From what we have seen during the last few decades, increasing taxes can be counterproductive for the government. Not only it will result in business units getting closed, it will also make the employment situation worse. The solution is not to increase taxes at this point, when the businesses are struggling. The government should rather reduce their wasteful spending and manage the funds in a better way.

Everything will depend on collaborative efforts between the government and everyday people. The faster people are vaccinated, the faster the disease will be contained. The economy could take 2 to 3 years from now to recover if all goes well in the vaccination process. But if infections continue to rise towards new ATHs, it'll take much longer to defeat COVID-19 for good. Governments should focus on preventing further spread of COVID-19 by imposing lockdowns and other tight restrictions instead of focusing only on the economy. After all, life is more precious than money. But governments don't see it this way, acting irresponsibly just to keep the economy alive (like how the US has been responding to the pandemic lately).

This pandemic is a story of the past that is very memorable and deep for those of us who feel it, we can tell it back to our children, grandchildren, and even our great-grandchildren in the future.  How devastated all levels of society have been because of this pandemic.  Those of us who can survive will be victorious.  However, if we give in to the circumstances, this pandemic will soon become a part of you.  Stay enthusiastic, pray and continue to work together with the government so that this pandemic will soon become history.

I would like this work-from-home setup to continue. For me, this has been hugely beneficial. I am working in the IT sector, so working from home is very convenient for me. My expenses have been reduced by more than 75%, and the salary has remained unchanged. This means that my savings have almost doubled in a matter of 8-9 months. If this setup continues for another 2-3 years, then I will be in very good shape financially.
