Picasso's "Danse du ventre devant homme impassible" was recently purchased using "IDON Tokens". It didn't mentioned how much the piece was acquired, but it seems this is the first time we heard that a Picasso masterpiece was bought by crypto. I'm not familiar with IDON though, but it seems that the people behind this project, but it seems they are geared towards luxuries items and makes a new digital economy by taking advantage of blockchain. https://idoneus.io/owner-of-picasso-artwork-accepts-idon-digitalcurrency-as-method-of-payment/

I am fan of Picasso works. Honestly, this is the first time i know about this paint. I didn't also like it that much. Now the question is why they chose that work to sell it for an unknown crypto without even mentioning the price !? Is this a strategy to promote the paint sale or the crypto used to sell it ? Why not just using bitcoin ? I am not that pessimistic, but i don't think art fans/collectors will be interested in crypto just to purchase this paint .

I also didnt like the overall look out of the design. Maybe because of the lack of color. People are buying stuff just because it was drawn by Piccaso. I think I can draw the same artwork my self but it will not sell ofcourse. People are buying nonsense stuff for sake of Name.

Money laundering at its finest
I completely agree with both statements. First of all, buying with any shitcoin makes no difference: the seller just exchanged that unknown coin for fiat currency or bitcoin instantly. And, really looks likes some illegal stuff may going on. Why use an unknown crypto to the transaction if all is legal?

Well even if he did not drawn it but he attached his name on it, it will still sell, I have searched this IDON token but it's not showing up it seems this is a new token and not yet traded in the market, if they launched their token here in Bitcointalk, they can have something to show to investors and that is Picasso's painting.

He is famous but I cant see a good illustration or this art. Have a look on its content Im not sure what this particular piece depicts on it. I never heard that crypto sold for. Im more likely skeptical that this is a marketing strategy to give attraction to the said IDON tokens. Is this now a way to market crypto using known artist? Money laundering at its finest
80% I assume that this is what happening here. Picasso now a crypto enthusiast. The next Mcafee!

For the record, this token is being traded on.. wait for it.... p2pb2b, Lol, one of the most scammy trading exchanges recently. https://p2pb2b.io/ko/trade/IDON_USDDon't what to disclose the price, didn't use bitcoin but instead trying to promote their own token, very shady indeed!!!

So why are we supposed to believe that it's a legit drawing of Picasso first and foremost? Because I can literally find nothing about it on the internet and I suppose it should've been somewhere out there besides the articles about this IDON thing, considering it's Picasso's art?
To me it looks more like a fake drawing that wasn't even his, which was "bought" to bring people in to this token..

I dont believe its Picasso's Art. Has anyone noticed the source of the article? Sounds familiar right? Why use an unknown crypto to the transaction if all is legal?
Because that's how shill works especially on altcoins. From there it got busted already.
Its look like they made up stories. One thing about articles are its credibility, I will be somehow convinced If this one from cointelegraph at least. If they want to sell rumors do it professionallyMoney laundering at its finest
Most likely, but I find it more like a shilling using Picasso's name for promoting this token they mentioned. To me it looks more like a fake drawing that wasn't even his, which was "bought" to bring people in to this token..
Same perception, I am 99% its not one of Picasso. He should at least taken here so the acting would be looks real. Pablo Picasso Painting W A R N I N G obvious shill from IDON project.

It's amazing to see crypto purchases especially with these items but, yeah, like everyone's concern why they have to use a very uncommon coin for this. A marketing ploy or some shady activity is happening that lies on this transaction and it includes the coin.
I'm not fond of arts and masterpieces but if ever I'm the owner of that, I'd actually sell it with real money or very common cryptocurrency if I want to sell it and make some noise in two different communities, arts comm and crypto comm.

I would call this a disaster, some company wants to gain maximum from the painting, so they create own token only for selling the painting to create hype and then they sell on the useless tokens.

It´s good news that they use tokens, but this seems very random, the token and the questionable picture. Anyway, come back when someone buys the Guernica for BTC ;-)

This from the article: This milestone is made even more special since IDON Tokens have not yet entered public exchange. The seller has such a strong belief in the vision and value of Idoneus in building the new economy for luxury assets, that the seller found more value in owning IDON vs owning a piece of art by an iconic artist. Who is going to believe that sh*t? That "anonymous" seller is certainly not wiser than the UK artist who sold his 19 paintings for 490 bitcoins.
For others looking for another source, Decrypt also covered this story (most likely a sponsored post) https://decrypt.co/31210/a-picasso-artwork-was-just-sold-for-cryptocurrency

Probably just a way to promote an unknown project, next thing you know they will come up with an announcement post saying that they are planning to run an ICO/IEO for the project.

In my view this is related to the payment method, it is possible for sellers and buyers to make agreements with crypto-based payment patterns using certain types of tokens, in this case they use IDON Tokens.

Never heard of IDON tokens either. Quite a funny thing that an unknown altcoin goes to buy a Picasso, I do not think it is real though. A picasso painting is worth a lot of money and IDON costs 0 right now, so for sure the guy paid the seller real money and just used it as a PR stunt.
I bet you the owner just agreed to be part of the PR.

Although it is very commendable that crypto is being used to purchase a painting but the question that keeps going through my head is, why this particular token? I have not even heard of the token before, its value nor where it is trading to warrant being used. I think there is more to this or could be they are trying to promote it but nevertheless it is good that the prominence of the crypto space is still growing more.

Even if that would be a real Picasso would be still just a photo of a Picasso picture. And that proves nothing what so ever about this transaction. There are no real outside sources about this story and the information the site provides is vague at best. The contact addresses on Idoneus website obviously host lots of shell companies and the whole idea is just laughable. I mean imagine people going trough shady exchanges with non-existing liquidity to buy valuable art when there's other options available that are actually safe.

Yeah, sound like a publicity stunt to attract attention for IDON Tokens. And the piece doesn't look like Picasso's art at all or any information to verify that artwork was involved in the transaction so I cast this news with doubt.

Same perception, I am 99% its not one of Picasso. He should at least taken here so the acting would be looks real. Pablo Picasso Painting It's supposed to be Picasso. His art is very well known by some of his top & still living fans and the only thing we have about this painting is a name that appears nowhere on the Internet and a picture you can't even find in a high resolution. Hell, it could be even photoshop! I'd give it a better search but it's honestly not even worth my time. I mean, even if it was legit.. all this would prove is that the creator (or whatever his position is) likes spending crypto funds on luxury items "just 'cos he can" the whole idea is just laughable.
Might become the new kind of internet flexing if more shitcoin creators follow..
