The recent spike in price of bitcoin has been linked to Paul Tudor Jones, a long time hedge fund manager and investor as he opened up with CNBC that almost 2% of his over 5 billion asset is infact in bitcoins. He also stated that he would keep on buying bitcoin as he compared it to gold trade in 70s.

The good thing about billionaires :-

They can actually afford to invest money in volatile market and even if they loose a lot they are still going to be financially stable.

Therefore I do believe that all of the millionaires and the billionaires have invested some amount of the money in Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies and therefore it is Preety common.

What they choose to say in front of the society is different , they might now like admitting it but I do think these people who are always welcoming to new thoughts and new investments would already be investing in cryptocurrencies since years .

I think this is not a new thing but Preety common one .

You don't need to be a billionaire to invest 2% of your portfolio in cryptocurrency.
If you total portfolio is 1000 USD you can invest 20 USD in bitcoin and it will be 2%.

If bitcoin fails, you get 2% poorer. If not, well, you get 1000% richer

I believe everyone should invest at least 1% of your overall portfolio in bitcoin

That's not a bad number IMO, and rather a bold move considering that most institutional investors who made most of their fortune on trading stocks, gold and whatnot are still skeptical about the potential of bitcoin as a working and performing asset. With that amount in hand, I too would take the risk as long as I'm well-educated on how the market behaves and what other benefits bitcoin offers to those who wield it. The man has been a household name for hedge funds, and with him showing his support to a rather odd and other-worldly asset class that other investors of his caliber so despise, it's something worth talking about.

If you had a net worth of $100B and lost 2% of it ($2B), you'd still have $98B left which is a damn lot but you'd feel the change. Billionaires and other successful people usually don't tell the best part of their plans, which for many could actually be hodling a huge load of Bitcoin. I also think a pretty large part of them hodl BTC but hide it. It's just too profitable not to put at least $500k in it if you have $100M sitting around. Cheesy

Yeah, that's what the issue is: institutional investors are the mountain movers and we welcome them to join the race of Bitcoin. For him to boldly speak out with his involvement should be applaud, for those still hiding no course of alarm. Having the 2% wealth into the bitcoin technology is a welcome development and will definitely yield profits on a long-term practice. It will be pleasant if other billionaires and millionaires will move some of their wealth %s into bitcoin.
