The addicted ones will always deny they are not addicted but they will always find themselves going to casinos or online casinos.  Maybe someone, a few of them will voluntarily call but I doubt the 90% that still has the money to spend will call.  I think they are going to be trying to solve their issues on their own first before calling a friend until it gets worse and they will call a therapist.

I think this kind of method was still not a really good option, the best thing you can cure from our addicted you got some supported from our closest person maybe girlfriend, best friend, family or special person from our life. If the person only has some communication with the professional adviser and no one accompany the person who needs some support from the addicted. All the effort from the professional advice will be worthless.

Support from the people closest to us or our loved ones is a good approach to make gambling addicts stop. But most of them do not want to stop and efforts like this become futile. If a gambler is someone who has a religion, spiritual support will also help, but if they want.

The problems with this is, most gamblers don't want to be cured.

Absolutely, not everyone has the capacity to get treated in a professional approach and sometimes the only person who can naturally help these people to get out of misery are really their love ones.

I am really skeptic when it comes to professional help especially if it involves psychiatric approach.

They can give advise but the real deal comes on how the professional handles it. They had studied their field at a certain degree, after all. I ain't saying close friends or relatives know less it is just that professional maybe knew how to treat it better than saying "stop" or giving the person a scolding or something that they thought would prevent the ill from suffering addiction. Better be sure than a satisfied being.

Another problem here, is how to spot yourself if you were already addicted specially if you're all alone most of the time. Because majority tend to become indenial in cases like this... they don't wanna embarrass themselves.

As someone who knows a lot of chronic gambler and have referred them to similar services/help, at most, the addicted gambler would comply for the first few sessions but after a while they will just go back and return to their gambling havoc. I don't really disregard such help/aid for addicted gamblers but there's really no one in this world that would help a gambler but himself. Intervention only strengthens the will of the affected individual to continue on and pursue gambling tbh as it gives them a feeling of being singled out for their activity. It only enrages what's inside them, thus rendering them more susceptible to gambling for long hours compared to their status prior to the intervention.

It takes one hard beating to the head of a gambler before he/she realizes that he/she is indeed addicted, and no soft words nor intervention can do that, I'm afraid.

This would only good for 2nd option but before taking any step towards to this then it would be better if you do just help yourself first because
stopping doesnt necessarily would need help by any professional because you can quit on your own if you are that serious on quitting

For newbies this is just new to them since they started playing but the more you explore and play gambling the more you will know what are benefits and helpful guides awaits you when you are in trouble. I doubt people who have serious gambling addiction will read that's sites. Even his wife or close friends who always telling to stop gambling, he will keep gambling and ignoring them. He can't stop gambling until he realize if he was do bad (such as: gambling debt).

You are right, but I think not all cases are the same as you said. Anyhow, it must be a few gamblers, I think there are still gamblers who are aware that they are addicted and need helps. Not all addicted gamblers are at the same level, what you said above is a severe level of addicted gamblers. But for gamblers who have a mild addiction, there is still a chance that they realize and want to find out how to solve their addicted problem.

Yes, like what I've said, it's better to start from yourself than regret it when you already lost a lot of things especially your family. Take a look at those advice and experiences of the other people who already suffered from gambling addiction. Definitely, every risky decision that you're making, there's a huge consequence on that so better keep in mind that we should have a moderate gambling activity. For me, the family of gambling addicts is the one who can say if the person is addicted to gambling. And they should be the ones to help them. People will only realize when they are already suffering from addiction. The role of the family and friends are really needed for a gambling addict to conquer its addiction.

Mostly, the family members are not the one who will actually help to mitigate the problem but rather they just make the scenario even worse. Every gambler knows sites and places like this but the main problem of these addicted gamblers is that they don’t agree that they are addicted and don’t listen to persons telling them to stop.The ones who realize that they have become addicted they call the above services and go there to seek help without any additional advice.

not exactly, there are gamblers(I know someone personally) who know and admitted that they are addicted to gambling but chose not to take any help because the urge to gamble is too strong. these kind of people are almost impossible to help and the hardest to rehabilitate if they ever to choose to go to a rehabilitation center.
