Actual pics of the rig and details about temperatures, PSU loads, and environment conditions would be helpful.

From my experience, try not to have more than 2 GPU on a single cable from the PSU
Even 2 is bad if it's chineese cheap PSU

it should be. however, people always recommend molex raisers over sata raisers due to wire width. More width, more current can pass, less issues.
Also, i'd recomment some smoke detector as well.
Mining rigs are not to be messed around with, especially if you don't know what you're doing.

I had a mining rig under my desk for 2 years, with temp of cards never exceeding 65c (no AC)

You can see some pics here if interested https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5209154.0

Well, i'd suggest hook one card at a time and see if the miner works.
Listen to your PSU if it's making that aweful coil squeaking sound or not.

Also, if you can, check if the wires are getting hot after 1 hour full load

i use like this image

for each cable that plugged to psu
x4 cables like this in image . i did x1 molex x1 sata for each cable

so every single cable max 2 riser and x1 molex x1 sata for each

is fine or remove molex ?
