feels good, the buttons feel meh.

5) The instructions are lacking for a newbie, but someone who has been around for a bit would have no issues.

So the setup & use....
Hate to say it but you can look at the review that BitCryptex did here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5244661.0

Form what I can see it's the same "device" as the card just in watch form.

Bluetooth connection only to phones using the BitPie app. No PC support. Sad
Setup was not great, the verification of the seed took a while due the small display but I was not wearing my glasses so that could be me.

Connection to the phone aside from the small screen was good until.... the 2nd thing it wanted to do was update the device, it then complained that my phone did not have 50% or better charge. So that took a bit as my phone was under 25% at the time. Should probably put that earlier in the setup or let you know up font.

No other watch functions just date and time. No alarms etc.
The BitPie app is fine has a bunch of alts if you need them too.

Unit itself feels a bit heavier then my fitbit versa. It's a bit bigger to.

Not much else to say here. It works, it's a neat concept to have your hardware wallet in your watch, but that's about it. Cold hard feeling is that it's not worth the $149.99 price tag. You can get a basic cheap last gen leftover smart watch and a trezor one which this more or less is in terms of functionality for the same cost.

The fact that I could not get it to charge with any other wireless charger is also not great, but as I said before that could just be my chargers.

Going to play with it for a few days and then probably wind up selling it.

Any questions ask, I'll answer as best as I can.

Stay safe.

-Dave

Cool detailed unpacking and review.
It sure is interesting to have hardware wallet watch on your arm, but I would agree with you that $149.99 is a bit overpriced atm.
I was wondering how long battery last with one full charging?

I was wondering how long battery last with one full charging?
If it is equipped with the 200 mAh battery, the official website claims that the standby time is 5 weeks.
https://bithd.com/BITHD-watch-2.html
It would be interesting to know how it performs in real life, not in stand-by mode, but actually being used.

The design looks modern but I'm surprised by the limited features of this watch, can I ask these inquiries:

 - There are no features for those who want to trade, such as offering price charts, colors, or lighting when the price exceeds a certain range or when any breakdown occurs?
 - Are there any additional colors or possibility to connect them with other physical devices?
 - Is there a single charger? There is no other way to use any other charger? And how much time for charging and discharging?
 - Are there any analog displays of time and date or with the same stylization that appears on the site?

1) The watch came to me stone cold dead. Don't know if they all ship with dead batteries, it sat on a shelf for a while and they died, or the 6+ weeks it took to get here drained a full battery.
According to the site[1], the battery lasts for about 37 days, so that is probably the reason.

From a full charge, doing setup, playing with it, and wearing it from Sunday till now the battery still shows full on the display.

1) No trading features on the watch. It really is just a clone of the Trezor One firmware with a clock....
2) Bluetooth only to the bitpie phone app. Nothing else. Black watch, monochrome display.
3) It came with a single charger, no idea if they sell others. As I said neither of my other 2 chargers worked, but that does not mean much, others might. Not sure how long the initial charge took because I started and walked away. But less then 3 hours.
4) No options, it's a very small basic display. What you see in the picture I have above with the QR code and firmware info is the TOTAL SIZE of the display. The black above and below it is just that, black plastic above and below it.

Since both of you and @BitCryptex on his thread doesn't mention backup in detail, can you use seed from BitHD on another wallet (such as Electrum) ? Will it generate same address?

Yes, both devices are based on trezor-mcu which supports generating BIP39 compatible seeds. I have double-checked that and Electrum generates the same addresses as my BitHD Razor. By the way, you can't receive any coins unless you verify the seed. On the contrary, it is not mandatory on any Trezor device.

Sad to say, but this is a cool concept but still a 1st gen thing.
After 4 days of use, it's going back into it's box probably going to sell it.
It works, don't get me wrong but it's OK at best.
Same with the BitPie software, OK at best. And I can't connect it to (or figure out how to) connect it to my own servers.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5245507

Battery is still going strong. No reason I can see that it would not make it for another few weeks.

But it's in the end a Trezor one with a clock that you have on your wrist.

Thinking about it more what *might* be better is a smartwatch app that integrates with a mobile wallet. Still not going to be as secure as a true hardware wallet, but if you could push part of the signing key to the watch then require a pin on the watch to sign in addition to the pin / whatever security on the phone.

Stay safe.

Unless you regularly make transaction or check balance on your address.

I did the initial setup of it on this charge and I still check the time a few times a day.
So it's a tough thing to estimate.

Stay safe.

Selling the watch if anyone cares: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5249736
Not a bad device, just not something I am ever going to use on a regular basis.
If it had support for more wallets or a way to use it with something other then mobile I would keep it. Or, if was more of a watch I would probably wear it.

Stay safe.
