That was an edited art (maybe I'm wrong). Not even the source of this picture will capture the complete details where she got this thing.
I'd never think that someone will carry such adds during the protest, of course, I won't do that either because it is not the purpose to be there.

But anyway, it is not important anymore. And Finestream is right, we have to stop talking about it because it is not helping anyway because that cool guy doesn't know what he tried to promote.

Is he some sort of Bitcoin preacher? Imagine him preaching about BTC in the middle of the protest. I would like to know if it's a recent photo as well. Let's praise this guy haha.
Hahaha. I also don't think if this was taken during the recent protest in United States of America. For me, the phrase he is holding is like nothing to do in what protesters' fighting for, well, maybe he got some reason why?
I'm just laughing at the phrase he wrote, it's like he is into a cult or something, it's just funny. I hope this picture is taken long time ago.

Maybe he's just taking the opportunity to induce market adoption and there's no other way he can think of to make people buy bitcoin. I don't see any problem here. Just an exagerration of the phrase "Bitcoin will save the US". Save from what? Financial instability? I don't think so. He might just have a huge amount of hodled bitcoin and he wants to earn profit fast  Grin.

If I'm on his shoes I'll just wear a shirt with a bitcoin logo, I think it's enough to advertise bitcoin in that way.

I don't think anyone will come out with this in the protest. This is something totally different, so I don't think this picture was taken during the recent protest. And by the way, I don't really get why people keep saying things like Bitcoin is the savior lol.

Bitcoin is good, no doubt, but some people keep making it seem like an easy pie and a place to get rich overnight. That's why a lot of people I meet these days that ask me about Bitcoin are only talking about whether they are going to get rich immediately and keeps asking really dumb questions. We need to make people understand first the main purpose of Bitcoin, it's not to make money, Bitcoin is more than that.

Promoting Bitcoin at a rally that is dedicated to George Floyd and the atrocities done by police on blacks in America does not sounds good. It is more looking like an opportunist trying to promote something for his own profit. I think it is absurd to discuss Bitcoin in this situation.

It could be from the recent protests. There's a crisis going on there and one would think that Bitcoin would be a safer asset to hold right now instead of US dollars.
I dont think if from the current protest and i dont think someone will even think of doing something like in such protest. With that been said, the picture was also posted on r.bitcoin but i think it a picture took in the year 2014 or 2016.

Doesnt look very peaceful because people in background are not organised, all in different direction and its dark.
Most peaceful protests are during day, at night looting/rioting starting.

I get the point, but i don't see why peaceful protests couldn't be done at night Huh

If you could tell us the source of the image or when it happen, maybe we can understand it better Tongue

It was the actual link of the image was sent to me by a friend, but Finestream searched for it in Google, and found, https://twitter.com/JessicaHuseman/status/1267317135178698754 as the source.

I believe she didn't get the irony of the meme too, if it was in fact the aim of the meme.

If he really meant to be a meme then it is genius, hope this is not you trying to chime in with the situation for the community as someone said they cannot find the picture when he reversed searched it  Cheesy.

No it was posted recently and the picture i see is from a couple of days and if you checked the dates you would have known  Tongue.

This guy probably want to reach Christian Langalis (Bitcoin Sign guy) notoriety by doing this. It is actually very stupid to link Bitcoin to violent protests and anti-government protests. Yes, Bitcoin had it's roots in some Crypto-anarchism / Libertarian groups, but we have moved on since then and people not affiliated to these groups are using it now.

These anti-government sentiments are doing more harm than good, so we should not encourage that. Yes, the racism thing was bad and the non-violent protest is necessary.. but some thugs have entered these protests and they are looting shops and damaging property.

Even the family of the victim does not condone that kind of action now, because it solves nothing.  Angry

BUT, the sign guy is right! Bitcoin does "fixes this"!

Pretend the Deli was running a full node, it wouldn't accept George Floyd's counterfeit transaction, no police officers would be involved, George Floyd would be alive, he would just be looking for another Deli to scam with his $20.00 in Bitcoin Cash.

https://meaww.com/george-floyd-arrested-because-pay-store-with-a-counterfeit-20-bill-doj-investigation-top-priority

Quote

George Floyd, a black man who died after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck and restricted his breathing, was arrested and pinned to the ground for allegedly trying to pay at a local deli with a counterfeit $20 bill.

Roll Eyes

The flat-earthers of Bitcoin obviously doesn't have the word "sarcasm" in their vocabulary. It's also clear the troll didn't read how the topic is developing for context, and he might also be posting information without sources.

The protests in the USA are attracting different weirdos.Social anarchists, liberals, social justice warriors...
I know the protests are necessary, but robbing stores and setting cars and buildings on fire is not the answer of the social and racial problems of America.
What the hell does Bitcoin have in common with racism and social injustice?
I don't know who that guy is,but I wonder why the other protesters haven't kicked him out of the protest.

He's committed to the cause haha, I like it. I feel like we need more people in the public eye promoting in general so we can get a bigger worldwide interaction with cryptos. We're obviously doing well as it is, but imagine if we doubled the amount of people taking an interest by putting the message and ideas out there more!

Since not everyone (including me) aware of world news and events, can you mention the event/context? Is it part of peaceful protest or something else?

I think its in one of the riots due or protest due to murder of George Floyd. The message that he was trying to imply was really out of context though. That is not a great situation to include bitcoin into the topic. Very disturbing for me.

I once heard about someone painting his Bitcoin address on the roof and thought about making a giant qr code and puting it somewhere like on my own roof. Then I thought it might make me a target so the project was postponed indefinitely Wink

If they want Bitcoin to be their religion of choice let them. Christianity had its share of crazy preachers and it didn't stop people from going to church. We won't know what effect people like that will have on the society unless we wait for the response.

To preface, police reform in America needs to happen, and taking steps to combat conscious and unconscious racism is really necessary. However, the looting and riots seem to be just as much about economic injustice as police brutality and racism in America. The federal reserve's actions take from the poor by devaluing their savings and fixed income, which propping up equity markets.

The book "Bitcoin and Black America" explains how lower social-economic status individuals can benefit from fairer monetary policy like that of Bitcoin.

In my opinion all Bitcoin attention helps drive adoption. This young man is also bringing awareness to the fed's irresponsible actions to prop up markets until November. Let's hope people opt out of the system after giving more thought to monetary policy.

I think this an amazing peaceful protest that offers a real solution to those who feel dis enfranchised by the system. Im all for this!!

The flat-earthers of Bitcoin obviously doesn't have the word "sarcasm" in their vocabulary. It's also clear the troll didn't read how the topic is developing for context, and he might also be posting information without sources.

You never believe any source links on any issues, part of the reason you stay stupid.
If you want a source , Try using google, Confused_Fury.

BUT in globe-Earth, the news sources in Google say the deli employee CALLED 911, and said George Floyd used a counterfeit $20.00 bill. OK?

"Bitcoin fixes this", by running a full node, validate own transactions, without involving the police.
