Hey everyone, I have decided it would be cool to do "research" about Satoshi Nakamoto to find out a bit more about him and his disparition. We could unite our knowledge about him and maybe get to somewhere with that.

Any info would be appreciated, Thanks

https://youtu.be/XfcvX0P1b5g is a great video about the background of Satoshi Nakamoto and how it relates to Adam Back. Great starting off point for the general story behind the creation of bitcoin, Satoshi and Adam Back + the whole Blockstream controversy. Really compelling.

What's the end goal? I personally feel that it is unnecessary to dig more about Satoshi Nakamoto than what's already publicly available. The man or the group, whichever the case maybe, decided to remain anonymous and let the other devs take over the decision over Bitcoin developments. I think we should just leave it at that.

If you insist, maybe you can ask McAffee since he claims to know who Satoshi is.

Stalking Satoshi isn't "cool".  Satoshi created Bitcoin for the world and kept his privacy,  why do you want to spit on his wishes?  Satoshi has no control or influence over Bitcoin by Bitcoin's very design.  You're not entitled to know anything about him and I think you should mind your own business. Would you think it was "cool" if people on the internet started stalking you?

Speculating about Satoshi's identity just results in hurting people that have nothing to do with him. Among other reasons: as we've witnessed the world easily falls for extremely obvious frauds like wright, so obviously the world it just too stupid to handle knowing anything about Bitcoin's creator to begin with.

I am very admired to Satoshi Nakamoto who created the bitcoin because he made a very successful thing in this crypto world, without him the crypto world will not be good as what good it is now. There are many things bitcoin gave to me so I really want to thank Satoshi for creating this kind of cryptocurrency. If you want to know more things about him, have a look at this video I'm YouTube. https://youtu.be/XfcvX0P1b5g

I don't think so, there are many people here who want to know Satoshi because he is a very aspiring person because of what he distributed to the crypto world. I think he is a very skilled and smart person because of all the things I've heard about him.

This might help you with your research some important information about Satoshi. I posted this thread last to share with everyone that wanted to research or to know about Satoshi. this is a complete list of information about Satoshi and maybe some clue that might lead to him if you can decrypt some of his message and forum posts.

It is not cool anymore if you are doing what so many others in the past have done over and over again. And it is certainly not cool if what you will end up with is not really different from what the rest of similar researches found out in the past. Which is nothing near conclusive.

How would you feel if someone started creating forum threads about finding your real name, where you live, what were you doing years ago and how many Bitcoin do you hold? Would be creepy, right? So why it's okay to do so with Satoshi, he's a person just like any of us and he clearly wanted to keep thing as private as possible. And doxxing people just to satisfy your curiosity is against the spirit of Bitcoin, which was created to give freedom to people.

From until now, Satoshi is still is secret. Noone know who is satoshi. Some guy have realized that they are Satoshi, like Craig Steven Wright, Paul Le Roux , etc but they dont prove it.

So, we not sure Who is Satoshi Nakamoto although search on the internet. Satoshi can be one person but Satoshi can be a group of people, we dont know that.

Summary, only one thing is for sure: Satoshi Nakamoto is created of Bitcoin also who defined Blockchain

Research? More like stalking for me. The guy created a pseudoym to remain anonymous and what you want is to find out more information on him? It won't really be "cool" if you ask me if this stalking can turn into a manhunt for Satoshi, I mean look at the consequences first in tracking him down, you are basically trying to make his life in danger. If your research has really no purpose behind it or you have a hidden agenda I think you should back off now since you aren't respecting Satoshi's anonymity.

Agree, revealing who is real Satoshi, would not be good for Bitcoin.
Personally i think Satoshi is dead already and this was his crown achievement of a humble man.
Lets enjoy it and leave rest as gossips.

is there any solid clue on who is  Satoshi Nakamoto ? I mean not a guess, really solid information?
There is just one solid information: That he created bitcoin, every other information cannot be confirmed or said to be solid, such as his name, country of origin, physical appearance, gender etc, no recorded information(thats accurate)on all this or even on his life, wealth or death(if that has happened). And for OP,  there is no need to research on satoshi, research on areas of bitcoin network he created and gain knowledge from it.

I don't think we should be trying to find out. It's indeed a betrayal of the privacy concerns, and we cannot imagine what harm it can bring to a person/group of people that created a revolutionary product as well as this community. I stand with gmaxwell on this one. Why not accept that Satoshi doesn't want to become publicly known and move on?
Not to mention that many tried already, but no strong evidence was suggested to support a case that Satoshi is this or that specific person. And I am quite tired of people who, while admitting that the identity of Satoshi is completely unknown, assume automatically that it's a man.

Why not accept that Satoshi doesn't want to become publicly known and move on?
Most don't even take into account that Satoshi may be on the first few places of some governments' blacklist, so finding out who Satoshi is may make you feel like accomplishing something but may nail someone else's coffin. Literally.

When you create something giving people freedom and truth, you automatically become a target. WikiLeaks & Snowden are only 2 of the ones still surviving after giving out crucial information.

Asking yourself why top cryptocurrency devs and founders are still alive if Satoshi is wanted? Then ask yourself why Ross Ulbricht received a 2 life + 40yrs sentence while traders from The Silk Road with 100% evidence of their illicit activity received way lighter sentences. The problem is the main brain of the hierarchy.

No one knows who really is satoshi there are many people claiming they  are but as long as there is not enough proof we cannot know if that was true.

We can't even determine if satoshi  is just a single persons or a group  that hide with a nickname of satoshi.
