Trump took to Twitter to target Obama as he believes that Obama used his powers to target his incoming officials, and he also targeted Obama because Flynn has now been acquitted of all the charges. I don’t know about you'll but I was completely stunned when I read that Justice department was dropping the case, and do you’ll think that this move will have any impact on the upcoming US elections.

“The biggest political crime in American history, by far!” the president wrote in a tweet accompanying a conservative talk show host’s claim that Barack Obama “used his last weeks in office to target incoming officials and sabotage the new administration”.

Trump fired Flynn, a retired general, in early 2017, for lying to Vice-President Mike Pence about conversations with the Russian ambassador regarding sanctions levied by the Obama administration in retaliation for interference in the 2016 election.

Flynn sought to change his plea while awaiting sentencing and the president championed his case, floating a possible pardon. On Thursday, in an act that stunned the US media, attorney general William Barr said the justice department would drop the case entirely.

You are correct as to the timing of his comments about Obama. But as for why he "targeted Obama" it's not because of Flynn issues.

It's simply because evidence implicating Obama has arose.

Democrats now need to bring in an unknown person with no laundry list of skeletons in the closet. Then let Biden quietly disappear. Then they'll enter the election cycle with what they think is a Big Surprise, and two weeks before the final day come out with their usual Big Shocking Lie about Trump.

But for this Mystery Candidate to have a goat hair of a chance it's got to be mainstream Americana, none of this radical communist progressive nonsense like we saw with all the Democratic primary candidates. That's why Biden got in easily, right? I don't think the fat old men in the Den power structure back room are smart enough to pull this off, though.

Just a technical note on the Flynn thing, he hasn't been acquitted yet. The DOJ has moved to drop the case against Michael Flynn, it's been rumored that this was a direct order of William Barr (AG who was appointed by President Trump.) People are criticizing that this was done based on the fact that a political appointee, Bill Barr and the attorney who was appointed by him, instead of a career member of the DOJ.

But yes, Trump is going to continue to go after the past admin based partly on the things they did wrong and the other part based on the fact that his supporters love it. Unites the base.

Many have long understood that Trump needs to score points before the upcoming elections. That's why he's been making serious disclosures lately. It's a shame he hasn't shown Obama anything concrete yet.

Honestly I agree with this. They all put on a show and dance that they're trying to investigate one another -- saying that they rooting out the corruption and so on and so forth. But BAM -- there's some sort of roadblock, maybe an attorney drops the case (like your AG), or a judge dismisses the case, and so on and so forth.

Both parties have a vested interest in keeping eachother around, because both sides know that all they have to do to keep power is just to win some years and lose in the other years. Why would they arrest one another and ruin all the money and power that they've accumulated and will accumulate over the years? The only thing that the parties will agree with is that they're going to try to give more money to the rich, and that they're not going to let a third party grow in ANY way. Makes sense, eh?

In simple truth, politicians will always look for means to ensure that they continue to stay relevant by sowing seeds of discord in the mind of the populace while they meet in parleys to resolve all of their differences. Trump has had his own share of investigation and its only common sense to want to return the favor but I see nothing at all coming out of this. Its going to generate noises for an amount of time and then go into its own oblivion without while the country would await another round of scandal to talk about.
