I have 3 ETH now , do when ETH updated to 2.0 , i will lose my 3 ETH ?
The upgrade is on, but staking is not yet started. Many are anticipating the staking reward on eth, but I heardalways that 32 eth is required to become a validator and earned rewards. Im just curious if below 32 eth we can still gain some staking rewards. Also, what wallet should we used for this? Or there is a specific platform that ethereum coins should be staked?

Hopefully some can answer my inquiries. Still confuse how ethereum 2.0 will work when the time is out. Wanted to prepare for it.

I haven't research ETH 2.0 and its proof of stake but the 32 ETH minimum to become a validator sound just like the concept of other proof of stake coin with MN. If it's like that, I think you still can stake even if below 32 ETH but staking against network will be hard.

When the upgrade to the Ethereum 2.0 network is complete, you don't need to do anything. Your current balance will be updated automatically and you will not lose any money. Usually the investor does nothing in such updates or swap transactions, everything is completed automatically. For this reason, you can learn what to do by just following the developments. No need to stress in vain, everything will be completed without hassle.

No you won't lose your 3 eth, your quantity will remain the same, the eth 2.0 has nothing to do with ethereum max supply decreasing, just leave your coins in your wallet and wait till the upgrade is over

I haven't bought any so far.

But to give you an idea, Tezos looks ok for me. Neo is also a good one at least for me but I never had it.

I haven't invested in Tezos so I can't say anything about it. Meanwhile NEO had lots of airdrops back then and quite a few were of good returns (Ontology for instance).

Not sure if they're still doing them.

Why do you think you will lose all that money? If ETH were to be updated to ETH 2.0, your money would definitely be converted, and you would never lose it

You can't lose your eth, the upgrade won't decrease eth supply and there won't be any chain split or such, going from POW to POS has nothing to do might lowering quantities of max supply or switching to new blockchain

I understand what OP is thinking, that probably eth will choose another blockchain and reduce max supply, that's OP thought but it's never going to happen, Ethereum owns tokens kingdom and ERC20 smart contract is here to stay

Just put everything in your wallet, I believe everything will be fine. ETH 2.0 will be updated and your assets will always be safe, If there are any updates on the total supply, they will swap it in the way that best suits you

There’s a risk and we don’t know what will be the outcome of the update but If i do have that amount of ETH, i will not hesitate to hold and take the risk. ETH is a good altcoin, the update is coming and we have to expect something good from that, or the other way can happen. I’m looking for more funds to buy ETH, I hope I’m not late on this one.
Hope you buy sooner cause the price of eth is above 200$ already. We nevet know when the eth platfom 2.0.will activate and Im sure a lot of people will love the hype and many will fomo on this. Just hoping the staking can create a good price fo eth and if we are lucky we can see another ATH again for eth just like the last time. Only bitcoin and eth are my current holdings and I believe these two will have good price few months from now.

No one will swap or collect your ETH or take it for vanishing. Just an upgrade to improve the ecosystem. Ethereum network is becoming very expressive for transaction fee.

No you won't lose your ethereum. You also don't have to do anything. Ethereum is 2nd biggest coin in the market whatever they do whole market system like exchange wallet and others will support it.
And yes you are right after th changing we don't have the chance to mine with GPUs. It depends on staking. And the amount is big it's 30+ maybe.

and base on what he said you don't need to be afraid if you just stay your why in your wallet.

As I understand in upgrade ETH will move to pos which is you can earn ETH by staying it on your wallet.

How big it is depends on how many ETH you have.

actually the possibilities of Growth is there so if Lucky that the 2.0 version of Ethereum event will come together with Bitcoin halving(in which happening now) can make you gaining but of course the assurance cannot be there as volatility of market is always there.

Your money will be converted, lol. You have funny thoughts.
Maybe he is Curious since there will be changes .

The value of ETH is now not high so even if you lost it. It is worth waiting because ETH no longer has such power. Remember how 2 years ago looking exceeded $ 1,500. It was something. Currently, cean is less than $ 200

Why do you think that all your ETH will be valueless? As your theory all circulating Ethereum will be valueless. Although this is funny question. Of course there will swap option because Ethereum 2.0 will be on beacon chain. You will get better experience when you see some swap process of any project from ERC-20 tokens to own coin.

Unless it occurs by a hostile takeover fork, then it's unlikely that you'll lose your 3 ETH.

Most of the time the chain is forked up to a certain block, so as long as you don't accidentally send your funds to the wrong chain during the transition period, you'll be fine.

You can look at what happened when Bitcoin split into Bitcoin + Bitcoin Cash, BTC holders retained their funds and earned an equivalent amount of BCH.

A similar setup will occur when ETH moves to POS.

Yep. There is hope to those that have not that much ETH but want to stake.

I'm also waiting for that.

Do you have other POS tokens? NEO was nice with their GAS. Sadly I sold all of them.
I haven't bought any so far.

But to give you an idea, Tezos looks ok for me. Neo is also a good one at least for me but I never had it.

Yes, Tezos is still making headway and I feel the journey up has just started. It was quite surprising to see it at that position and it is never going to stop there. The door is still open for whoever wants to invest in both ETH and Tezos.
Although this is never a piece of advice, I am also fine with those two too.

You don't even need to bother about all these. Nothing will happen to your ETH and you don't have to do anything extra. Just keep your wallet details safe and personal.

Do not worry, the old chain will be hardforked and your coins will automatically appears on the new version of blockchain, where will be a lot of new features, for example staking.  Wink
