Cryptopia: Bitcoin, blockchains and the future of the internet movie

I had thought I'd seen the word "cryptopia" in a couple of posts I was read today and just glanced over the subject's were just discussions about the defunct exchange which was hacked and eventually went down last year. So didn't care much for these threads.

But then I noticed there was a film with the very same name released earlier in the month.

First time I had heard of this and since it was the second film from the same person who did Bitcoin: The end of money as we know it, I just had to take a look at this film.

The film maker says in this interview with cointelegraph for the film he had to create another film (the last one was 5 years ago ) of such a fascinating technology and the big name leaders in the cryptospace who are battling each other behind the scenes.

Looks very interesting and with all our similar reasons for being here, I would like to think others here have this same feeling of a need to view it.

Let me understand something here. Anything related to Cryptopia exchange in the Cryptopia film? Does there any significance for the word "cryptopia" which am missing here?
I watched the full trailer and it seems a great documentary but the title is so confusing for anybody who knows Cryptopia exchange.
Nice to see this kind of docs which would help spread the knowledge about cryptocurrencies and the future of money. Thank you rdbase for sharing this .

Not related to the cryptopia exchange at all.
I thought the exactly same thing when I first saw the name about the film as I had never heard about it until I bumped into that interview on my constant watching of youtube TV for the past two months. Hopefully this will end now that major lockdowns are being lifted all over the place and even lake of the ozarks had a major party that upset alot of people for some reason.
Being locked inside for over two months and it being actually nice over the weekend will drive anyone to just go out and release their disdan for their politicians but that is another story for a different thread.

They had a reddit asking questions about it and one person commenting on it after viewing it during a special release party. Seems they interviewed mister fraudster and phd of bitcoin sv before his summons to the court of florida and also a bit by Roger ver.
So just to see those tidbits would be just pure gold to watch just for the entertainment content of course.

There was a kickstarter for the film which raised 44k AUD to get it done.

I just watched it and I like it. It is filmed in a way that a "newbie" in crypto can learn really a lot about Bitcoin and blockchain in general. But even for someone who is fairly familiar to the crypto there are a lot of things that can be learned.
For example, in the movie the author says that there is more Bitcoin addresses than there is atoms in the universe. That information was so unbelievable to me that I "googled" it only to found out that it could be true. Really fascinating stuff and I urge everyone to watch the movie.

Over a year later, while looking for some information about a film, I ran into it.
This one I totally forgot about since it was being talked about on here nearly two years back in 2019.
It is available on amazon right now.

I'm surely going to view it in detail real soon but, its really encouraging for crypto enthusiast that, the entertainment industry along with other giants in varying fields are picking interest on not just bitcoin but cryptocurrency as a whole. Yeah, it might be bitcoin to front the headline but, it always extends to altcoins as well.

There, its of importance that what ever the plot might carry, it shouldn't be one that, the currency is used as a means to get away with evil or commit fraud of any kind. It should be appraised for what it truly is and that is, a new world order, far from the traditional means of exchange or transacting.

I can't understand so clearly the connection between the exchange that I'm less interested in entering into and the currently released films?
are they really created just for the hype of this movie?
I've watched the trailer of this film several times because there is some pretty good information and the message in it is pretty good to watch, especially for beginners.

This film has nothing to do with the exchange of the same namesake.
It has been explained earlier but a docu-series on the people who started in the cryptoworld and how they shaped it into what we all know of it today.

I would suggest you watch the entire film now as it is available on youtube so anyone can view it.
It is on the basis for the sharing of ideas and information so those who would not bother to view it if it wasn't available there.

my first impression is that this is quite good to see and here a lot of new knowledge and knowledge gained.
I think this is highly recommended to watch because from this film we can find out something that can indeed be said to be the other side of bitcoin

How Cryptopia exchange was hacked and shut down are terrible. I used to store my Cryptopia exchange but I fortunately to moved all my crypto out of that exchange before their hack and shut down.

This exchange gave me a real lesson that I heard of but never seriously take it. Not your keys not your coins. If I had not withdraw my fund out, I would have lost it all.

Cryptopia film reminds me instantly about Zootopia film and catch my attention to read more in order to understand what it is.

The producer of the film Torsten Hoffmann had an interview with crypto news after the release of the film and even expected it on youtube eventually.
So he had no problems with it being available freely so everyone interested could see it.

I wish I viewed this before watching the actual movie so to connect certain things of the film.
Which after a year and a half still find many points very valid mentioned about cryptocurrency today.
