With the development of the economy, BTC is now gaining more and more attention, and it is not disappointed by the people who chose it. From being questioned at the beginning, to a large number of people investing now, it has become a popular investment product. I first learned that BTC was recommended to me by my friend W (who was the administrator of the Monetary Authority) at that time, and let me also invest, but I thought it was a hype May be cheated (this has become a big pity for me). Later, I started investing in 2013, when I bought 100 BTC and sold it at the price of 16,000 in 2017. Now my friend W has recommended a new cryptocurrency to me. Should I invest?
Since you have not revealed the name of the coin in which you are interested then it is difficult for us to give a complete advice, however if your friend knew about bitcoin back then when many people had never heard of it and recommended that you invested in it back in those days then his advice should have an important weight on your decision of whether or not you should invest in this new project that he is recommending to you, however at the end of the day you are the one that is responsible for your money and as such you should do your due diligence before you invest in any project.

You own more than $ 1 million, so I believe you will have enough experience and intelligence to be able to choose good projects to invest. To be honest, I've never seen anyone who can hold bitcoin for 4 years and sell everything in 2017, it's hard for it to happen.

Yeah, you should invest. Your friend helped you to get approximately $1.5 million worth of profits in four years of time which must be really amazing. How you believed your friend in 2013 but now hesitating to repeat the same now? Is there any specific reasons behind it? If I were you, then I will blindly follow a friend who have helped me to get 15x profits in four years time frame. Unfortunately I had no such friend in 2013 but now I have this community and they are always suggesting to buy and hold.

I am just curious about your buying prices in 2013 and about approximate target prices and time of holding for new buying of bitcoins. If your time permits, please share those which must be helpful for many people here. Honestly I do not need them as I do not have any plans to sell my times in next four years as I may hold them till the year of 2030.

Its a dream for so many even to think of $1 million of investment and owning the btc is just the best things to do if you own such money. Ideally keep investing in the dips and sell on the high in short term time so that you can make some money occasional as well. Will look to see if any such new project looks promising for the future to hold it.

you may think its hard because you imagine it your self but for a pro investor they know how investing work  . they will risk and wait , if their asset pump for a long time then theyl be happy and take the profit but not then they can accept the fact that they loose  . money doesnt also show if you have experience or you are already good at investing  . poor or rish , both cant avoid to be unlucky  and loose   . what i only dont get is that he said he was involved on here for a long time but still ask question like he is a a total noob

Yep, he owns a huge number of bitcoins and sold them at the time of the highest price. But now he asks a silly question, and like newcomers in this market. I was a bit confused about this and I thought that it was just his dream. hh

Your friend is having good analyzing skills about crypto currencies but remember that you may never find a coin like bitcoin but still we have lot of other good crypto currencies to invest. If you believe your friend then its your own decision to invest or not, or you could let us know about the coin which is is suggesting to invest.

Investing in altcoins is completely different from Bitcoin, because bitcoin is the king of this market and many people trust it absolutely. Its value will definitely increase in the future, but for altcoins you need to do research before investing because there are so many altcoin scams and it will die in the future.

Don't understand what you're saying, don't you realize when you buy so much bitcoin and sell it at a high price and of course it's a huge profit. But that experience doesn't even make you understand about cryptocurrency itself, so I doubt you about anything you say about 100 BTC, because even you still don't believe in cryptocurrency.

He doesn't know anything about cryptocurrencies, he asks silly questions and doesn't know how to analyze altcoins to invest. And certainly, the story of 100 BTC may not be true. It was just his imagination

If your friend has recommended to you a new cryptocurrency, it is up to you to do your due diligence on the pick, research the project, it's development, team, investors and other factors that are relevant to the successful development of the project. You are responsible for your financial decisions.

Reading through your message, you seems not be really much involved in the whole cryptocurrency market thingy or i'd rather say your are a seasonal investor however, simce your friend suggested bitcoin for you since back 2013, i believe he's a veteran in this market and would know what it takes to call a project worthy of his friends investment. I will advise you to invest in the project because even the last risk you took paid off. However, do share the new project in question so that the experts we have here will have a look and give better suggestions

You can't compare BTC to most altcoins. Most altcoins which are ERC 20 are just created for trading and profit purpose, no usecase.

Since it's your friend that brought you in, I think you ask him. You can't get anything.

Thanks your friend, but as regards to the new one he told you to invest, you can just ask him what is his basis of his decision and after carry out your own research with different means and parameter after you can make inference out of it. Because some projects look good and don't worth investing in so be careful because what work last year might not work this year. Only thing that is constant is change

That a lot of money you made by holding bitcoin in 4 years. Then you want to invest your money into another altcoin that can give you profit, its not recommended if you will start invest in new crypto, that was like gambling for many people, mostly after listed in exchang, it will dump so deep. So, keep invest in bitcoin or you can buy ethereum if you want to seperate your money.

To be honest, confidence in new coins have shattered in last couple of years and even if you check historic stats you would easily come to know that no other coin has performed as big and as good as bitcoin has, so i will suggest to try and keep accumulating more and more btc and take profit from next exponential gains, if btc is not an option for you and you want some other coin then the best one is Eth.

OP question is so vague and can't be answered properly. Maybe just his friend can response him.

If your friend has recommended to you a new cryptocurrency, it is up to you to do your due diligence on the pick, research the project, it's development, team, investors and other factors that are relevant to the successful development of the project. You are responsible for your financial decisions.
He should simply ask his friend why he suggested that coin in specific. If someone suggested you to invest in bitcoin earlier in 2013 then this doesn't mean he is a good analyser or you should always follow him. Actually, the market has over 2000 cryptocurrencies and it becomes harder to chose the good from the bad.
Or at least, just start a new topic asking community about the coin you are willing to invest in.

Now my friend W has recommended a new cryptocurrency to me. Should I invest?
What coin it is? So we can evaluate the capability of this coin.
Investing new coin/s isn't that bad if we could see its huge potential in the market but if we can't see anything, I can see the losing ends. The risk of acquiring new coin is high-risk unlike those who are existed already it is because they don't have such market performance that we can see and evaluate.
But for me, I'm sticking into Bitcoin and putting some funds into potential and promising altcoins. Usually, new coins get ignored unless they prove that they are worthy of trust and a gaining market.

If the new cryptocurrency isn't the bitcoin we'll know I would have say no. Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency which when invest wisely you're rest assure to get back your investment on a long-term. For long Bitcoin has proven itself to be worth spending time with in terms of investment but can't talk about other shitcoins.

Before jumping into the bad wagon, ensure you conduct  your own research about the altcoin before make your investment with them. There are scam projects out there and one must be careful to make decision in terms of investment.
