Title: Foundations of Bitcoin value
Speaker: Marco Cornolti
Quando: 25/03/2014 13:00 h
Dove: Sala seminari Ovest - Dipartimento di Informatica

Bitcoin is a P2P, distributed, cryptography-based currency that most people and media call 'virtual'. The purpose of this seminar is to explore the concept of value, and its application on Bitcoin, to come to the conclusion that its value is at least no more virtual than any other state-backed currency. The seminar will go through the ways Bitcoin implements a representative money out of nothing, guaranteeing all features of a normal currency plus a few more.

Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say.
