How hackers attack your account.

There are many ways that hackers are using to access other's accounts. I just wanna share with all of you guys so you would know if someone is trying to hack your account.

6 ways of hacking:

Phishing - it is a fake email act as a legitimate, they tend to create phishing emails with the intention of stealing your personal information such as your personal data, bank accounts, wallet accounts, etc. They tend to create a panic on the person for example they say that there is a problem in your bank account and you should input all your information to the specific website to fix the problem.

* Think twice before clicking the links.
* Hackers tend to say some problems on your bank accounts, be wise and always assess the situation

2. Malware - it simply means malicious software on your device with the intention of stealing your data as well. These programs can perform a variety of functions some of which include stealing or deleting sensitive data, modifying the system’s core functionalities, and secretly tracking the victim’s activities.

How to stay safe:
* Always use a legitimate antivirus
* Do not download a fake application
* Keep your system updated.

3. Malicious mobile application - not all applications in the play store are legit. Some of these apps may contain malicious code that can put your privacy at risk. The application may give malware on your device that can be used by hackers to steam your data.

How to stay safe:
* Check the reviews of the application
* Always read the permission before downloading
* Do not download third-party app stores.

4. Smishing - It is somehow related to phishing which tries to trick you through the use of private messages via phone calls and SMS messages. They tend to get your trust and then when they know that they already get your trust, they mask some of your personal information.

How to stay safe:
* Do not share your some important information of yours
* Always keep your personal data private (contact info)

5. Physical security threats - it simply means a threat from your personal information from other people having direct access to it. It happens when someone physically gains access to your device.

How to stay safe:
* Be careful when storing your personal data
* Do not leave your phone unlocked
* Make sure to have a proper backup

6. Insecure networks - it happens when you connect your device to other internets, such as open WiFi. It creates a possibility of accessing your personal information.

How to keep safe:
* Do not connect on free WiFi if you are going to have bank transactions
* Never connect on free WiFi that you cannot trust.

This happened mostly on people who are relying on public free wifi. There are so many cases that bank details were stolen and they have no idea how is that possible knowing they dont give their details. Typical example of this is on the airport which users doesnt have load or balance to access internet. They will login on different available public wifi on the panel. Surely some of these have malicious malware that could trigger the stealing of data.

Just dont ever connect to any of it but register on your own mobile internet.

I believe this method was used for scam purposes not really steeling the data, from my country there a lot of people who got this scam method. Went a random number calling them and pretend to be a police, doctor, and other people informing the victim their family got an accident.

They will ask you about your sending any money and other things, the first step they are gonna use to make the victim was believed to them. Like a hypnotist, the victims unconscious they do. Make its victims scared, nervous, confused and other things cause of that's the victim not thinking clearly sending some money straight to the scammer.

Another thing you can do is to check the mail header.
While the sender can be spoofed, you can take a look at where the mail originated from.
If it supposedly is from coinbase, you should expect its an @coinbase mail address.

They can only check for already known malware in their database and for very obvious behavior. Everything else will not be detected.

5. Physical security threats - it simply means a threat from your personal information from other people having direct access to it. It happens when someone physically gains access to your device.

How to stay safe:
* Be careful when storing your personal data
* Do not leave your phone unlocked
* Make sure to have a proper backup

The backup should be encrypted too.
Protecting your system against physical attack vectors, but having an unencrypted backup of your whole system laying around kind of defeats the purpose.

Hackers are consistently searching for alternative methods to get our personal data, so we have to be extra cautious because some of them are good about manipulating people. Personally, I've once received a text message that I won and I need to comply the prerequisite that includes some of my information just to get the prize. However, the funny thing is I don't join any of their promos and that's why I don't respond. I have learned they are just swaying people with false information. My experience helped me to be aware of such happenings because I know there's a possibility that it'll happen again.

They send those emails to random email addresses in their possession, they obviously buy many email addresses or post fake draws/giveaways etc to get them and then send those spam mails to see who shows interest in it. They also blackmail people, by claiming they have compromised your personal data and have some information about you, and you must pay them or else...

Many newbies don't believe it, but your personal information like email addresses for example are sold to scammers when you send then to shady websites or icos, it happens because afterwards you start receiving spam mails.

AV can, but does not have to help.
They can only check for already known malware in their database and for very obvious behavior. Everything else will not be detected.

AV does not help and does not detect malware when the AV is not updated its database, because every time the AV database server always updates the weaknesses and some of the latest malware.

Malware and ranshomware become the most frightening thing if it has infected our device. I use 2 different types of AV for my device. Windows Defender default Windows 10 becomes the main AV and added with Kaspersky AV.
