There are many shady wallets in crypto space today, wallets I've never heard from anyone or reviews online, you guys need to be careful when going on playstore to download, remember some have backdoors hidden in them, they will give users recovery seed they already have control over,

Even if they are found in the googleplay, they may still be a trap for newbies. 
Somehow they are threads about them in the forum like this one for Mercuryo  looks legit actaully which partnered with BestChange, Kraken and etc.

It's not only in play store only, they are also in form of firefox extensions, some web wallets but the main thing is for people to know and use only trusted sites. They are not that safe also IMO but at least are better than new and trusted sites. They should do their own research before choosing wallet since its about storing funds.

It's many of them and sadly many newbies aren't aware that those wallets are shady. They have to be known and familiar of the wallets that the majority use so if they have seen a wallet that's not on the list of most crypto people, they will not download it.
These shady wallets were made to steal funds of their victims and this is the reason why you must download a wallet that's open-source and as much as possible, download the most popular and trustworthy wallet app.

You can literally find hundreds of fake wallets for smartphones because it is easier for anyone to develop such apps and also can place them on marketplace like google playstore, they will only remove them if they got enough reports so users looking for wallets have to look at the number of downloads and also their reviews.

People never need to mess up things when they need to go for bitcoin wallets for any platform. They can simply verify about genuine wallets from bitcoin.org's guide. For android smartphones, anyone can choose wallets from here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet?step=5&platform=android

I am not sure why trust wallet is not being listed here. Binance must work on making trust wallet to be listed here. If anything in trust wallet is not compatible against bitcoin.org then they must work on that. This is my personal opinion because I have been working with trust wallets without any problem for months. Probably bitcoin.org will list the wallets which support only bitcoins and not all the wallets which are ALSO SUPPORTING bitcoins along with altcoins. Not sure yet .

This is important and interesting information, because after all we don't need to believe in a wallet that doesn't have many users. this certainly will endanger the funds we have, and very high risk.

Thanks for bringing this up, many things have been said about fake and fraudulent wallets, and much will also be said because since scammers won't relent, the need to constantly update the community on their (scammers) new ways will always continue. However, it is good there are many trusted wallets and some can now accept and support more than 1 coin (multi-cryptocurrency wallet), therefore before using any wallet since funds security is very important, it is wise making a research or asking the community first and foremost for their reviews on the wallet.

for the wallet you should only use popular wallet that use by many don't just download the wallet without reviewing any of them so you will have idea how other users's experience using it.

Never heard of that mobile wallets before but its hard to trust wallet that came out from nowhere. Better not to try them and only use wallets that are highly reputable or wallets that provide private key to avoid headaches in the future.

Firefox extensions aren't safe to begin with, this is why its not safe to leave funds on metamask wallet add-on, the problem with PC browsing is Trojans and highjacking viruses are right there waiting for you to make a click, mobile wallets are far superior than desktop wallets in terms of security

I've never caught wind of these wallets which makes them kinda risky to utilize, can't discover any surveys about them, nobody is discussing these wallets, remain away or risk losing your assets, better popular wallets are available on Google playstore, why the hell will someone what to use unpopular wallets?

There are hundreds of fake wallets and other malware programs available online, that's why its always recommended to download any software from their Official websites. There is nothing much we can do about these fake apps/softwares. Users have to do their own diligence when it comes to choosing and installing crypto-related software on their devices.

well, therefore, we must be careful when using a wallet that has a good reputation as much as possible, such as the myetherwallet wallet for cryptocurrency that has an erc20 basis or uses a trust wallet.

Newbies should try to do research on anything crypto before jumping in, the first time I started using crypto wallet I choose bitpay and copay based on reviews, fake wallets is something you don't want to get involved with, gathering coins in the wallet thinking that it's safe and one day everything just disappeared, do better research before making any decisions

Thanks for the warning OP actually I never heard any of this exchanges mentioned. If I were to users dont just download any wallet from Playstore and just simply deposit any funds if you think the wallet has good reviews. Temember Google Playstore reviews can ve manipulated by dummy accounts and leave good feedback.

To validate the legality of certain wallet app, there must be many validstions from other people and not just from one side, scammers are increasing and they do know how to make you trust them and they will hit you like a lightning.

Useful information, thanks for sharing, unknown crypto wallets can come from any sources, scammers maybe, I recommend finding the official source of any wallet and download from there, all popular wallets like trust or myether wallet has official websites
