Blockchain may see some usability in logistics, I don't think bitcoin will exactly.

But there's potential that you could sign something and a customs official at a post office for example could also sign and seal the contents listing what code they are and then just having items scanned by xray at the border (or whatever they use). I'm not sure as to how well implemented this already is though it may be similar but they sign the security tape or a form placed inside (before the tape is applied)...

This board is for speculation on the price of Bitcoin, so you should move your topic. The option is at the bottom left corner of this thread. Bitcoin discussion is more appropriate.

Bitcoin has been described in different ways, but I can't see it being used in the logistics industry. As mentioned above the blockchain or block ledger technology, could be utilized in the sector in a variety of ways.
I came across one or two ICOs which were aimed at using the blockchain to facilitate the shipment of containers. All documentation were to be done using it. Those projects are yet to take off as yet.

I was about to say this, and I'm quite surprised to see the title, perhaps this is what the OP mean. It's the technology behind that will play a big role, and even before the pandemic arrive, blockchain has been in the discussions in logistics, supply chain and even pharmaceuticals industry because of the sheer size of the data that they have to process daily just to be able to come up with data that will help them make critical business decisions and of course to streamline their process starting to pre-staging to finished products. Blockchain technology FTW!!

Blockchain will have huge role in logistics part because we can use blockchain make transaction more safer and faster specially in for distances. But im not sure if bitcoin can do that today since today bitcoin transactions is very slow and it take a hours in one transaction specially if you choose the smallest transaction fee. If you choose the higher fee then your transaction become faster but obcourse not all of us wants to pay higher fee in one transaction.

Maybe it can play a role or can be applied to the logistics industry. Bitcoin with sophisticated blockchain technology is the future of every industry if it can be well developed in accordance with the existing system. However, the pros and cons of applying the blockchain and bitcoin technology in each industry sector will still be present, including the logistics industry which is currently becoming a industry that is very much needed today by increasing purchases of goods online and importing exports.

It's too expensive (and useless) to use Bitcoin in logistics. But Bitcoin will remain "the thing" that opened world's eyes about the power of blockchain.
Depending of various companies' needs, blockchains are starting to get used in logistics, but it's not the same blockchains you'll see here as support for various coins.

My father was in logistics world and he has worked there for over 30 years, I have talked with him about this for a while. He told me there are ways blockchain and not bitcoin could be used in some ways, bitcoin is just money, not fiat but crypto however still money. Whereas blockchain is a software and if used right it could be helpful. Yet the simple fact is, if you build a good software without using blockchain, you could still get customers in logistics world, blockchain is something that would be helpful but not a must at all, hence why I doubt adoption would ever be high.

The biggest thing there could ever be is a logistics software company selling their product to 1% of all logistics companies and even though that is huge for that company, not even remotely big for crypto world.

It's possible but there are projects related to logistics already. I'm not sure if they are also going to be used by logistic companies, projects like these should be created by the government actually because it has to cooperate with authorities.

There is a project named GooseQ, I saw there did a bounty campaign here in the forum. Its a cool project but didn't really get attention. They were launched though but its base on China.

Bitcoin as a mode of payment for logistic will be usable in the first place but the underlying technology of Bitcoin the blockchain will really make a big impact for the logistics industry. Blockchain is for transparency, anti-fraud and much more similar to it, it will really revolutionized the logistics industry since blockchain is scalable in nature for example it could be used for tracking and authentication.

It possible that OP is not only talking about Bitcoin as a currency for purchasing power and accepted in the logistic industry but also to imply how blockchain technology could bring it help and plays a big role in them especially for big companies. If we could see how these big companies move and track their transactions most probably they are using this already. Maybe small businesses can't appreciate it but if they were able to see the benefits of this technology, that will also encourage them to use as well.

bitcoin, will this play a role in logistics industry? which also covers the air freight export license, export customers clearance, AU customs clearance, and AU customs duties
Actually, blockchain technology may be available to implement in every sector, including logistic and its trucking. As we know, logistics involves several parties such as manufacturers, suppliers, customers, auditors, etc. If implementing blockchain technology, it will give positive impacts, easier, and more effective and efficient benefits. For customers: It can help customers track their products and trace easily in the whole chain manufacturing. Additionally, it can also make the auditors easily check the transactions. And many others for every party.

