Here are my answers to all your questions:

*Yes, bitcoin is still working.
*You can use bitcoin to purchase goods and services, money transfer, or use it for gambling
*Bitcoin are being mine, and it circulates in a peer-to-peer network.
*I personally use bitcoin for gambling and purchasing stuff online. Right now I have 17BTC.

I hope I have answered all your queries.

Hey. I just started BitCoin yesterday for fun and I have som questions:

*Does BitCoin still work?

*What can you actually do for the "BitCoins"?

*How exactly does BitCoin work? Where does the money come from? Etc.

*How much have you guys made out of BitCoin? Is it just a hobby?

Thank you!
* still work

* buy a good or services, otherwise i'll cash it to $

* newly generated coin, 25 BTC per block right now
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining

* hobby? it is investment for me Grin

No, I will not disclose my real name on the Internet. The very simple reason I’m anonymous is so that I can talk freely about a free web. One mistake people often make is having the faulty assumption that knowing my real name or my association with a respected person, group or organization might get them to trust me more. In fact, I have no authority here. Elastic Project is a loosely associated group of developers which constantly changes over time. If you prefer projects with a more centralized structure, then please move on. Specifically, I kindly ask you to refrain from any messages that try to convince me of the contrary. My time is too valuable to be wasted with the same discussion again and again.

I'm pretty sure the BitCoin died already, ask the CEO of China...

APRIL FOOL's!   Tongue

Bitcoin is alive and kicking strong.  It's only 5 years old, wait until he reaches middle school.   Cool

It may sound morbid, a disaster may really show the value of BTC. The transaction network is very open (no discrimination between recipient or sender, other than preventing double-spends and whatnot), and it's global and fast.

Not when the disaster leads to electricity or internet outage...
