If it is the blockchain.com wallet then go here:

https://login.blockchain.com/#/reminder

If it is not blockchain.com then as ETFbitcoin said you will have to give more information before anyone here can help you.
Also, did you delete the email and then empty the trash folder or might it still be sitting in trash / deleted items?

-Dave

That's very vague information. For starter, can you tell us what wallet do you use? By any chance, is it blockchain.com wallet?
Yes, I use blockchain. I requested an ID from this link, but the link does not come to the mail, and the message from support has not been answered for 5 days.

Just to clear any confusion, you do know that bitcointalk is not associated with blockchain.com/.info, right? So this forum is not an official helpdesk. That being said, some people will try to help you out of pure goodwill, others might try to scam you (by asking about your walletid or sending you phishing links).

If you don't get an answer from a trustworthy person, it's probably best to limit yourself to blockchain's official helpdesk, eventough they're not that responsive (or so it seems).

A last piece of advice: switch to a decent wallet if/when you regain access to your account ASAP. Web wallets are one of the worst kinds of wallets...

Basically any reputable desktop- or mobile wallet.
For desktop usage, electrum is a good wallet which offers some nice features.
Note that there are quite a few phishing sites who look like the original one. Download only from https://electrum.org and preferably verify the signature.

For a mobile (android): Mycelium, samourai or electrum would be recommendable.

Thanks for the advice. If I get access back Cry, which wallet do you recommend to use?

Depends greatly on your usecase, technical knowledge and willingless to spend a couple of bucks...

  • An airgapped wallet on an old PC is about the safest you can get, but it'll cost an old pc + a rather steep learning curve
  • A properly generated paper wallet is really good to, but it's not that easy to properly generate a paper wallet (you need the right tools + the correct procedure). Another downside is that if you spend funds from a paper wallet, you should consider the paper wallet to be exposed and you should create a new one afterwards
  • Also a good sollution is to buy a hardware wallet: i prefer and endorse both trezor and ledger... They cost like $70-$140, but they're allmost as safe as an airgapped wallet, and very easy to use
  • If none of the three options above work for you, you might consider a proper desktop wallet. Either core (if you have time and diskspace) or electrum. Do realise that these wallets need to be installed on a secure computer. Don't install a desktop wallet on an pc you use to install pirated games, on an unpatched pc, on a pc without virusscanner, on a pc without firewall

PS: backups, backups, backups Wink Always write down seed phrases and store them securily, if you use a wallet without seed phrase backup your wallet file on a secure (offline) device. Make copy's from paper wallets (laminate them aswell)

PPS: encryption is usually a good thing... Encrypted wallets, bip38 encryption,... The password you enter when encrypting your wallet is what makes it harder for a thief that has had access to your encrypted wallet to rob you...

In that case there are two option remain to recover your funds. I have tried now about reminder wallet id but seems it's not working, there is chances to receive wallet id via mail later on, so you may wait a bit more. Other 2 option describe as below.

1. If you have wrote down 12 word seed phrase then you may recover your funds, it will create a brand new wallet id for you and you have to set everything. Don't worry about your funds, it will be there but if your funds on imported address then likely it will not recover by this way. So for recover with seed phrase go to Recover Funds

2. Recover your funds login via json file (wallet.aes.json). Import your file that you have received via first mail during registration. Not sure if you have saved it on your device or mail folder. If not then this method wouldn't work for you. Anyway if you have this file drop the file enter your encrypted password if any (not blockchain wallet password). So you may go Import Wallet.

If do not work above methods due to lack of seeds and wallet file then there is some other way to retrieve your wallet json file. I am not sure how its work but you may take a look how a person retrieve it. Referred to this thread> I have recovered an old wallet.aes.json from Blockchain.info but its a raw key. Probably it would work if still you have access of your email address which is you have.

Eventually I will suggest like others, don't use web wallet. Move on any bitcoin clients/open sources wallet if you are unable to download whole blockchain ( for bitcoin core). SPV (Simple Payment Verification) like Electrum. Don't forget to write your seeds on multiple paper and save it on multiple places as well to avoid future lose. Don't save your seeds on any online machine.

That means you created the wallet with a different email. Even wallets created in 2015 or earlier will be possible to request a wallet id an/or backup if you have access to the correct e-mail account

Not necessarily... their automated systems are somewhat unreliable as well as their notoriously slow support... as an example, this morning I've requested a wallet-id reminder for an email address that I know is 100% correct. It's been nearly 2 hours and the reminder email still has not arrived. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Undecided

My advice to OP is to not expect blockchain.info/com to respond to your requests in a hurry... set your expectations REALLY low Tongue

And I concur with mocacinno... you should move away from web wallets as soon as practical... I'd recommend Electrum as well if you want something lightweight and don't want to download and/or store the full 300+gigs of blockchain data with Bitcoin Core

I have tried that too to reproduce an issue, not so long ago.
It's about 3-5 months ago and I never received any reminder of my wallet ID, even to this day.
(But for the email 2FA to the same email address, there's not much delay)

Good to know... I'll give up timing it then if it's been that long for you... I'm now at ~10 hours and still nothing in either the main inbox or even in the spam filter... They were able to send me a notification email telling me about their new "interest account" system tho Roll Eyes

And yes, the 2FA emails take a few seconds... not sure why their reminder system is so broken. Undecided

For the record, I already know the wallet-id, I just wanted to see how long it was going to take.

Did you create your account soon or old? I have an account since 2017 and I remember that there was a problem recovering the email for these accounts (even if you entered the correct email and password, you will not be able to log in to your account.)

If the account was created two years ago or more, there is little chance of regaining access to the wallet, and perhaps if you verify the identity you will find a better opportunity.
