Arguing/Insult Section in Offtopic

It is getting very boring and idiotic to read non stop arguing of members. Every day new shit topic.
Most of members have their signatures (and that is ok) but it is NOT ok be be paid for NON-STOP arguing!

All bitcointalk forum is polluted with this crap and all this should be reported to moderators and moved to Offtopic - Arguing section.
You can have 24/7 of mental arguing there.

Or an even better idea, shadow ban users like bonesjonesreturns. That’d be funny to see him arguing with himself in Meta. Alternatively we could just use the ignore function if certain posters piss us off.

This is a discussion forum so it would be very boring without arguing. Should this thread be moved to your new section now that I'm arguing with you?

If you mean personal attacks then those posts should probably be reported to mods more often as they tend to be off topic. But if the thread itself is entirely about personal attacks then you just need to ignore it.

I mean personal attacks and same old sick opening witch hunting and revenge topics.
It has nothing to do with healthy conversation and arguing, but it is only damaging the forum.

My ignored list is growing, but that is not the solution, and I don't see how many of this topics should be in Reputation section.

Usually I read what I wrote the next day and I am sick of it too. 

Most people don't argue anymore.   They just insult in the form of multiple questions, and ignore whatever reply is given.  Rinse and repeat over and over.

Self awareness is the first step Vod. I couldn't give a more accurate description of your "discourse" if I tried. Now do something to change it.

Well, this is the reputation section it's pretty much meant for arguments in the first place. A typical thread starter opens a thread to accuse a person of a misdemeanor and accused person is bound to argue back flame-war style.

I don't like that these arguments are overflowing to Meta, however.

Hm, why? This is hard board and requires lots reading across forum. One simple doesn't jump in reputation and spam for sig.

There aren't that many topic that start with the sole purpose of insults and attacks. I count 5, maybe 6 on the first page of the Reputation board. Not enough for a new board IMO.

And you can't move topics when they get derailed into insults, otherwise anyone could troll a topic out of the Reputation board. Derailments should be reported to mods as off topic posts.

Send PM to campaign managers and ask them to not pay users posting in reputation, may I assure you it won't change anything, there will always be some bitching around because user A doesn't like user B or something else.

That's a tough one. I'd say ban everyone who hasn't put cryptohunter on ignore yet.

Jesus, I just wrote a long post based on my misreading of what you said in the OP.

I don't think arguments and/or drama need to be moved to Off-Topic necessarily.  I think if a thread gets completely derailed it ought to be locked by a mod, or at least the off-topic posts should be nuked.  It's up to the campaign managers if they want to pay for posts which are basically back-and-forth arguing, and I bet you a lot of that would fit within the definition of post bursting at the very minimum.

Anyway I don't think it's a huge issue, and as long as the arguments aren't completely petty I think they add some spice to the forum.

Since the CH account has technically disappeared (but not the person behind the account), ignoring the cryptohunter account isn't going to accomplish much of anything, unless it becomes active again.  All of his other alts should be put on ignore as soon as they're identified--which usually only takes a few posts.

That's good.  It means no one has pulled any new questionable actions. 

But don't expect for it to last long.   This is a great environment for scammers, and some of the highest trusted members are proven scammers.

If reviewed from the true meaning of "Reputation" is indeed right.
A little review "Reputation or other words Citra".
Reputation can be defined in a proverb (a picture of mind) means a picture that is shed in the mind / brain of someone, the image of someone who can change in a bad or negative outlook, with a note at a later date if it is not supported by the ability and vice versa of the real and actual circumstances, that is Reputation.
Which can be interpreted again as feelings, impressions, and an image deliberately done and created by someone about the facts or can be defined an understanding arising from oneself based on information or pressureobtained.

That's why everyone starts in the Reputation section, no wonder, if there is drama in this section, Reputation has become an actual place, it can't be separated, as the name suggests.

There could be improvements.  For example, I don't want to see quotes from people I've ignored.   But I understand development for this forum software is not worth it with the new one coming out. 

Also, the mods should start suspending or banning when trolls repost garbage that has been deleted.

Let me be the voice of reason.

If you are arguing over petty redundant nonsense then yes move it to elsewhere.

If you are producing evidence of financially motivated wrong doing that places members in direct danger and others seek to throw up excuses and lies to protect and support proven scammers then moving it a branch of the forum where the legitimate warnings are not heard is clearly a dangerous suggestion.

Disagree? I hope not.

Of course trying to hide the truth would be favoured by those that have things to hide.

You want people silenced for presenting inconvenient truths? No wonder the same people are supporting the idea.

Sadly with the invention of tor banning the truth is simply not possible.
Better to try to conclusively debunk peoples points and if they persist with repeating them as true present your solid case for trolling
