I actually bought a MT. Gox shirt off eBay almost a year or so back - so I can save it to remember the place that once bore 70% of all bitcoin transactions at it's height - their website was originally created for the Magic card game funny enough. I wonder if they ever found the approx 650k btc it never could locate back in 2014. Are they still involved in lawsuits even now? Now, I kinda wanna find the shirt - I never took it out of the packaging lol.

good luck with your searches - some of these things are getting harder to find.

this is just part of what was taken though right? i think the total loss was like 850k but then they found some and that it resulted in still around 650k as "unfound"

also that one address in your first link - it is still getting funds added ever few weeks - last time was on 5/4/2020
also noteworthy is how much BCH that same address has as well. it last received BCH on 03/16/2020

-- trace the funds back and it eventually leads to a binance address 1NDyJtNTjmwk5xPNhjgAMu4HDHigtobu1s after binance though it went thru like 10 other addresses all within the same day before landing on the mt gox stolen funds address.

edit: if it can be traced back thru multiple addresses to binance account - would binance not know who (because of KYC) they paid? it might not be the same person who did the theft but then to see those funds go thru 7 other transfers all within 2 hours makes me think they may all be connected. A good starting point would be to know who 1B18zGQM5ENJeQ9eqMYinuYxpXYhQACAZd is -- this is the account that binance paid 0.00224918 BTC at 1:09 pm on 5/4/2020 that, in less than 2 hours, eventually landed 0.00122426 BTC on the same address as the 80k btc stolen from mt. gox

I have not taken the time but i wonder if more of these random transactions can be traced back the same way.

I can easily do the same thing. So even if they knew who it was, it doesn't explicitly admit any guilt.

Binance did not require KYC until late last year. If your account was created before the KYC update and you are located in the USA, you are still allowed to trade and withdraw 2 BTC/24 hours without KYC Smiley although this can certainly be changed at any moment.

true but if it is constantly the same account doing this over several years - and what if it ends up being someone who worked at Mt. Gox? knowing where these trickling in payments are coming from could be nothing or could be something. None of us here will ever know though lol.

ahh these accounts were being used within the last 2 weeks - not sure when they were created. I only ran two of the payments coming in - both led back to binance though.

That topic has 2 pictures of a Casascius coin: https://web.archive.org/web/20160224001404/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=127686.0

Using the Wayback Machine works really well if pictures aren't loading anymore Smiley.

If I could afford one, I would still buy one just to add to the collection, not to use 99.9% of what I buy, I will never use.

Kro... I think it's time for You to buy Bitcoin House, put all your cards on the walls, and declare it a KROGOTHMANHATTAN BITCOIN MUSEUM!
But it seems to me that you will not buy it, but CREATE it! Pretty soon...
