Hi guys, I'm still new to bitcoin and other cryptos and have received advice to start reading, and also investing with small amounts until I'm comfortable with everything. I was also recommended to read "Mastering Bitcoin: Unlocking Digital Cryptocurrencies", and was wondering if there are any other great books for someone that's just getting started. Thanks!

Hello!
You received great advices. If you like reading book will be great. I can recommend anything from Andreas Antonopolous.
He is the read deal, huge knowledge and talent in presenting it.
If you like bitcoin documentaries try to find free ones.

Thanks for recommending my thread! Cheesy

@bystandposter

If you want a step by step and a comprehensive guide without reading too much technicalities, I'd recommend you these resources of 2 notable person in bitcoin space.

[1] https://www.lopp.net/bitcoin-information.html
[2] https://aantonop.com/

If you are looking for something that is located here in bitcointalk, here is big list of comprehensive guide made by the members of this community.

[3] https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4928968.0

I personally recommend you to read the basic which can be found to the links above. Then go for Andreas Antonopolous books "Internet of Money" which presents the philosophical idea of bitcoin. Secondly, go for "Mastering bitcoin", because only the first 2 chapters of the book is intended for non programmers while the rest is for technical and advanced user that knows programming. However, you can still understand the concept if you are going to spend most of your time studying.

I've been taking textual tutorial from a good website, it has really helped me to understand the new space to a considerable extent. It has materials covering crypto fundamentals, mining, trading, exchange etc.

Here is the link;

You can look it up and also learn from the platform.

Depending on your proficiency in computer science and/or mathematics, you could glean some additional benefit from what I personally used to learn about bitcoin: the developer documentation and the developer reference which are available at bitcoin.org Smiley
And obviously if you haven't read the whitepaper yet (hopefully you have) then that is also definitely something to investigate.

Even for people who don't understand too much technical jargon should be able to handle the whitepaper and site guide, though. Only the references start getting very esoteric.

I preferred to learn from practice as it's much more exciting than reading a book in my opinion - I know, everyone has a different taste. I have lots of books at home I just never had patience to finish reading, although they're very interesting. Practice makes perfect, they say - that's what I'd rather go for. Smiley

Simply reading this forum often, trying out different crypto platforms, using Bitcoin with different wallets, trying out even other cryptocurrencies and answering all questions you may have is going to widen your knowledge spectrum before you even know it.

Mastering Bitcoin is a must-read, also Bitcoin Standard - these books might be a little intense tho but the best place to start

I'm missing something kinda basic and important on the reccomendations: The Bitcoin Whitepaper

Before doing anything with Bitcoin, you should know and understand what Bitcoin really is.
