I just hope we are able to establish a perm presence in space before Kessler syndrome hits us. Then at least we have a chance to clean up.
I truly doubt it with companies like SpaceX. I just have a bad feeling about anything Elon Musk touches that guy is a snake oil salesman. He pushes hopium on the masses who believe such ridiculous things as a a viable hyperloop where you have people in a vacuum tube where if it failed they would all be shredded instantly into meat paste, or an economic way to put people in rockets and send them around the world somehow cheaper than airfare. Or that somehow a traffic system based on car elevators can match or surpass the throughput of ramps.
He takes ideas that are decades/centuries old. Adds the word hyper to them, then makes extroardinary claims and alsmost no-one calls him out. Like the reusable rocket that had already been done many years ago, he does his own demo and everyone acted as if it's a world first.
Although I really like the name of his space company. SpaceX. Space Sex. SpaceXchange. Space Sex Exchange. SpaceSpec(tacular)Sexchange.
