Certainly ETH will be preferred in payment, ETH transaction speed will be faster and its fee is also much cheaper than Bitcoin. Since 2019, I always use ETH to pay for my purchases

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

For me, it is better when I buy with bitcoin because of the transaction fee which is less than what will be charged if I'm making same transaction with bitcoin. Also the transaction speed is far better with minimal transaction cost. For merchant, bitcoin will be better because is more accepted and traded

both are also very unsupportive for a payment. BTC has expensive fees and longer transaction times. ETH also has problems because the network is often slow when there are many transactions. especially lately you can see fees also increasing from ethereum.
indeed it will be easier to use fiat. but maybe everything has to be updated. use of digital fiat money or with the same value as fiat money or perhaps the adoption of blockchain technology for world financial management.

When it comes to transaction fees (even in all exchanges), it absolutely BTC is considerable at high compared to ETH. Things that many traders are often to use ETH when they withdraw their money from a certain exchanger. And of course, I have to look into it and consider the thing in order to save some. To pay $2 with BTC compared to $1 equivalent to ETH, it is a big difference to see. But it gives me no choice to use Bitcoin than Ethereum because some establishments don't accept ETH but only Bitcoin.

most people do before making a transaction, they exchange bitcoin into ethereum because it provides a more efficient transaction cost. it's just that, after that, they exchanged ethereum back to bitcoin. Personally, I use ethereum for transactions because the withdrawal fee is less than bitcoin.
most people can certainly compare to choose which type of coin has a low transaction fee that must be issued, and ETH can be an alternative solution if you have to choose between Bitcoin or Ethereum because the transaction costs incurred are lower than bitcoin. the average person prefers ETH over Bitcoin to make withdrawals, therefore before making a withdrawal, most people prefer to change bitcoin first into ethereum

Of course ETH is better than BTC for payment, if we look at the speed and cost of ETH transactions it is faster and cheaper.
Therefore many people  prefer to use ETH for payment, if there are still some people still using bitcoin for payment. There are
two possibilities, the first is that he does not know the cost of expensive bitcoin transactions and secondly there are only choices
for bitcoin to make a payment.

In my mind people who are using just BTC for payment are new in this world, that is why as you above mentioned BTC transaction is so expensive and instead of this method there are a lot of coins, with which you can make it so cheap. On the other hand if you can use only BTC for payment, it is just out of the question.

I wouldn't say that etherum is better, instead i think it depends on the merchant options. Tonight i visited a website, and the required crypto currency payment method is bitcoin and litecoin; while for other platforms, it is usually bitcoin, etherum and litecoin.

In my own opinion, i will prefer etherum, because irrespective of the traffic, it is usually faster when sent rightly.

I think not many people are familiar with eth transactions. Most noncrypto users will easily identify btc but with eth, they will be hesitant at first. But considering the fee and tx duration, somehow eth is better than btc. But if you will be using LN, LN is better. That is, if merchants are having this LN within their payment system. I really do hope that more merchants will include LN in their payment system, so as to break the issues of expensive fees when it comes bitcoin transactions.

I agree! ETH wins in this battle. The reason is that by making ETH transactions, it's faster and cheaper than BTC transactions due to the high trading volume. Personally, I prefer to use ETH in making transactions. However, in some particular circumstances that we can only pay by BTC (a lot of sites only offer BTC payments).

we all look for cheap fees when making transactions. between bitcoin and ethereum, I prefer to use ethereum because it has a smaller fee. but, some people still use bitcoin as a transaction tool for several reasons. however, there are still many sites that accept bitcoin as a means of payment.

Very often we see people sugget to use ETH or any alternative coin for cheap and faster tx. I am going to share some information which will proof that it is no better. I may be wrong too, I am not an expert here. Just sharing what I have got.

BTC Avg. Block time- 10 minutes
ETH Avg. Block time- ~14 seconds (now)

So, ETH will get around 43 blocks = 1 BTC block

BTC block size- 1 MB (Let's say we use Legacy only)
ETH Block size- 20 to 30 kb (Let's say 25kb on average)

How much byte can both proceed within 10 minutes?
Both BTC and ETH will be able to proceed 1 MB tx data on average.

Is not both same in term of handling tx? Sometimes BTC is even better with segwit.
Just sharing some random thoughts, I am not expert technically. So, I may be wrong in many ways.
When it comes to payments an average person would normally opt for a coin which has lesser transaction fees than the other.
When compared to bitcoin, ether has a lesser transaction fees which is why many say that ETH is better for payments.
I remember days back when bitcoin transaction fees was so that most people use other coins to initiate the transfer and then exchange them back to BTC just to save some bucks on the transaction fees. I have myself done this to save a few bucks. These days though, it doesn't really matter that much  Grin

I think everything depends on your choice, irrespective of the circumstances, some prefer using ETH for payment why others prefer using Btc but I for one prefer ETH as a means of making payment, I am just comfortable with it.
both might be used. but there are constraints related to transaction costs and transaction speed that must be considered. BTC fees are more expensive for each transaction than ETH. but ETH also has a flax transaction and can make the transaction happen very long.

With 14 second per block you definitely need to wait less even if eth tx count will be higher

Yes, the transaction of Ethereum is more faster than Bitcoin. Btc takes much time than other crypto-currencies. I wil always try to exchange with ethereum, because it is more profitable for withdraw and getting ethereum in my wallet quickly.

I personally feel Litecoin is much better then Bitcoin and Ethereum but sadly its not working every where like bitcoin so where I able to use then I am going with Litecoin and where I feel I cannot go with this I am using Bitcoin as its also very important for all movements without any serious problem.
for payment, I also sometimes use other payment alternatives. it's because of the lower fees. however, in the case of bitcoin and ethereum, most people prefer bitcoin. it's just that, personally, I chose ethereum as my transaction tool so far.

Transaction wise, I would also have to go with Eth. Given that it is available on most local wallets specially here in our country, it is really the most convenient way to transact online.

As long as the network is not getting clogged and ethereum is a good choice to be used as a payment system. I guess we need a network with enough scalability to make our payment can be delivered instantly
We must go to the LN node to be able to get a good experience with btc tx.

With the recent increase in the price of transaction fee for btc up to $3+ per transaction and how faster transfer of both the respective coin works, I think eth is better than btc for payment, speed and cost wise

Personally, In the past couple of months, I have preferred ETH payments to btc reason being that, the Ethereum blockchain is somewhat faster, cheaper, easier and more flexible when compared to the btc blockchain. However, recently, the Ethereum blockchain has been marred with several issues of congestion and higher fees making it quite frustrating to conduct business and transactions. This has led me to look only towards btc payments. Until things change, I will stay on btc payments.

I had a very bad experience with ETH a few months back which enabled me to absolutely stop dealing with Ethereum although later I realized that how it was done and what exactly happened was actually my lack of knowledge.

So, basically a guy paid me 0.5 ETH and the transaction was pending like normally and he told me that the eth network is clogged up and the confirmation will take a few hours and I never heard if eth transactions had any fees issues so I released him the bitcoins as it was a ETH to BTC trade.

After 15 mins I see the transaction was vanished and later found that how it was done was basically sending 0 eth to yourself cancels the previous unconfirmed transactions. I could not find any reason to call ethereum is a better payment than bitcoin's. Ethereum got the dapps feature but that also misused to ruin the altcoin industry's fame and nothing more.

Yeah, Ethereum transactions were faster and the fees were very cheap at that time but lately it became high transaction costs so this made me an obstacle in sending a lot while I tried to use btc smaller than ETH now somehow now it turned upside down like this .