Additionally, blockchain technology implementation offers more e=benefits to customs clearance. By using the smart contract, any kinds of approvals and also customs clearance may be done more quickly quicker and more efficiently. It will reduce the process take for the times of goods at the customs checkpoints.

As we know, there is BiTA (Blockchain in Trucking Alliance), the largest and biggest organization related in this world. It involves trucking-supply chains, that is from the UPS to the Salesforce and also DAT. Now, members of BiTA is about more than 1,000 applicants. BiTA itself implements the blockchain technology for logistic and trucking. So, it means that BiTA has been promoting the use of blockchain implementation to the industry, and it can be realized.

If those companies concentrated in the logistic industry is willing to accept bitcoin then it would be great. The main advantage of bitcoin is for cross border transaction and if you are an export or import company you could save a ton of money without going to the banking sector who charge you an exorbitant rate to sent huge amount of money to international countries and if these companies start using bitcoin then it will play a part in the company profits which is really huge in the long term.

Logistics platforms based on blockchain technology are not only technically demanding, but also require the clarification of many legal issues.
In addition to data protection, for example, the implementation of the many legal sources that are particularly relevant to transport must be taken into account.
For example, the transport law framework conditions are relatively complex, because the legal cornerstones result from a complex interplay of modality-related conventions, the (controversial) rules of multimodal transport and the different national legal norms.

Furthermore, quasi-binding specifications of the lex mercatoria (e.g. ERA 600 or BIMCO bill of lading) must also be taken into account.
Moreover, such automated systems must be coordinated with the mandatory standards at national and international level (such as formal requirements or restrictions on liability for damages).
Furthermore, questions of ownership and the role of securities and book-entry securities will have to be clarified within the block chain.
Finally, the question of how to deal with the large number of discretionary decisions must also be answered, for example in assessing fault, quantifying damages or interpreting specific contractual obligations and duties.

The role of Bitcoin in the logistics industry depends on how the industry adopts bitcoin in its system. Bitcoin can be intragmented with the logistics industry to simplify the payment process or tracking transactions more efficiently and transactions will not be deleted by anyone.

If some logistics industries really implement bitcoin into their systems, it is certainly a step forward in developing future technologies. But the regulations for implementing bitcoin will certainly be there and adjusted according to regulations set by government agencies.

I think you somehow correlate or Interswitch bitcoin to blockchain in this sense. Because for me, blockchain will play a role in logistics industry. In fact, it is already implemented in various supply chain management systems, as well as other fields such as medical, currency, records, and cloud. While bitcoin is a currency, it doesn't mean that we cannot relate it to the logistics industry. If I am not mistaken, bitcoin could be a tool to make transactions faster, and by building a system specifically designed for logistics and commerce using blockchain and bitcoin it might help boost up the economy.

I remember one crypto influencer said that blockchain can't go without bitcoin and that's what most of us think and even me. But as the time passes, it's starting to show that blockchain can be adopted into several industries like logistics. There has to be the specific usecase for these industries.

And with those things that you have mentioned op, I think it's applicable with blockchain. That actually depends to the data that shall be included by the logistics company if ever they'll create a system.

As for bitcoin, it's the currency and they can use it for fees and service payments.

That's possible with blockchain technology. But to reach that level of the logistics industry, there would be lots of difficulties waiting for us on the way.
There needs to be a pioneer to use blockchain technology into logistics. That one agency will go through the technology and the security needed to build a complete logistics platform so that the following agencies can see the benefits for logistics platforms using blockchain. That one agency might be a big import/ export company or even a whole country.
So the conclusion is that there needs to be someone who would try to apply blockchain technology into the logistics industry first, after that, the technology will grow itself.
